Monday's Narnian Riddle

Thanks for the reviews. From what you said I think we will wait. I wouldn't have thought to take a 6 year old but one of them asked after seeing a trailer. I think she thought the Prince was a hottie.

Happy Quarter of a Century, EM!

I saw it yesterday with a church group and there were lots of little kids in the theater...the church bought out an entire showing. And from what I gathered afterwards none of them were scared and the parents had no complaints. You may want to see it on your own and then gauge if it's appropriate for your kids. At least that way you can drool over Caspian.

Thanks :) I wish you hadn't put it that way, though :rotfl:

HOOTY!!!

Should I swoop for the geek hooty?

ETA: Stupid Dis was too slow. And Brat swooped it out from under me.

Oops... didn't even notice the post number. I fixed it now.

Happy Birthday Creme De Menthe !!!

I think I have suits that are older than you. :p

1. be to intense on the big screen for a kindergartener
2. be as good as the first quality wise (though the trailer looks great)
3. be to boring for a little girl.... how much fighting is there?

Thanks for the info on the lack of gore- that is helpful!
Twink...I took my little guy to see it yesterday and he loved it! Shushed me through the whole movie whenever I made a comment to Mimi. He told me to quit covering my eyes. So apparently there was some roll reversal going on.

I thought it was much more violent than the first movie but not bloody-violent. But there was some intense sword fighting and the plot seemed a bit hard to follow for a little guy but he still thought it was really good...and so did I.

Thanks, Lou. Though i really don't want to know how old or moth-eaten your suits are. :teeth:

Linty, I saw in another thread where you said you heard that there wasn't any plans for film versions of The Horse and His Boy, The Magician's Nephew, and The Silver Chair. Where did you find that out from? Because of the way Disney is releasing the movies, I can understand why they wouldn't release the first two, but why not The Silver Chair?

Yes Linty please tell, I was looking forward to them making all of the films and would like to know if they are or not and why.

I would assume that because Disney is releasing the films chronologically by the time the books were written and not chronologically by Narnia's actual history, that is why they have no plans to make The Magician's Nephew or The Horse and His Boy into movies, as they would be out of order and not make much sense. The Silver Chair would still be in order chronologically, though. The Magician's Nephew should have been first and The Horse and His Boy should have come between LW and W and Prince Caspian.:confused3

Sexy Lexy!!!

About the other movies, I can't remember where I read that. I will have to see if I still have the website. I hope they do make them. I would love to see The Magicians Nephew made into a movie.

Happy Birthday, Mnementh!

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the books released in the order the movies are being released? Is it kind of like Star Wars episodes 4-6 being released 20ish years before episodes 1-3? Couldn't they still make the other movies? I haven't read all the books. Which ones are the Pevensie children in/not in?

Sorry....that's a lot of questions.

The movies are being released in publication order which is the correct order. There is also the chronological order which is not the correct order.

The Pevensie children are not in the Magicians Nephew and are adults in A Horse and His Boy in the Silver Chair Peter and Susan are not there nor in the next one due out Voyage of the Dawn Treader. They do reappear in The Last Battle
