Moms to be Part 4

I never left maternity jeans. I was in back in regular cloth pants and T-shirts, but my maternity jeans never got put away haha.

I really like my OB, though. That is my hiccup. That and I love the Catholic hospital, the nurses, it's REALLY close to my house (literally just down the street).. if I went to Ohio, I'd be about 30 minutes from home and everyone but my parents, as that is closer to where they live. IT would make it harder for DH to visit me in the hospital because of the length of the drive. Actually, the Catholic hospital is just down the street from where my mom and DH work and my mom came to visit me on her lunch breaks. It was nice.
It's a tough call. :(

I don't envy you having to make that decision. I completely understand how easy it makes things having the hospital right down the street. The one I'll be delivering at is probably 2-3 miles away, we can get there in 5 minutes, depending on how you hit the stoplights. It's also nice to go somewhere where you already feel somewhat comfortable, more so in your case because of how close together the kids will be- not much will have changed in that timeframe. It's a hard choice though, especially when you are extra hormonal and whatnot already. I'd talk to your doctor at your next appointment (when is that?) and if that's not coming up soon, maybe call her and talk on the phone.

I hate making decisions and having to step outside of what I already know and feel comfortable with, so I understand your frustration. I will say though, that twice recently we've come to the point where we just had to make the change- new pediatrician for the kids and new dentist for the family and as much as I was nervous to leave, we are SO much happier with our new providers it's ridiculous. Nothing really wrong with the old ones and we thought we were happy when there, but the new ones are wonderful! So, comfortable is good but sometimes change isn't as bad as we anticipate either!

I started feeling flutters this time probably around 14 or so weeks, but wasn't sure if it was flutters or stomach problems  I lost a lot of weight at the beginning from being so sick so I was showing but my clothes still fit. I think I finally broke down and bought some maternity shirts in December, so more than halfway through. Never bought any maternity pants, my jeans still fit (because of the weight loss I assume) and I've mostly been wearing dresses that fit around the top and then just hang. Super comfy and I really for some reason did not feel like buying a ton of maternity stuff to wear for just a few months. Much more fun to buy baby things!

I lost about 15 pounds too from being sick and starting the GD diet so that is probably why my clothes all still fit. I agree with you about buying maternity clothes - I am not really into it, fortunately I kept everything from DS so I'll just bust it all out when I need to. :cutie:

Yay!! I hope everything went well! :goodvibes

Thanks for the congrats everyone. :goodvibes I'll be studying Health Care Business Services at first and then hopefully Radiography...we have a big wait list for that here and I wasn't willing to wait to go back to school. I do feel like I'm more prepared this time, I hated it the first time around and only went because that's what was expected of me. Turns out I failed almost every class in a rebellion towards my parents :confused3. This time will be totally different :) Having a little person to worry about will be hard but so far it looks like most days I'll only be gone for a few hours and my mom will help when I have homework. Which with classes like Medical Terminology and Math with Business Applications...I'm sure I'll have plenty of homework!
I'll have to get used to that again!

Basing solely on watching/helping DH get back into it, there are definitely extra challenges to going back as an adult and a parent but the rewards just seem so much more. The incentive to do well is bigger and better than it ever could have been as a teen with no responsibilities and when you have to balance with work and parenthood thrown in too, no doubt it is harder but it makes you appreciate it that much more. You're going to do great!

My college has a Radiography program too. My DH is actually interested in doing it - it's a neat field. :thumbsup2

I think I'm going to stick with the Catholic hospital. It'll make collecting birth certificates for everyone easier, too.. as we'll all be born in the same county! :rotfl:

I see my OB Monday. I called them back about the cancel thing and they wanted to move me to days I can't make it.. so I just said I had to come Monday and they said okay. I assume they'll move other people.

I am so happy that I went to the park today and only came back to 3/4 of a page of new stuff!! :-)

Patsy - I am so glad Lucas is feeling better. There is nothing worse than when they are sick. I have a serious phobia of throwing up myself and whenver DS gets sick I get SOOOOO paranoid that he's going to have a stomach bug and pass it to me. It's such a horrible feeling to worry about that!

I don't know when I started showing, I definitely became bloated almost immediately but didn't really start having a bump until October so maybe 16weeks or so. I didn't HAVE to change over to maternity clothes until well after 20 weeks but started earlier because they are comfy! :-)

I think I felt the first movements around 14 - 16 weeks or so. I'll have to check the baby book to be sure.

I am sooo HOT. I have no idea how I handled being pregnant in South Florida. It's only about 65 degrees out today but I went to the park with DS and thought I was going to melt. Seriously, I am sooo hot.

Sara - 144 seems low for a girl if you go by the old wives tale!! This LO had a heartbeat regularly above 165 in the early U/S and there is no question he is ALL BOY! :-) Now he is steady in the 140's. I had such high hopes with the high heartbeat in the beginning.

