At the Poly and the GF, you get the monorail from their main building, up on the second floor. It is very easy to get to. The monorail runs through the CR, you just take the elevator up to the monorail station. If you stay in the Garden wing you need to walk over to the tower building.

Just thought I clarify this a little. The Monorail station at the Contemporary is located on the 4th floor just above where the arcade and Sundries store is. So any guests staying in the Tower can just the elevator down to the 4th floor and take the esclator up to the Monorail station. There is also an elevator for guests with wheelchairs or ecv's and I have seen guests with strollers use it. Anyway you are correct that any guests staying in the South Garden Wing do need to walk to the Tower to catch the Monorail, they just need to go to the 4th floor and follow the same process getting to the Monorail once they are on the 4th floor.
