Wow, 5 lbs is great. I am at 13 weeks (tomorrow) and I've already gained 10!

Sorry you had such a busy weekend!

I wouldn't feel too bad, I started off about 15 pounds overweight at 5'4" and 157 lbs. I was in the process of loosing the grad school weight when I became pregnant. ;)

Congrats on the little girl Megs!

Tomorrow both DH and I are off and will be heading over to EPCOT to spend part of the day. It is spring break and super crowded, and EPCOT usually works best for crowded days. We'll probably just make a half day out of it, and then spend the rest of the day relaxing. This weekend DH and I are planning to try out an Ethiopian restaurant with a local friend, Izzy. Izzy is thrilled to pieces we are adventurous eaters since his other friends are not. So we have been having food adventure weekends wit Izzy and trying some really good and authentic stuff. DH and I have had Ethiopian food before, in Washington DC, but never knew there was a place around here. It is good to hang out with a foodie..... Izzy has not steered us wrong yet. :thumbsup2

Oh, a fun story from one of the weddings. At wedding number 1 we got sat next to the awkward drunk guy. I decided I would sit next to him since I tend to be very quiet natured and he would have a hard time chatting with me. We were at the bride and grooms table and his wife (bridesmaid) was on one side of him, and me on the other trying to just keep him quiet. At one point the creepo leans over to me, rubs my tummy and says "You know, you're pretty HOT". Ummm..... so the preggo belly isn't any kind of distraction to you is it buddy? Neither is my husband or your wife? OK, just checkin... at this point DH and I decided to spend the rest of evening on the dance floor. Though most people at the wedding took up a betting pool as to when drunk guy was going to hurl! Can't recall who won but it made for a fun evening.

Congrats on the girl AKL-Megs! So fun to find out who's in there!

Well, you all see that little ticker in my sig that says "I should be here by now" .....well, HE"S NOT HERE YET! I thought 5th babies were supposed to come earlier than than the first ones. This guy has held on longer than any of my other kids! Still nothing. Scheduled to be induced next Mon. Up until now, I would say "but I don't think I will possibly make it that long" I said it about my kids and their activities, "I'm supposed to take DS to his baseball game on Sat....but I don't think I'll possibly make it that long" I would say. Or - "my due date is next Sat., but I don't think I will possibly make it that long" etc. I'm not saying it anymore. I feel quite confident at this point that I will still be pregnant Mon. and will have to go be induced a week past my due date. Grrrr.

talulabell....sorry your lil man hasn't decided to come out yet.....

Megs...Congrats on your girl!!!

I had my 32 week appt today and growth check at the perinatal office, thankfully they are in the same builiding, jsut different floors.

Baby was looking good...est weight at 4lb 9oz, which can be off by a lb either way. I even got a picture today...usually this kid does NOT cooperate, in fact the last 3 u/s I didn't get a picture!!!
I have 1 more appt there in 4 weeks.

Then I went downstairs to the OB...they were thrilled with my BP (138/88) but said any higher they will be doing more bloodwork and a 24hr urine. I had pre-pregnancy hypertension, so they have been watching me closely for pre-eclampsia. I told her about my SEVERE hip pain and she gave me Percocet and told me to get a belly band, which someone here had mentioned and I totally forgot to get at BRU yesterday when I was there!! DOH! I'll go on Thurs to get that. The Percocet will help, esp at night when the pain is so bad I can't even roll over in bed, but other than that I have ot grin and bear it since I have to be a mom during the day and not wacked out on pills! She offered to take me out of work, but I declined, I hope to work as long as I can and since I only work weekends, it is only 2 days a week I have to deal with it.

Today it hit me that I have about 6 more weeks (as I get induced) until this baby gets here...YIKES, I have entirely too much to get done between now and then!!!

Well, I am about 5'6 and I started out at 158, which is the biggest I have ever been. I had gained about 5 lbs when I was pregnant in the fall (our missed m/c) and never lost it, plus had some holiday weight on. I really wish I had lost 10 to 15 lbs before I got PG, so I could look cute instead of fat! Also, b/c at 158, I was wearing my size 10's but they were tight. I had bought 1 pair of size 12 pants and 1 pair of size 12 jeans and so now, the 10's won't fit at all! Anyway, I think I have gained 10 but my doc says I have only gained 5....hmmmm.....

