Do the monorail resort restaurants typically have walk-up availability in the morning (7:15-8ish?) With three little kids, I do not know what time we will be able to get out in the morning, but it would be nice to be able to do a last-minute TS breakfast if it looks like we have time before park opening. Do Waves, Kona, or GFC typically have reservations available a half hour ahead of time or walk-ups? We would just do CS if they were booked but I don't want to waste my time if there is no chance. TIA!

We've done breakfast at Kona and the Wave a couple of times in the past few months. Kona was pretty busy but they were still taking walk ups, but I'd suggest a ADR there. The Wave was mostly open. You probably wouldn't have a problem getting a table there without an ADR.

If its not the weekend, The Wave or Kona should be doable. Cant speak too GFC, never had breakfast there. The Wave would be my choice for more likely chance of walkup. Another cool thing, you can walk to MK from The Contemporary, 10 mins tops, faster than Monorail can get you there

I would suggest checking ADR availability as soon as you wake up and making a decision as to where you want to go then. The only time we attempt walk-ups is if we are actually walking by the restaurant, otherwise there is too much travel time involved to risk being turned away.

The Grand Flo Café is hit or miss. We've been able to walk up in the past couple years, but then other times we saw people being turned away, even if the restaurant was only half full. It all depends on day of week/time of year, and how many servers they have staffed. We've learned that if we definitely want a breakfast at GFC, we make and ADR ASAP.

Agree with the other posters. Kona and GFC can be hit or miss for walk-ups before park opening. Once the park opens, you can usually get a walk-up there.

As others have said The Wave and Grand Floridian Cafe (both very good) aren't generally that busy. However, rather than walking up when you get up in the morning or head out of the resort I'd get online and see what is open just to be on the safe side. We've been able to eat at both (and Whispering Canyon) this way with no issue. We've done Kona this way too, but availability is much more limited (which is what drove us to the other 3 in the first place)

I agree with much of what has been said. Your chances of a walk up at the 3 are pretty darn good, but I'd check the app for a last minute ADR as soon as you decide when and where you'll be ready for breakfast.
