Monorail ???'s

I think I read in the Mousesavers newsletter that the monorail will be closing on 8/21/06 and be closed to sometime in 2007 and it may run temporarily during the holiday season.

Why would Disney close the monorail for that long?

Wouldn't it make the buses way overcrowded and even slower?

Has anyone heard anything else on this?

We are planning a trip sometime in the near future def. by June of 2007 and was going to stay at the contempoary but I dont want to if the monorail will be closed and not operating..

The Monorail is operating in "shuttle" mode (one-way trips - not making full loop) due to a major rebuilding project.

Upcoming

The Monorail will close down completely on approximately 8/21/06 until sometime in 2007. There is a chance it may be open temporarily during the peak holiday season in December.
