Monorail Drink-A-Thon

Yes, sounds great, even though I am mainly a wine drinker but am up to the challenge!

WLL - actually we live in Sarasota - Siesta Key - which is on the Gulf near the Tampa Bay/St Pete area....I LOVE it!!

But I am a native Floridian after all, so I think I was born loving the surf, sand and heat!

Maybe we could think of something that would make for a few good stories on the "Most shocking...." thread!

Hi Everyone...hope you don't mind if I jump in. WLL, good to see you, long time, no post, and I promise, no black olive talk!! :teeth:
Question for some of you: The wife and I have been doing the Monorail Drink-A-Thon for quite some years now...10 in fact (since Freshman year in college). Here's the rub: We're expecting our first rugrat, a girl, in July and I'm hoping that this is not the deathknell of our Drink-A-Thon days!!! Anyone have kids and can give me a few pointers or am I just an heartless scumbag?
I know this is going to sound AWFUL, but kids are great for photo-taking!! My daughter, 23 now, but not a drinker, follows my husband and I around and takes our pictures in each country. So much easier than asking strangers! (Although, I admit, unless you want lots of pictures of ankles, you probably need to wait a few years!)

Seriously, though - friends of ours always schedule one night with sitters, and then at one of the babysitting rooms when the children are older, to go out. The kids love it, and the adults love it more.

Must warn you however: the next morning on the teacups is NOT pretty! :sad2:

nonono youre not going crazy....YET ;)

we were originally doing CR14 but we decided (because she LOVES the poly) to do AKL (cos we havent done it yet and we wanna do jikos with the wine pairing) and Poly concierge...whatever, mr jack daniels doesnt want me to be typing ayasrnjsadfajdfl;jdf;lkdsjfasd

exactly ;)

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!! :3dglasses

If you can, do AKL concierge! It is awesome - although we haven't done them all, and have really enjoyed every one, AKL is the best concierge service! AND, they have the wonderful Sunrise Safari, only available to concierge guests.

Like my husband and myself, I can see the two of you truly getting your money's worth out of concierge - we drink it!!

We had originally planned on doing AKL concierge, but since we're only staying there one night, and we have the wine pairing dinner we figured we might as well save a bit and just do a pool view.

Haha, we totally feel the same way about drinking our money's worth in concierge. During our last visit to beach club concierge, we spent our afternoons drinking in the lounge. Needless to say, by the time the evening service came around, there was no Amstel left :teeth:

Lilly - You're a native Floridian too? Cool! There aren't too many off us. People always look at me with great surprise when I tell them I was born and raised here. Hehe! :)

born in Lakeland Fl!!

DH is a transplant from Ohio, but both DD's were born here in sunny Sarasota - so we out number him!

3rd generation native Miamian checking in here (I think I may have already posted that on this thread.) DH was born here, too!

Cristy-*sigh* you are so lucky...you get to go so often! Funny, cuz that is what friends and family say to "ME" but after being on these boards I realize I don't go nearly often enough! I am REALLY looking into MNSSHP. Maybe I will rent points and satay at VWL. Do you think it is too late to possibly rent at BWV?

:wave2: Native Miami-ian checking in Here! Lived here ALL my 47 years! :confused3 Had a nice time on my trip a week ago, but, didn't get past the Marqurita Bar at Downtown Disney! :sad2: Feel bad about that, but, I have another trip planned in July AND Nov.!

Wow! Lots of Floridians here - Disney must just be in our blood. DH was born and raised in Ruskin, FL. I was actually born in Ohio, but have lived in FL since I was a kid - first Lakeland and now Tampa - so I consider myself a true Floridian.

There does seem to be a trend that a lot of Floridians do enjoy their drinks...might explain why we can never get our votes counted properly...

Some of us have to fly all the way across the country from Seattle to have a truly great Mouse beverage experience!

I was born at Cape Canaveral during the start of the Space Program. I saw Alan Sheppard go up in Freedom 7, although I was just a little baby :).

alright everyone - we are leaving in about an hour....I am all packed and ready, just waiting for DH to get home from work....the cooler is in the car loaded with beer....:)

we will be at the Poly for dinner - so I'll be sure and have a drink for ya! (or two or three)
