Hi All!! I have posted a number of questions in the last month and have been soooo impressed by the willingness of people to help! A big thank you!! :thumbsup2

Now, new question. I have been thinking that if I am able to, I would like to take my boys on both the Monorail and the Ferry. I am staying at CSR so where would I go to catch these and where would I take them too? :confused3 Any suggestions?

Hi,

If you are not driving, I think the best thing would be to leave the MK take the ferry over to the TTC and the monorail back, or vice versa. Either way you will need to leave the MK for a while.

Or if you will have a car, drive it to the MK and park in the lot. Take the ferry from the TTC to the MK and when you leave take the monorail back, or vice versa.

Another thing you could do is go from or to Epcot from the MK. Take the ferry from MK to TTC and then switch to the Epcot monorail. Or take the monorail from Epcot to the TTC then the ferry to the MK.

Have fun!

Bob

You would have to take the Magic Kingdom bus from your resort and when you get off, you will be at the Main Gate for the MK. You can then, rather than entering the park, take the ferry over to the Ticket & Transportation Center and back, or take it to the Contemporary & Wilderness Lodge, which I think is one round trip.

You can also go up the ramp and take a monorail ride back to the TTC, and switch to a monorail to EPCOT. I'm pretty sure that is where it is. You can ride the ferry and monorail all day if you want.

Hi,

Ferry- To Magic Kingdom
- Back To TTC

Monorail- Express monorail( this one takes you directly from the TTC to MK without any stops other than MK and TTC,
-Resort Monorail( This monorail stops at the resorts on it's track ex. Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Contemporary. With additional stops at MK and TTC. This monorail ride is very relaxing and scenic. Though, it may take a while if it is jammed.

Planning 1st trip and trying to get my facts straight. I thought the MK bus drops you at the TTC from where you need to ride the monorail or ferry to the MK gates. Are you saying the bus takes you right to the gate?

From the resorts, yes, the MK buses take you straight to the front of MK, bypassing the TTC.

To the OP: the above posters are correct in how you get to the monorails and ferry. I will add that that ferry and the TTC-MK monorail get extremely crowded around opening and closing of MK, so if you want to ride them just for fun, I would try to do this around the middle of the day so the crowds aren't quite so bad.

Have fun!

The Epcot monorail gives you a nicer ride. If you take the bus into Magic Kingdom, you can take the Ferry BACK to the TTC. Then get on the Epcot Monorail, which travels right through the middle of Epcot--one of my favorite views at WDW from the monorail coming into Epcot.

The TTC...is that right at MK? Does it cost anything to ride on either the Monorail or the ferry? No, we do not have a car and yes, we are staying on site.

Thanks again everyone for your excellant help!!! I just do not know what people do on their first trip to DW without these discussion forums!! :grouphug:

TTC is two monorail stops from the MK when you leave the MK. It's where everyone who drives to the MK has to park.

WDW transportation is free!

The bus from an onsite Disney Resort takes you to a stop very near the ticket turnstiles to enter the MK. Even if we have a car, we always ride the bus to MK, it is nice compared to driving.

It does not cost anything to ride the ferry or the monoral. As some added fun, ask the attendant at the monorail gate if you can ride in the front with the conductor. There is room there for 4 passengers and many times people will already be seated there but if there is room, you get to take a ride in the front. I have gotten to do this once. It is a nice experience and one I am certain your boys will love. The conductor even gave us Driver Liscense cards when we got off.
Again, this is not always possible but it does not hurt to ask.
Have a great trip!

Thanks! What a great idea!! We will ask!

In addition to the big ferry, there are also other boats you can ride at WDW. At the Studios, there's a boat that takes you up to the Swan/Dolphin/Beach/Yacht/Boardwalk resorts, then continues on to Epcot and back. It's a nice "time out" in the middle of the day if you want to visit that area, one of my favorites in all WDW.
Up at the MK, there are larger boats that go over to Wilderness Lodge and Ft Wilderness - nice ride, great close-up view of the Contemporary. And then there are the smaller boats that take the short hops over to the Floridian and Polynesian.
Plus, the small boats that you can rent and drive yourself.
If you're a boat fan, lots of options at WDW.
I also agree with the poster who suggested the monorail ride from the TTC to Epcot. If you haven't been to Epcot yet, that view as the monorail passes *through* the park is a great introduction.

Also, for the 'ride up front' , if people already are in the front with the driver, or waiting ahead of you, you can wait for the next or subsequent monorail, just let the CM at the station know you would like to wait. The resort monorail is a nice trip too, taking you on a loop around Seven Seas Lagoon, Contemporary, Poly and Grand Floridian and MK. Check the 3rd link on the page that comes up when you click the link on the left in my signature. :moped:  And welcome to the DIS.

Dan! Thank you so much!! Your pics are amazing!! :thumbsup2
