All WDW monorails were out of service briefly this evening after a monorail pilot received an electric shock while flipping a switch.
The pilot was shocked in the arm while switching on a beacon that tells guests where to board. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but his injury was said to be minor.
Park guests were removed from the area while the pilot was being treated on the platform. The monorails were down for about 20 minutes.

While I work in the Department and don't feel its appropriate for me to comment on the incident despite being there at the time I would like to just say that the beacon light that is mentioned is used to identify the beam the train is traveling on and has nothing to do with directing guests

My post was a direct quote from the web site.

Bit that's being glossed over..

The switch is inside the cabin. AKA: The control cabin of the monorail has wiring that is faulty. That's bigger news.