Well, one way or another, he's coming out, right? :) So sorry he is taking so long!

Had our 13 week NT scan and OB appt yesterday! Great appt! We had a long u/s session b/c baby was on its stomach and she needed it on its back. She kept messing around trying to get it to turn over and baby wouldn't. This probably took 15 minutes or so. So she told me to go empty my bladder and lo and behold, baby was on its back when I got back! Heart rate is 163bpm. Baby has grown from 3.21cm 3 weeks ago, to 7.4 cm (about 3 inches) now. You can definitely tell that baby is filling up all the empty space now, as opposed to before. Heard the hb (but we had already heard it at home...lol). Also, doc said the neck looked normal, and the nose, as well. So, thats good. But they use the bloodwork from this time and next time to get an "official" result so we won't know for a few more weeks. I go back in 4 weeks for the bloodwork and to hear the hb again. Then 4 more weeks after that til the anatomy scan. So yeh, thats 8 more weeks til we find out. How annoying.... Oh well, we got a healthy baby, and thats all I can really ask for!

I still need to create an album on Shutterfly and post all the photos, but it may be until Summer Break before I get a chance to do that! Next week is Spring Break but we are traveling to Louisiana to see DH's extended family.

hello ladies! I hope everyone is having a good day!

Just got back from our anatomy scan! We are so excited to say that we are having a baby girl!!! Mom couldn't be more thrilled and dad is pretty excited himself!

Baby girl was very cute but very uncooperative. She likes to face my back, and the tech had to shake her and i had to get up and try and get her to move. She is a wiggle worm, just like her dad! Wouldn't stop moving all over the place!

She looks good and is growing perfectly! :)

fantastic news!!!!!

Ariel, so glad you had a good appointment!!!

Sounds like you have yourself a wiggle worm! That's cute! I love that high heart rate, that's great!!!

AWESOME! That's great!:goodvibes

Good morning, Ladies! I hope everyone is feeling well today!

Had an appointment yesterday, baby is measuring in right on schedule, and I am SO relieved; the doctor said my anatomy scan came back PERFECT! I was so worried! She's doing just fine in there!

I have to have the glucose tolerance test next visit... What can you tell me about that? Do they take a LOT of blood? (I hate that!)

I just did the glucose test at my last appt. Basically, they gave me a small bottle of soda to drink, it tasted like SunKist orange soda. I had to drink the whole thing in 5 minutes and then wait in the office for an hour. I flashed back to my college days and chugged that soda in about 30 seconds just to get it done. :lmao: Then I sat and watched Glee clips on youtube on my DH's i-pad for the next hour.

After the hour was over they drew 3-4 vials of blood (pretty sure they were just getting some other labs to check up on me while they were sticking me anyway). Nothing too exciting. I personally *hate* needles but it wasn't bad at all. The biggest part of the test was just the hour long wait.

ETA: My office said they would only call me with results if I failed the test. So if I did not hear from them it was good. It has been over a week with no news, so all is good!

That's great news Meg! I can't wait until our U/S and amnio on Monday just to get it over with.;) We never heard the heart beat on our last visit but saw it which was fantastic so we are looking foward to that as well!

Don't know to much about glucose tolerance but I believe you need to drink a glucose based drink after fasting and they measure your blood sugar afterwards. Not sure if it's a finger stick or a intravenus (sp?) draw. I'm sure Scottish Duffy will have more info on this one, I think she just had her test.:goodvibes

So back from our whirl wind trip to WDW & DCL! The drive wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but it wasn't easy either. The three obsticles that bothered me most was 1. noticing that i have a numbness in my butt which I am sure, given the location, is from my progesterone shots; 2. seat belts! I'm at that weird place where you don't want them over your belly yet my belly is not big enough for the belt to sit underneath it. Mike suggested that we get a couple of butterfly clips to put into our cars so I could adust the belt to fit comfortably; and finally 3. TMI warning! Poohing! Shoot no matter how much salad I eat I just can't seem to get stuff moving. I swear sometimes I'm between 2 and 3 days with out relief. That is uncomfortable to say the least! Of course while away I could't get enough ice cream either! I think it's becuase I'm not a big milk drinker and the bean is craving dairy. It's a good way to get it! Mickey bars and sandwhiches are my friend and didn't challenge my blood sugars to much so that was nice. This week is back to the low glycemic diet so I can be ready for my A1C at the end of the month!

