we have 4-day Park hoppers and are arriving next Monday. On Monday we won’t be arriving until well after noon, probably more like 3-4pm...our ONLY expectation is to enter DCA, maybe ride a couple of rides, have dinner and try to watch the PTN parade. Because we then have 3 solid park days, with Tuesday being a magic morning day.

What should I expect for lines at an arrival time that late in the day? I’ve never arrived so late and I’m also breaking my golden rule of entering Disneyland first. So a very odd start but should be exciting nonetheless, as this whole trip is a surprise for our 7 year old daughter.

We have a PTN dining reservation for WCT on Tuesday but if we get a good viewing spot on Monday I am going to cancel the dining reservation, unless that is a mistake?

Since its is summer time, its pretty busy all day. The Disney App is pretty accurate on wait times so you can check that before you arrive.

If you get a good viewing spot on Monday, I think its reasonable to cancel your Tuesday dining reservation. Unless you want to see the parade from the designated viewing area, then keep your reservation. Also, depending on the dining package you reserved, you have to cancel 24 hours prior to your dining time (72 hours prior for the pre-paid one).

We were in the parks on Monday, July 2. We didn't enter DCA until about 4pm. We managed to have dinner at Lamplight Lounge, ride Guardians, Incredicoaster x2, Racers, Pal-a-Round, draw at the Animation Academy, and watch Paint the Night at 8:50p.

We got to Paint the Night right at 8:50p and had a fine viewing spot near Carthay Circle.

I should have added that our first stop will be the chamber of commerce, my husband gets a DAS. So even though maxpasses mugbt be unavailable I think we can still get on RSR or incredicoaster if desired. I’d like to see Carsland light up, that’s new to me. And yes, very aware of cancelling the dining reservation if we snag a good spot. Thank you :)

Nice! Just right in front of the restaurant? On the curb?

I found it very easy to find a good spot close to parade time start so long as we were near where the parade ends, i.e. Cathay Circle or Hollywood Boulevard.
