Gabe is actually 3 already. He turned 3 on 12/5 so the two kids will be almost 4 years apart. :goodvibes That's so exciting about Alex wearing his big boy underwear. :thumbsup2 We started trying to potty train Gabe when he turned 2, but we had some issues. Finally he just got it at 2 and 9 months and now he never has accidents. He loves all his underwear. I let him pick out a bunch of undies at Kohl's - we have Toy Story, Star Wars, Incredibles....:rotfl:

Christina - no Tide Simple Pleasures at Publix either. :guilty:

Does anyone take Folbee? My perinatologist prescribed it for me. I guess it can be used as a pre-natal vitamin and has extra folic acid. :confused3

Basing solely on watching/helping DH get back into it, there are definitely extra challenges to going back as an adult and a parent but the rewards just seem so much more. The incentive to do well is bigger and better than it ever could have been as a teen with no responsibilities and when you have to balance with work and parenthood thrown in too, no doubt it is harder but it makes you appreciate it that much more. You're going to do great!

Thank you! I agree that there is a bigger incentive, I know there's no way I could start right now but I want to soo bad. I want my daughter to be proud of me. That's something that's really important to me. :lovestruc

My college has a Radiography program too. My DH is actually interested in doing it - it's a neat field. :thumbsup2

It sounds like it would be fun. I just really wish the waiting list weren't so long here! I hope your DH decides to do it if he's able and really wants to. :goodvibes

Congratulations!! That's awesome! Forgive my ignorance, but what kind of work would you do with that degree?

Health Insurance. I'd be able to work in virtually any hospital/clinic and for any health insurance company.

OMG! It predicted mine would be a boy and he'd weigh 14lbs 10oz :scared1: That's like giving birth to a toddler :scared1:

My Prediction: The day you deliver, outside will be sunny. Your baby will arrive in the evening. After a labor lasting approximately 16 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 10 pounds, 13 ounces, and will be 16-1/2 inches long. This child will have medium violet eyes and a lot of brown hair.

10lbs! yikes :scared1: How do people have violet eyes? I've never seen that??

So I *think* I am starting to get that PUPPS rash on my stomach. It's been lingering, starting to itch for a few days and just exploded last night. OMG ... the itching is insane. It's sooo hard not to scratch. I keep wiping it with a cool face cloth and lathering Hydrocortisone on it but it's not really doing much. THANK GOODNESS I am having him on Monday.

I had a rash on my thighs and legs the weeks after Alex was born and that was horrible ... praying this doesn't get worse before it gets better.

I'm sorry you're so uncomfortable  ...sorry I don't know this but what is a pupps rash?

Joy - I only took generic's or OTC prenatals.

Joy, I got 7 pair of the PINK underwear that are 7/$25 and had a card for a free other pair.. I got a pair with a bunch of hot pink flamingos on it! :rotfl: Plus, they gave me one of those reward cards that is either worth $10,$50,$100,$500 on a purchase in April. Woohoo! I love their Love Spell lotion.

We had lunch in the food court and then DH and I got haircuts. I LOVE my hair!!!! I haven't had my hair cut for about 11 months and it'd grown out so long (since I've practically been on prenatals nonstop!) and I LOVE IT!!! I'm so glad that I decided to get a haircut with DH.

Then we took Lukie to my parents and hit the Dollar Tree. I got a cheap mop! haha. Then a local discount/clearance type store (like a TJMaxx) and I got Lucas some Fisher Price toys... one for his Easter basket, one for his birthday. DH got a ton of shirts for the gym. I got a lamp.

Now we're home and going to head out to see Remember Me soon-ish. I'm trying to talk DH into going somewhere and getting something to snack on first but I don't think he's buying it. :(

Ok, I was wondering where this thread disappeared to!

So things here are going alright. I got REALLY sick last week and ended up on L&D overnight because I was having contractions. I caught that nasty Norovirus crud and couldn't keep anything in my body. It took 4 bags of fluids to get my Ketones back to a normal level, they were over 100 when I was first tested. Needless to say, I felt like crud. I still feel pretty bleh but I can at least eat normally, just working on getting back my energy.

Other than that, things are going great! Aline is an active, active baby, she's always kicking and punching. She's breech right now, but they're optimistic that she'll flip around. I finally popped and look pregnant.. but people don't believe me that I'm almost 24 weeks, they think I'm like 18 weeks lol. I'm just little, thats all :D

loco - I am glad that you are on the mend. I hope you feel 100% (well minus pregnancy) soon!! I am also "little" this time. I do get questions about when I am due but most people are very surprised. I have always measured either just on target or recently, a little bit behind. However I have gained very little (relatively) and it's all belly. With my DS#1 I gained a lot more all over .. I was very puffy!

Patsy - Congrats on the haircut!! I had mine cut about two weeks ago and hadn't had it touched in over 11 months either. I looked back at the pictures of myself with DS just after he was born and it was a horrible mop of hay on the top of my head. I was determined, esecially with the scheduled c-section, that I would have better hair and have make up on!! :-) How Vain ...

