Hello ladies!

We went to the doctor this morning, and we found out...

it's a GIRL!

We are both thrilled about it, though DH is nervous about going broke LOL!

Now we can really start picking stuff out without having to wonder what gender the baby is anymore.

And during the ultrasound, Sweet Pea gave us this huge wave--it was too cute!

The only bad part was they sprung a glucose test on me today without warning me. Evidently they do them early for chubbier folks. So that was a delight. ;)

well my scheduled date is 9/9....getting anxious. Finally got the nursery cleaned out, crib put together and the dressers in!! Now waiting on baby boy!!

I still need to get the car seat, etc waiting until tomorrow/this weekend when my 20% off babies r us coupons are valid!!

Welcome to Team Pink!! :) I still have another 11 weeks and already our little princess has half a closet full of clothes! Girl stuff is addicting :lmao:

Good luck with the glucose test. I did the 1 hour last Thursday (and failed) and then did the 3 hour on Saturday and almost passed out and had to get special permission from my doctor to leave after the 2 hour blood draw because I was so sick. It was horrible!

Yay! :cheer2: Congrats on the little princess-to-be! princess:
I'm still so jealous you got to find out at 16 weeks!

Thanks! I have a feeling this baby girl will have no shortage of clothes. My mom just happens to work at a baby clothing boutique here in town LOL!

I certainly hope I pass. If I pass this time, then I have the regular 1 hour test again at 24-ish weeks. If I fail either this time or the next time, I have to have the 3 hour one. Needless to say, I'd certainly like to avoid that!

Thanks! And hey, you should just come down here. I'm sure my doctor's office would love another ultrasound that they make the profit on (no insurance to deal with since it's just a "fun" one, not a diagnostic one). LOL!

 Home Stretch! Good for you! I hope it is a comfortable two months for you! And lucky you, with one more shower to look forward to! :thumbsup2 Glad your nursery is coming along!

Ugh... NO!

I was hoping she would show up early... I guess she still could, but I am really doubting she will come on her own. But who knows!

I've been having really, really bad Braxton Hicks contractions lately. I am super uncomfortable. I could swear I am making progress, but as of my last doctors appointment, I am making ZERO progress. :sad2: While he said she is "right there" and engaged, I am zero anything and my cervix is still "very, very posterior". My doctor is very encouraging! :headache: ;)

I've been super, super tired lately. I haven't been sleeping at night, because she loves to sleep all day, and then wiggle and punch at my bladder all night! :woohoo:

I am really hoping she comes sooner than later, but I am getting very anxious and nervous about delivery. I'm still on the fence about the epidural, as I have heard horror stories about pushing for three hours, and long labors, etc. But who am I to think I can do it natural! I'm the biggest baby! :rotfl:

Ava's nursery is DONE! Thought I'd share a picture or two!

I'm really pleased with her little pink nursery, but I wish she was HERE to be put IN IT!!! :yay: Hurry up, Ava!!!

Hope everyone is doing and feeling well!!!

Thanks. I do feel like I am just in the waiting part now. The nursery is mostly all done (except for a few things we still need), AJ's bag is packed, mine is not (maybe in a few weeks I'll do that), but I still have several weeks to go. I will say that being back at work, especially with the kids, has really kicked my butt!

Sorry you haven't made any progress. I'm sure that is annoying. Hopefully she will come soon. Cute nursery!

Megs-
Such a cute nursery! :cutie: If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your furniture set? That looks exactly like the crib/dresser that I want to get for our nursery. Any info would be helpful!

I am also on the fence about an epidural (not knocking anyone who wants/has had one). I also have heard horror stories, and feel like humans have been delivering without it for thousands of years so why should I do it? But then again, I'm a big baby too! :) I have a while to think about it but I feel like I will probably go in not wanting one but will be open to it depending on the pain.

I'm not sure about an epidural either. I am leaning towards yes and feel like I will end up with one, but I want to wait as long as I can so I don't slow down my labor too much. My doc says I can get one at 9 cm dialated if it were up to her but the anethesiologist usually takes like an hour to get there, so I'll have to ask sooner. We'll see what happens. They have labor tubs at my hospital, so I plan to try that.

Congrats on a little girl! And yah for the wave! Sorry about the early/surprise glucose test. Hope it all works out ok!

Whoo hoo for a date! Not too much longer now! We still need the travel system but I think my parents are gonna buy it for us. Love the 20% coupons! I have them for BRU and Buy Buy Baby!

We did the same thing...bought so many clothes early on! Of course, we are having a boy but boy clothes are addicting too! Now we don't need any clothes for a long while. I returned a lot of clothes I got at the shower b/c we just have so many.

Sorry about the glucose test. I'm so glad I passed my 1 hour.

We just did ours at one of the stand alone places around Atlanta. It was the same price as my doc but we got more stuff (more sheets of prints, etc). They have them everywhere I think. The one we went to is located in a couple of states, Baby's First Images. I would like to do it again but we decided it really costs more than we are comfortable with to do it a second time.

So just a little update....Like I mentioned, work is kicking my tail. I am so tired when I get home, I have to take naps every day and just don;t have the energy to do much during the week. Hopefully I'll adjust and it won't be like this for 7.5 more weeks. We do need a few more things but I'll pick up a few things each week until time and also, my work shower will be Sept 7th. One of my student's mom wants to have the class throw me a shower as well. Very sweet, I thought. Anyway, its late, so I'll say good night. The hubs got home from work a bit ago, so we are gonna hang out for a bit, then bed. BRU tomorrow for the bathtub and to meet up with a friend who is selling me a bouncy seat (for my mom) for $10 and some more (bigger sized) clothes that her 10th month old son has grown out of.

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Can anyone tell me more about the Amazon Mom program? I get the general idea but it seems too good to be true. How do you guys us it to save $$$? Any other ways to combine discounts with the 15-30% off and free shipping? TIA!!

Congrats on a baby girl!!! Time to go shopping. :goodvibes

I failed the one hour test and just took the three hour. I'll get the results tomorrow, I'm really hoping that it comes back okay but I don't want to give up ice cream. It's a pregnant woman's right. ;)

Wow, 9/9, you are almost there. :yay: Which car seat did you get? We still need to pick one out, I can't make up my mind.

I've heard from a lot of moms that they pepped up at the end and had a lot of energy. This is our first, so I can't speak from personal experience but I hope that happens. There's a lot left to do. :thumbsup2

Thanks! And my mom has already begun the shopping spree, LOL! Hey, I'm no dummy, I'll take all the free stuff I can get. ;)

LOL about the ice cream! I think we all deserve at least 1 vice!

we ended up going with a travel system for now. although I really like the chico car seats.

we got a baby tredn 3 wheel jogger and car seat around $240

seems like time is winding down now. I am a little sad knowing this is our last child (even as a surprise, it has been a great pregnancy, being able to share it with the girls etc). Right now I am really anxious to be off work, looking forward to this new baby, fall, football and spending time with the family.

I pretty much have the nursery ready...need to do a few more things, and get a pack and play....
hope everyone else is doing well!!

Sorry to butt in! We bought the car seat right away (who knows why--I guess I can't help myself as an early planner type of gal LOL). We got the Chicco Keyfit 30. We didn't get the Cortina travel system though--I just felt the Cortina stroller was too heavy for me to deal with.

We bought the new Britax B-Agile stroller. You just get these adapter clip thingies and the Chicco car seat will snap right in. It is super light and easy to maneuver, plus it has this amazing one-hand fold that really only needs 1 hand!

I saw a demo of the Britax B-Agile and it looked great, I'm sure you'll love it. :) I still can't make up my mind what stroller or car seat to get, lol.