The vacation was great that everyone had a great time and everyone was healthy thank God! It was very busy for me though because organizing 8 people for activities and meals is very trying. At some points I just walked away with Meghan and would hang with her cause she is calming to me that way. Go figure! The 13 year old is a calming influence!:goodvibes Dinner at Narcoosee's was great but the dinners on the Dream were not. I'm pretty sure that if the service had been better the meals would have been. They are still trying to work out some things on the ship but it is beautiful! Next year we are going to look at just going to our home resort for spring break for the week as opposed to the cruise. AND we are going to be either the 4 of us or or the 6 of us if my parents come. They are pretty easy to sit in a pool seat and chill!

Monday is our U/S and Amnio and on Sunday I need to pee in a box all day to measure the protein in my urine to make sure I'm not spilling. Typical Diabetic pregnancy protocol. The anticipation of Monday is killing me and of course we wont have the results of the amnio until Thursday or Friday. Alot of waiting but of course all totaly worth it!:goodvibes

Glad to hear everyone is doing well! Talulabelle u still hanging in there sister?

ES: The trip sounds wonderful! As far as your TMI, I had the same problems early on. I just could not go.... I had to take a suppository at one point I was so backed up. I had tried drinking lots of milk (I have a mild lactose intolerance and it usually runs through me at 1,000 mph.... didn't work!). I eventually ended up taking several stool softeners a day. I think I would take two Dulcolax pills every night and 1 each morning until it went away. I kept that routine for a couple weeks.

Today is my day off! Yippee!! I actually will have a busy week since I picked up an extra shift this weekend. DH has now been hired by Disney and is a CM. That is great, he is a Human Resource guy and wanted to work for Disney. He is currently in the process of going through orientation. Between the two of us working for the 2 largest employers in Orlando we get discounts just about everywhere we go. Not a bad deal.

This past weekend we hit some Farmer's Markets near us. One of which is huge and had about 150 vendors! I also ended up ordering a Tutu/Bow combo from a lady who makes them. I got them in a Green and White combination and plan to use it for Charlie's first photos. The lady who makes the outfits has a friend that is a newborn photographer who lives in our town as well, so that is super convenient!I also let all grandparents know that we will take a set of special pictures for each set of grandparents in an outfit of their choice. The gramma's are all going clothes crazy for this baby, so whichever outfit they like best they can let me know and Charlie will have a professional photo done in that outfit just for that set of grandparents (there are 3 sets). I figure that is something simple to do for each set of grandparents that they will like.

We also ended up with some homemade flavored pastas, some dried fruit I can keep in my pocket at work, and some organic plantain chips. Yummy snacks! I can do some serious damage at a farmers market.

This weekend there is a Pie Festival over in Celebration. DH and I love going to little festivals, so this sounds great. I am also all about some serious taste testing. :thumbsup2 DH is not one for sweets, but I am sure there will some more savory pies for him to have.

Hope everyone else is doing well, Tallula: Hope we see some baby pictures soon!

SD... Thanks SO MUCH for the info! I already have the "orange drink", so I won't have to wait around! I HATE the blood draw! Needles make me anxious, and I get so lightheaded afterwards (borderline anemic). Oh well!

The combo you got for Charlie's pics sounds so cute!!! I can relate to tge spoiling Grandma's! I also have one spoiling GRANDPA!!! He's so excited! My mom said she lost him in the store and found him NOT in sporting goods, but in BABY CLOTHES!!! :)

Esbrick... I was bound up in my 1stT also. I could only "go" in our downstairs toilet, lower bowl LOL, and even that was painful! FINALLY, I am back to normal!!!

So glad you had a great trip!!! Sounds like you had fun!!!

Don't think about the amnio too much... I wish you the best, though!!!

E... TOTALLY missed the part about your DH!

CONGRATS!!! That is so cool! He's Livin' the Dream! ;)

One last thing Megs: Dont have sugar the morning of your test.

I was allowed to eat breakfast but they requested no Sugar just in case it could alter the results. No cereals, no fruit, no juice. I ended up having some toast with Hummus and some cheese cubes.

Thanx for the TMI info! It is going on my list for Monday. Orange Juice used to do it for me and so did senecot which is supposed to be a herbal suppliment. I'm going to put it on my dr question list.

Congrats on your DH's job! That's great news!

Gotta roll, boss is grumpy!
