Well, like I said I promised the boys they wouldn’t have to wake early, so I let them sleep till about 9:30am, while I made some coffee and started to get ready. We were heading to DD for a noon PS/ADR at House of Blues. :rolleyes2 Well, should have known better because at 11:30am we were still in the room trying to get ready so I spoke with the CM at the hostess stand at House of Blues, who said it wasn’t a problem, we could move it to 12:30pm. Whew! We finally got out of the room, grabbed a bus to DD West Side and arrived at 12:45pm, which was still okay since the place was still pretty deserted.

Let me tell ya that House of Blues serves a great meal! DS said the steak there was the best he had the entire trip and when you order a drink there, you get a drink…I suggest the Raspberry Martini…mmmm! I’m not gonna go into detail about the meals here since they should go on the Restaurant board. I will say that our server brought DS a nice dish of vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of chocolate sauce and mint for his birthday along with Mardi Gras beads with the House of Blues logo on it. :cool2: DS thought this was the coolest and asked me to put it in my backpack so they didn’t get broken. (They now are hanging in his bedroom.) After finishing our meal, we headed to the shop. DS required a new shirt. Can you believe some kid paid him 5 bucks to wear his old HOB shirt every Thursday for a semester at school? Yep. DS loved that shirt so it wasn’t hard to do for him.

When we left House of Blues, it was :umbrella: raining so we decided to head into Disney Quest for a while. DH and DS love Cyber Space Mountain and immediately proceeded to start building their coasters, none less than a 5 and the more times upside down the better for them. Not me! :scared: I went over to check out the Aladdin’s Magic Carpets and Pirates of the Caribbean, both of which had the longest lines I’ve ever seen…at least 15 - 20 people in each. I guess everyone has learned to head to Disney Quest on rainy days. Then I tried my luck at Mighty Ducks pinball and got stomped…never any good, but I like to play it anyway. Then I headed up to the 4th floor to see if any computers were open…found one and sat down to check in with the DIS. I don’t know if my message ever made it to the Community board because the system was running so slowly that I got booted off before I could check. :badpc:

Well, after a coaster with 9 times upside down, DH and DS called it quits. :sad2: We walked over to Cirque to buy a few things and then back through West Side, around Pleasure Island and into Marketplace for some more shopping. About 4pm we grabbed a bus back to OKW to drop off our purchases and freshen up a bit before heading to Epcot, where we had a 7pm PS/ADR at Le Cellier. When we got back to the room I had t swap shoes. I’d worn my $80 Nikes that morning and rubbed a blister, so I grabbed my new CROCS before leaving. :goodvibes

Upon arrival at Epcot we grabbed a Birthday button for DS at Guest Services and headed into the park. This was our first experience with the Biometric Scanners and we had no problems. We casually walked through Future World on the west side, noticing that one of our favorite attractions, The Cooling Station, was closed. :sad2: The sign said “We are building the future Epcot for your enjoyment” or something of the sort. We admired the topiaries from the Flower and Garden Show as we headed to Canada. We arrived a few minutes early, received our buzzer, took a seat on a bench outside and admired the gardens. We aren’t sure what is being constructed at Canada, but to the north of Le Cellier, there is a wall and another sign, “Building the future Epcot for you”. :scratchin Once buzzed we headed into our first meal at Le Cellier, which was quite yummy! Everyone on the DIS is right…the cheese soup and the pretzel breadsticks are the best! Oh, and the Ice Wine Martini wasn’t half bad either. Andi our CM, was from Prince George and very friendly. At the end of the meal, she brought out a beautiful chocolate mousse in a chocolate cup for DS’s birthday. On the plate, written in chocolate was “Happy 13th Birthday” and the Mickey ears. She also gave him an Unbirthday card signed by herself and a few other CMs. DS was really impressed. :bday:

Again, it was EMH and we grabbed the wristbands at the West Breezeway with a short wait in line. Since Soarin is the newest attraction we went there first to find a pleasant wait of 25 minutes in the standby line. Met a very nice older gentleman who had treated his whole family…about 8 of them…to a week at WDW. Wow! What a guy! :worship: As we approached the loading area I remembered I had forgotten to take Dramamine…oops! Too late now… Well, it wasn’t needed as Soarin is so smooth! Oh, and the smell of pine! We loved it! Then we went over to Test Track, which we’d never done since DS wasn’t tall enough the last trip where we had another 25 minutes wait in standby. It was the hottest line we stood in the entire trip…no air moving and lots of people under all those bright lights. At least the pre-show area has interesting things…DH started to get excited with all of the statistical information…that’s what I get being married to a math teacher. :teacher: We loved Test Track, which on a double dog dare from my DIS friend silver7, we all rode with our hands in the air. Silver7, I didn’t think it was too bad, except when they do the braking section. We hit a couple shops then stopped at the Electric Umbrella for a drink. Feeling a bit beat we headed back to OKW. (Remember we were here to relax, not go commando.) DH and DS wanted to go to MGM for SWW on Friday and I told them if they planned to do any of it we’d have to get out early…

Construction by Canada..hmmm..will wait and see. Didn't know this was going on. BTW, raspberry martini sounds delish. Off to part 3...

I give you credit for taking it easy. Our trip in August is supposed go this way too, but I'm not sure I'll be able to just take it slow. Again, I'm glad to hear that you didn't find EMH to be unbearable.

Thanks! It was a relaxing trip...really our first of non-commando. I tried to follow my own advice to my Dniece who went in March for the first time...go, do what ya can, enjoy it, and remember you can't and won't do it all...enjoy it!!
