Piecey, congratulations!!! Owen looks so big! Good think you had a RCS!! He is super cute. :) Sorry you had such issues with the epi, but at least it seems like everything else went smoothly. They kicked my DH out of the room when I had mine, too...Guess they've seen too many dad's not handle it very well! I hope you have an easy and speedy recovery. :goodvibes

Talula, congrats on seeing baby!! It does make you feel better. For me, I feel good for at least a week, then I'm a nervous wreck the remaining 3 weeks.

Coney, welcome!

cmskok, what Maclaren are you planning on getting? That's my plan for a stroller, too, just not sure on the type. I hated my travel system!

DS has his first soccer game of the fall season today...1pm!:scared1: Luckily right now it is cloudy and windy with a chance of rain. Hopefully it sticks around through the afternoon.

My next appointment is on Tuesday and I can't wait! I haven't really felt the baby move and I'm not showing much so I can't wait to confirm that everything is still going okay. I'm hoping we'll be able to schedule the gender ultrasound for mid-September. I'm anxious to start picking names and decorating the nursery! DH and I have thrown around names and I think I know what I'm going to do in the nursery for a boy or girl, but I can't wait to be able to finalize some of these things. I can't wait to get a big belly. I'm so tired of just looking fat. The maternity shirts I bought still look a bit big on me so I haven't worn them yet (that, and my concern that something will be wrong on Tuesday. Ugh!).

Congrats Piecey!! Owen is handsome :) Hope you are feeling well!!

Congrats Piecey!! He is so cute!!!

I have a question for all you moms who have a few kiddos running around. Did they all make their debut at around the same weeks gestation? My two each came on their exact due date (a total coincidence I'm sure), and so I'm going through these last few weeks assuming that this little guy won't show up before my induction (a few days past 39 weeks) because the other two stayed in the whole 40 weeks.

Skuttle--I am not sure of the name of the stroller..It is the one with the vents in the back. I have a 9 year old who plays a ton of baseball in the summer, so I want one where the baby can be cool!

Piecey--I have a question. What did the doc say as far as driving. It has been 7 years for me since my last c-section and I cannot remember how many weeks of not driving. Life is so much more complicated since the bigger 2 are school aged.....

CMSOK - I had dd 7 years ago and had a c-section and was told I could drive as soon as I was no longer on pain medication.

Hoping some of you ladies can help me out. I am 8 weeks pregnant. This weekend I had a horrible head cold. I didn't get any sleep for two nights in a row because I was so congested. So I got out my safe list of medications from my OB/GYN and they had listed that Sudafed is safe to take as a decongestant. So I took a few doses of it over several days following the package instructions. Then I look it up online and see all of the controversy surrounding it. So now I am freaking out that I harmed my baby. Anyone else use Sudafed before?

A week.

She told me off the pain medication, and a week.
Mostly because she said if I needed to move the wheel fast or something I might pull a muscle I shouldn't by trying to respond quickly. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much Piecey!!!

Zuzu, I took sudafed through all 3 pregnancies---no problems with the first 2 and #3 looks great and is due in 3 weeks---he is moving around just fine in there!!!

I took sudafed with my first two pregnancies, and both kiddo's are fine!

I had the exact same thing happen to me earlier in this pregnancy. I went to my PCP and he said sudafed. I called my OB's office just to verify and they said it was fine. I took it over an entire weekend pretty much every time I could (I was MISERABLE) and then when doing research later came across the same controversial information. I was freaked out....I ended up paying for an elective ultrasound later the next week to check on the baby I was so worried. But everything was fine and seems to still be going great still.

I can't wait until your appointment Tuesday for you. I can still remember when we first got pregnant this time ....every time I went in for an ultrasound I almost felt like I was holding my breath until we saw everything was okay. It was not the exciting experience you want it to be initially. So I totally understand how you feel and am confident that everything will be just fine on Tuesday :goodvibes

I got the Maclaren Techno XT this time with the intent to use it from birth. We have a Quest as well which I LOVED....in fact I think the seat may be shallower on the Techno XT and we may end up keeping and using the Quest when the baby is bigger because of the seat. But I am confident we are going to love the Techno also.

Congrats Piecey! Such a big handsome boy! Thanks for sharing your RCS experience - the spinal part scares me a bit, but glad to hear the rest went well.

