I am sure someone more experienced than myself can help you here, but I do know the colors are significant. One color is for the resort line to GF, Poly and CR. Another color is for the parks. I would also like to know what colors are what so I don't hop on the wrong one!

The colors of the monorails are used to identify the individual trains. On any given day, a certain color is assigned a specific route, but the colors don't relate to destinations.

The monorail colors are: coral, red, lime, silver, gold, blue, yellow, pink, black, purple, orange, and green.

For my fam, the colors have triggered a family tradition. We name the trains based on the color- Mickey is red, Tink is light green, Donald is blue, Dumbo is grey, Dopey's purples, Cindy is light blue. Goofy is green, Minnie is pink, Aurora is coral, Yellow is Pluto, Gold is Pooh and black is Cap't Hook. This has been repeated on each trip since '99. The Kids hope to ride on their Favorite.

As another poster already said. the color of the monorail means nothing other than which monorail it is. The colors do not decide where it is going. You may see the red monorail on the Epcot line in the morning and then on the resort line later.

Isn't there one that's lime and blue?
There was, but the blue sections were painted white about 2 years ago.

We have so much fun with the colors. In Chicago they have different "El"
(elevated train) routes that are designated by color: brown line, blue line etc. The kids have seen them and ridden them so now at WDW they refer to the different colors of monorails as the "blue line" or the "pink line." We play a game while waiting for the monorail, trying to guess the colors before they arrive. My DS-10 has the colors all memorized! When we stayed at the Contemporary for the first time we had a view of the monorail. DS actually didn't want to leave the room to go to the parks until he had figured out the color pattern of the monorails running at the time.

Also, if you ever look at the monorail CM stand, there is a wipe on/off board listing which color monorails are running on the various tracks.
