Money for tips

How much money should I be looking at giving for tips?

I will be taking Magical Express, so are there any guidlines for tips for using this service? I will also be staying at All-Star Sports, so how much would be appropriate for housekeeping? And finally, I will be taking advantage of the free dining plan, which I belive has the tip built in? Any recommendations on going above and beyond what is built in?

We normally leave $3-$5 per day for our housekeeper. While a tip is not required, because I work in the hotel industry, I usually do. I know that that housekeepers work hard and don't usually make a huge amount of money. So I know that any amount is usually appreciated by them.

While on the Dining Plan your server is supposed to receive an 18% tip. I had several servers that told me no extra tip was necessary, when we went to order and told them we were on the dining plan. However, several times I received excellent service and left an extra $10 or $20 on the table (for our party of 4). When I felt I received mediocre or just ordinary service, I did not leave extra.

Also, I attempted to give our ME driver a tip when we arrived at the hotel. We arrived at the airport at midnight and he personally loaded our luggage onto the bus, so it would arrive with us, rather than at our room at 3am! He politely refused the tip and told us to have a magical vacation. So I am guessing they might not be allowed to accept tips.

I just got back from WDW and we tipped the bell hop, don't know if you were planning on using this service. It helps us a lot at Caribbean beach.
