It is Monday morning and the work week is ahead of us so we need to divert our minds to make it through the day. To help with this goal I pose a simple question to get our minds on more pleasant things. Create/Describe the Perfect DVC Resort.

1. Oceanfront with walking access to all four parks. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl2:

Okay, but seriously.

1. Great immersive theme.
2. Expansive pool with lots of features.
3. Excellent dining options at all levels (CS, TS, Signature)
4. Large balconies with cool views.
5. A large and active community hall.
6. Management that makes upkeep a priority.

My dream resort at WDW? Tear down the Swolfin monstrosities and build a vintage Hollywood resort that ties the Boardwalk/BC/YC together with DHS by linking the glamour of a not-too-different time period with a Hollywood theme. Go heavy of the Walt Disney Sudios history. Set up the CS like the commissary of Walt's studios, TS in a vintage theater setting with either old movie trailers/newsreels. Have a classic Disney character breakfast (Mickey, Donald, Oswald, Snow White, Pinnochio).

Furnishings would have the Walt Disney Ethan Allen collection vibe. GVs would be a limited number of freestanding bungalows each with a small back yard pool.

HOLY COW!

You just described something almost exactly the same as what I was telling a friend about the other day. I think something like this would be the perfect "grown up" version of the All Star Movie resort and would definitely be my favorite hotel/resort ever.

I don't know if this is even possible on Florida Lakes but....

I always thought the Poly would be awesome... with a twist....

Mix in a SSR THV feel to it as well. With some over the water bungalows!

Not this big, but along these lines!

I could even take it a step farther and love to see an Animal Kingdom type resort that has aquatic life instead. A main building that has maybe 2-3 stories with some awesome water features like an walk-thru aquarium. Having some awesome tropical fish and coral life. A huge shallow pool (i don't care if this is feasible or not) maybe 2-4 feet deep that is about the size of a football field. With 12-16 2br. over water bungalows that have tropical fish in the water. (not allowed to enter the water from bungalow). Then have another area for some snorkeling. So I would have maybe 12-16 2br Bungalows and only 125ish other units!

Actually there weren't duplicate threads.

One was perfect DVC resort.

The other was the perfect DVC vacation.

Sounds good! But the location is really wishful thinking. How about locating it near Blizzard Beach, the water park on the other side of DHS. Then have a back entrance into DHS? Disney would just have to add a tunnel under World Drive.

...Villas at the Grand Californian....:)

I'm with Deb & Bill - the one and only original Disney Vacation Club - Old Key West!!

I'll take a beachfront resort on the Northern California Coast please!

In all seriousness..love the sound of this...but build it on the California coastline..have to be close to the original with that theming :rolleyes1 and provide transportaion to the parks.

Add another vote for Villas at Grand Floridian. I think I would be broke buying points there.

I like the idea of an underwater themed resort. Maybe like Disney's version of Atlantis but a little more family oriented. Atlantis is nice but a bit to pretentious and upscale. You can still have a nice resort but a little more soft around the edges and bright if you know what I mean. The color schemes in Finding Nemo would fit the bill nicely. I would avoid anything Piratey for sure. pirate:
