Welcome Dannielle! Glad everything is going well for you so far. Our due dates are 2 weeks apart - I'm a little jealous that you are just now getting the maternity clothes out. I've been in them for at least a month full-time already!

Where did you get your Avatar? I love it.

Have you looked at Pottery Barn Teen at all for bedding? Not that he's a teen yet, but they have some cute stuff that is "boy" but with no pictures or things like that. Kinda expensive, but I've bought pieces from them and filled in with stuff from other places and that makes it not too bad.

Pollito - I don't think $100 would be crazy for the 3-D Ultrasound - better than painting a nursery twice (which would cost extra $ too, right?)

I probably found my Avatar on some random Disney Clipart site. I've had it for a really long time, so don't remember specifically.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards the teen stuff. I've found a few options at JCPenney and Bed Bath & Beyond. It's just making the decision. I'll check out Pottery Barn too. Thanks for the suggestion.

Welcome Danielle - our due dates are only 2-3 days apart (depending on which one my doctor uses any given appointment:))

Is anyone else having trouble concentrating? I am really struggling to focus at work and stuff that used to be a no-brainer for me actually takes longer and more concentration than before. I also have probably wasted more time the last 3 months than I did the entire 10 years prior to that I have worked here.

Then there is our living situation and I'm having a really hard time deciding what I want to do there. My DH is absolutely wonderful, but in all honesty if I leave something up to him to get done it isn't going to happen....and decision-making tends to be my job too (which most the time I'm okay with). For example our housing situation.....I will have to go to him with what I feel like our feasible options are or he'll just moan and groan about not having enough space....but he won't take the initiative to look into alternatives.
Neither one of us want to have to move twice, but unless we move in with my parents or his after our house sells we don't have a choice. And although I "think" I could live with his parents for a few months I don't think it could work out because I don't want to put DD in a different school for that short time and I think we would have to. My parents I'm sure I could live with and they live next door to us currently so school would be fine.....but that's a lot to ask. But we can't afford to start building without having our house sold. And then our house payment is low enough that with a storage unit and rent we'll end up paying more in the interim....which would be okay but not my most favorite option.....if we have to get a rent house or apartment. UGH!! We have so much to do to get our house sale ready as it is that it would be at the minimum a month before we could list it even. Oh....and some expense too.

YIKES!!! So much to do and so little time!

Have you checked target? They have nice quilts too.

Yes, I have a horrible time concentrating. I think it's normal in pregnancy. Unfortunately... cuz this is when you need to look invaluable to your boss, KWIM?

As someone who moved in w/ her parents for 4 weeks between house closings, I'd recommend against it if at all possible. I love my parents, and I love even going on vacation with them, but LIVING with them was just too much. For starters they wouldn't let us contribute to the bills, which meant that we couldn't adjust the thermostat or anything... We did get to buy our own groceries, and they have an extra fridge so it was easy to keep them separate.

The other issue living with them, is I felt like I was being watched with every parenting decision I made. That was really frustrating for me as I really felt like I needed their approval at the time.

See if you can put in a clause in the offer contract that says if you don't sell your home, then you are not obligated to go through with the purchase. That's a pretty common clause as far as I know, and in a buyer's market like we have now, I'd imagine it'd be a super easy thing to add. If you're really serious about building, that would give you a good long time to get your house on the market and sold.

Most of you on here know that at our big u/s the tech said "probably girl." She gave us two shots between the legs and there is definitely nothing there in either of them, but also no clear shot of the "3 lines". So I have been thinking more and more about getting a 3D u/s. It runs about $100 in my area, but I kind of feel like I want the reassurance before we start painting, you know what I mean? I've already started buying cute girl clothes and toys and even a bedding set online, but all of that is returnable. DH would be really annoyed if I ask him to paint the nursery twice. Am I crazy for wanting to spend the $100 when we are already pretty sure it's a girl? Also my sister works at one of the hospitals my OB delivers at, so she asked him and he told her girl. He probably wouldn't say that if he wasn't sure, right? I think I'm just another crazy preggo right now.

I think spending the $$ to try to get a more accurate answer isn't crazy at all. If you do get the 3D u/s I hope your little one cooperates this time! :)

Hi everyone! I want to join in in the Mom's to be Club!!!

Welcome!! :cheer2:

Last night was a bad, bad sleeping night. First I woke up coughing, hard, for no real reason. Then a big thunderstorm rolled through that the bulldog puppy though he had to "guard" me from. Then the baby decided it was time to roll around and kick me for almost three hours straight. Then the air conditioner (window unit) came on and the front plate was rattling...augh! I hope I don't fall asleep at work today!

Have a great day everyone!

Sorry to hear your night was rough....sounds like we had the same weather pattern roll through our area as well. I woke up around 1:30 this morning to a huge t-storm and rain. DH and DS slept right through! And then I couldn't go back to sleep because I was hot.....even though the a/c is set at 76. :headache:

Hopefully everyone will have a restful night's sleep tonight!

Thank you so much for the input. Unfortunately we plan on building on a lot we already own and will be taking out the construction loan for it as well. We have to have the house sold to be able to start the process.

Heh... well that changes everything. :)

My mickey in the house pack n play arrived today as well as my graco snugrider stroller frame. Sadly my mickey in the house car seat was returned for delivery issues. So now I have to wait for Walmart to credit me back my money and then re-order the carseat. To make things more interesting the price went from $99 to $114. I talked to a service representative and they say I can get the original price, so hears to hoping it all works out. This is the first time Walmart has messed up on anything so I'm trying not to stress out. At least I have 3 1/2 months till baby comes. This would be a mess if I waited till the last minute to order.

I do like the pack n play and the stroller frame. I got them all set up and waiting in my nursery.

Yea for new baby gear!! :goodvibes Sorry to hear about the carseat mix up. Sounds like it will all work out though.

Well, baby's been content in here and hasn't decided to come on its own...so tomorrow morning at 6 I'll be induced! Super nervous and hoping everything goes smoothly and painlessly (ha!). I can't wait to get it over with and meet baby. :lovestruc

Have you ladies done any reading on early vs delayed cord clamping/cutting? I ran across an article (on msnbc I think) about it, and started doing some research... It's very interesting. I know we've had the discussion about cord blood banks, and I thought this was relevant...

<church lady> discuss amongt yourselves </church lady> ;)

Phragmipedium: Good luck!

Temair: Sorry about the mixup. I hope everything works out and you still get the price you ordered it for!

Still waiting on accessories for the room ordered off ebay. I am very impatient while pregnant!

Have a great day everyone!

Alright all you smart ladies, somebody make me feel better. I got so sick of waiting for my DH to change the kitty litter that i did it myself this morning. I didn't touch anything but the bag and washed my hands afterwards. So now i'm worried about toxoplomosis on top of eating a medium well steak last night. Anybody have any suggestions on how not to be that crazy pregnant lady?

I know how hard it is not to worry....but you should be just fine. Everything I have read about changing kitty litter just says to wash your hands well afterwards.... and I think a medium well steak gets plenty hot enough to kill any bacteria. I have been so good about not eating lunchmeat unless I heat it up in the microwave.....but one day I went to Panera and had an asiago roast beef sandwich with soup. It wasn't even until later in the day that I realized what I had done.

Thanks WDWorBust... i'm glad other people worry too. I see we're due on the same day. That's cool.