Patsy - Love Spell is my favorite! I just wore it yesterday. Let us know how you like the movie.

Locolala - I am so glad you are feeling better!

So DH and DS are watching Men in Black II for like the 5th time in the last few weeks- someone save me! :rotfl:

Hope you all are having a great weekend. DH and I went to Babies R Us to get a look at what we will need to plan and budget for - he was freaking out adding prices as we strolled - he thinks he needs another job - :lovestruc

It was fun to see all the strollers, carseats, vibrating seats, swings, walkers, etc.

We also hit some car lots to look at new cars - we have a not very kid friendly 2 door convertible and an old SUV that is on its last legs....so far we like the Mazda 6s...

Grrrrrrrrrr @ that movie!
My DH is bugged by mentions of 9/11. He was in bootcamp on 9/11 (graduated 9/28/01) so it bugs him.

That movie is based in 2001. In NYC. Except we didn't know that going in. That REALLY irritates me, because now he'll be in a funk for awhile. We wouldn't have gone to see it had we known. I think they should make that clear to people. Or maybe I just missed something entirely... but I didnt know.

omg am i giving birth to a toddler?! lol. my others were all 6lbs so i'm hoping this one isn't that big. plus the fact that i'm having a girl not a boy like this predicts.

I'm sorry you felt so sick! Hopefully you will feel terrific these last few months of pregnancy.

I just saw someone I haven't seen since the beginning of Feb/end of Jan and she asked if she could rub my belly (which everyone had been doing all night...my best friend and I went to a 4 person bday party at a local bar) and she goes, "Oh my gosh, you haven't grown much have you?" Well miss drunky, what does it look like to you? LOL, I'm not a big fan of this girl...if I wasn't such a nice person I wouldn't have let her touch me at all. I have grown actually but I've lost all of MY fat and grown baby belly "fat" so it doesn't look like I've grown much.

I have a brunch date today so I have to go attempt to get ready...I haven't been on a date since well high school. And even then I'm not sure that counts. I don't know what to expect, he's even paying. I'm very nervous. I'm sure I'll post more after though, you ladies seem to get pretty busy during the day!

I think weekends get a bit slower.... hope you have a great date!

You're right Patsy, they do get slower. That's good, must mean we're all spending time with loved ones!

The date was interesting...we ended up seeing about 10 people we knew at the restaraunt and sitting with them so we didn't get a chance to talk. It was pretty fun anyway. The group is going out again Wednesday so that should be fun also.

I hope everyone had a good weekend!

PS...If anyone hasn't figured it out - I'm Emily :)

Hi everybody.
I just have one hand to type with at the moment but wanted to pop on and tell you that we had our baby girl on March 18, 1120 hours. 7lbs 10oz, 20.5"

Oksana Iryna

Everybody is doing great.

A strange sequence of events happened that led to a quick but wonderful home birth. I got hit hard with the flu on Tues night. Laid in bed all day Wed. Got up Thurs wanting a bath and toast to eat. Felt "funny" and called my midwife then called her back 10 min later. She came over and checked me and I was 5cm dilated with a bulging bag of waters. I had no idea.
DH and I then sat side by side on the couch in peace and quiet and he rubbed my back every minute or so. We were so connected. Midwives had already set up so they sat at the dining room table and did paperwork and checked my BP and baby's HR every so often.
Water broke and there was meconium in it. Because of that EMS were called. They stood by while I pushed baby out....8 pushes? One of them even held my leg...LOL DH rubbed my head and held my hand. I love him so much for just knowing what I needed.

Since people are ading each other on FB, you can PM me to add me if you like.

:welcome: Oksana Iryna! 7lbs 10oz, 20.5"!! :welcome:

..I had to go back quite a few pages to find the last time the list had been posted. Of course, we've been talkative... but just in case I missed an update feel free to let me know if your info on the list is incorrect!!!

Congrats Kiki!!!! I'm so glad you got a birth like that, after everything you went through!!

Kiki-I am THRILLED for you, especially given the journey to get her here.

So....I was exposed to strep throat yesterday. DH's sister threw my shower at her house, prepared most of the food, and started feeling bad last night. Hopefully I don't catch it! She said to go ahead and call the doctor because the same practice put her on antibiotics just in case with a similar situation during her third pregnancy.

I had my Level 2 u/s this morning and it's a BOY!!! We are so excited :) Abby really wanted a sister but I am sure she will warm up to the idea of a brother (plus she's not even 3 yrs old so I am not sure she even has the ability to really WANT one over the other, she was just saying it). Most importantly, he is measuring fine and all seems to be developing as it should :)

So, as excited as I am, I admit to being a little nervous and it seems silly. I know what to excpect from a girl but a boy and boy things seems foreign to me. Any other moms feel that way?? I just looks around at our toyroom that looks like Cinderella Castle exploded everywhere and think, "well, we need to make room for some cars and trucks." It will be great though!

Awesome!! Hehe, it looks like Cinderella Castle exploded here, too. I totally understand your apprehension, but I know you'll be ecstatic... just with more blue around!

Now I'm getting really excited to find out!!
