There was a thread a few days ago talking about monkey bread and making it the night before. I wanted to try that for Christmas morning but none of the threads said which parts to make the night before! I'd like to use the refrigerated dough, when do I dredge them in butter and cinamon/sugar? the night before and just let it all sit? I couldn't find any instructions and I don't want to flub it for Christmas morning!

I bake mine the night before, cool, wrap in cling wrap for the night, and put it in the toster oven in the morining to get it warm.

I cut up the biscuits and coat them with the cinnamon sugar mix and put that in the fridge overnight. In the AM I melt the butter and whatever else goes in that and pour it over and pop in the fridge!

Awesome, thanks! I don't want to miss a thing tomorrow morning so I am going to give it a try.

This is exactly how we do it. The kids always look forward to monkey bread - it's become a tradition on Christmas morning.

Mine is resting comfortably in the refrigerator as I type. I use this recipe, making the bread dough from scratch. Wicked awesome, and truly not that difficult or time consuming. Making the bread from scratch probably added about 10-15 minutes to the whole enterprise, and once you've tasted it, you will know why it's worth taking the extra time. :-)

I use frozen bread dough balls. cinnamon, brown sugar, 1/2 pkg butterscotch pudding mix (not instant), melted butter/margarine.

I put it all in the pan and let it rise overnight on the counter.

After looking online at more bread dough recipes I found one for cheesy bacon bread....yum!

The Monkey Bread recipe I just got done making called to roll the dough into balls, dip in butter, then dip in sugar mixture, and place in pan. Once that was done I put the glaze over the top, and then wrapped the pan in plastic wrap. At this stage the recipe said to refridgerate it over night.

Tomorrow morning I'll take it out and let it set at room temperature for an hour and then bake it. I'm using the Monkey Bread mix from Williams Sonoma, so I'll have to see how it turns out!

I made this last night and baked it today. It was super easy and delicious too. I put all the little pieces in a Rubbermaid container and pour the butter on top. Placed the lid on and shook to distribute the butter. Then I sprinkled the sugar cinnamon mixture on top and shook it. It was very easy to separate the pieces and place them in the bundt pan. Thanks for the link.

Tried it for the first time this year. Made it in the pan last night & poured the butter over this morning then baked. It came out pretty dry. It did sit in the turned off oven for an extra 20 minutes or so while we finished opening gifts so maybe that was the problem.