Welcome coneygoil! You're lucky to have had so many u/s already - I only had 1 my entire first pregnancy!

skuttle - it took me awhile before maternity tops fit right with this pregnancy - and now some of them are getting to be too short! :scared1:

zuzu - welcome! Like many of the others, I have also taken Sudafed during both of my pregnancies and had no problems. My doctor said those studies are based off taking really large quantities of the medication - like way more than the recommended dosage - and not to worry.

Ladies - can you tell me if you find this strange? I went to my cousin's 45th birthday party this weekend, and he had a beer pong tournament in his living room (I placed 3rd!). Apparently, my DH overheard some of the other women, who I don't know, talking that they didn't think it was right that I was playing since I'm pregnant. Let me make this clear - I was NOT drinking! There were a number of players that were not drinking for a variety of reasons, so we were just partnered up with someone that was and that person drank double (not even most of the time). So what's the big deal? It's not like it's strenuous to throw a ping pong ball in a plastic cup :confused3

I just wanted to say thank you for easing my worries about the Sudafed!!! I was so MISERABLE that I had to take something! I hadn't slept in 2 days due to congestion and well saline nasal drops weren't cutting it. I guess I have first baby jitters. It took us some time to get pregnant so I am trying to do everything right. So glad to have found this forum!:lovestruc

piecey- congrats.

AFM- I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow and I only have 2 weeks and 2 days till my scheduled RCS. That's only 16 days! I'm starting to get excited and nervous. This baby has actually dropped and I'm already 1cm and starting to efface, and his head is down low. It was right there last week at my check and even lower this week. My Dr said I might go into labor early, but expected it to be a week before my due date at the earliest, and I'm scheduled for 39 weeks 1 day.

I had my baby shower last Thursday and had a great time with friends. I got a really cute fleece Mickey Mouse Blanket that will be perfect this winter. Another friend gave me a big bag of used clothes so we seem to have plenty for the baby to wear. I still have to pick up some diapers and probably a few bottles so I have them if I need them. I'm still hoping to BF, but want to be prepared if I need to supplement.

My parents are getting ready to head on their big road trip, that will end with them arriving about 2 weeks after Daniel arrives. Somewhere around the 28-29. They are in BC and driving over to Montreal to see my brother and SIL, then driving down to AR. They will stay 1-2 weeks before driving back home. My DD is excited that they may be here on the 28th for her choir performance. DD is loving her new school and really enjoying all the performing arts classes she has. (Dance, Choir, Theater)

All in all life is good and I can't wait for the next 16 days to fly by.

OMG! How did I miss all of this?? Piecey-- congrats! What a handsome little guy!

Congrats to all of you new preggo mommies! :)

Pollito...what a bad mom you are, playing beer pong while pregnant! Shame on you! ;) As long as you weren't drinking, I don't see the big deal.

zuzu, just think about all of the babies that are born every day, healthy, to people that haven't taken care of themselves!

Joanne...sounds like baby is planning its own entrance!

Had my appointment this morning and all is well. :) What a relief! Baby was moving all over while Dr tried to get the heartbeat. You could hear the swooshing while baby was moving around. I don't feel really anything yet, but could definitely hear baby moving in there. She was happy with my blood sugar and blood pressure (I was put on bed rest last time for PIH).

I'm 17.5w so I was hoping I'd get to go back in in a couple of weeks (at 20w) to do the big ultrasound, but no such luck. Going in for the big gender ultrasound at my next appointment on Sept. 28th!! Can't wait! It'll be a looong 4 weeks!

glad everything is going well. i know it is so hard not to worry. sorry you have to wait another 4 weeks for the us- that's no fun at all.

I finally got my RCS scheduled - 9/21 @ 12:30 PM! :woohoo: I'm so excited to finally have an official date, though I am a little worried about not having anything to eat or drink since midnight the day before. I live in AZ and it H-O-T HOT here. I wake up with a dry mouth and drink tons of water throughout the day, but they said I can't even have ice chips.

If anyone is still hanging out here that recently had their RCS, how did you make it through so long with nothing to eat or drink?

Do you guys not do the list anymore? I haven't been around for awhile so I might have missed you saying that. I can't find it if it's here.

I had to be at the hospital at 10am for IV fluids prior to the c-section (I was scheduled for noon) so I slept in 'til about 9. Got up, took a shower, got dressed, finished packing and we left. Then we got there and there was so much going on I just never wanted anything.

How exciting to have a date and time!

I still can't believe it's all over for me. Hasn't exactly sunk in yet.