My Alex was always in the 160s too, right until he was born, when it started dropping. I'm not sure how much faith I put in that wives' tale anymore!

oh, is everyone on facebook?? I won't post my full name on here but I'd be happy to do it through PM

I will PM you! :goodvibes I don't go on often, especially with how tired I've been lately, though.

Hi Becky! I'm on Facebook and I would love to add everyone - just PM me your names or email addresses or I can do the same for you. :goodvibes

I will PM you too! :goodvibes

Why didn't I think of the growth of the girls factor? I'm sure that's it. They never grew during my pregnancy with DS but this time they are HUGE. :rotfl:

Congrats on seeing your sweet baby. I love getting U/Ss! :lovestruc

The girls was the only thing that came to mind for me, since not much else has changed yet. But maybe it is a hormone thing like someone else was saying! I was so excited about the u/s when it turned out well, it was the first time I had one so early in the pregnancy!

UNTIL MY OB's OFFICE CALLED TODAY! AGGGGGGH! To cancel my appointment! I'm so irritated!

I would be irritated too after 2 appt in a row. Moving one appt is one thing, but two gets to be a hassle and inconvenience for you, constantly rearranging your schedule!

I'm really behind after only one day but...
I just wanted to let everyone know....I got accepted into our 2 year technical college here for the fall!
Thanks for the congrats everyone. :goodvibes I'll be studying Health Care Business Services at first and then hopefully Radiography

Congratulations!! That's awesome! Forgive my ignorance, but what kind of work would you do with that degree?

KiKi Mouse had her baby this morning. :yay::dance3::cheer2: Mother and daughter are doing fine!!!

Finally! Glad to hear they are both doing well! :cutie:

The little guy is keeping me busy!!! But this morning, he has been totally into watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse happily while in his little bouncy seat. I got the dishes done and made breakfast for my son. I even ate!!! LOL...

That was one of DS's favorite shows from the time he was pretty tiny. He would hear the music start and just light up! :goodvibes

Becky, Lucas is doing much better... the ER gave him a nebulizer treatment and the difference is astounding. He had a really, really bad cough so I took him to the pedi Thursday.. they didn't hear anything in his lungs so they gave me some steroid liquid and told us to bring him back if he started vomitting. He started vomitting nonstop that night and the pediatrician on-call never returned my call (GR!) so I took him straight to the ER. He was coughing so hard he was vomitting up everything in his little tummy. It was scary! Luckily, the ER got him fixed up and we're home with no more vomit since.

So scary! I'm glad he's finally doing better though, that's extra scary when they're so little and can't tell you what's wrong!

Did you know you can block people on Facebook so if they search for you it says you're not a member?

I never knew that! Good to know ;)

That reminds me of another question - when does the baby move up into the belly area? The baby is still down really low below my waist and I know eventually it will move up, but I couldn't remember when.

I don't remember either, there is a great website from MSI Chicago that diagrams it, I will try to find a link and post it here. It's funny b/c it was so apparent during my u/s yesterday how low the baby still is, but I have quite a bit of bump well above that :confused3

Not sure on the showing part... it was WAY earlier than w/ DD though. I was barely showing with her at 6 months. This time around I think I might've started with the maternity pants around 13 weeks...

As for feeling... I know it's nuts, but I SWEAR I felt him moving at about 10 weeks. I was on the waaay skinny side and they say that can make a difference.

I feel a big difference between these two pregnancies too, showing WAY sooner with this one, and I swear I felt baby moving at 10 weeks, too.

WDWAurora - I lost your post, but a shower with 60 people does sound overwhelming. You are so lucky to have so many people care enough about you (or someone you know) to come to your shower! :goodvibes

*********************
As for showing the 2nd time, I have definitely been feeling bloated for awhile, it becomes more noticeable every day, and more so at the end of each day. I actually look pregnant already at the end of the day sometimes, depending on what I'm wearing.

I started out about average weight for my height, and didn't have morning sickness, so didn't lose anyweight. I have only gained 2 lbs so far, but it looks like more to me.

I started wearing maternity jeans this week, only b/c I was tired of the bella band and my regular jeans were too uncomfortable. I also wear a lot of dresses b/c it is so warm here. Dresses are easy and comfy! :goodvibes

I am also on FB, so if anyone wants to PM me their name we can be friends! :goodvibes

I lived in cotton dresses after I had DS. Pants hit right at the c-section area and it was miserable, so I loved my cotton dresses.

I just bought some at Old Navy a few weeks ago, I am excited to wear them when I get bigger! :)

I feel like this pregnancy is flying by! At this point with DS I'd been researching things, I'd already bought a crib... and I was getting ready to go on my yearly girls trip. We did a cruise that year! I miss those trips.. we had so much fun! It just wasn't in the books this year with DS being so little. I guess it'll be out next year, too. :(

*eta* DH just left for the gym and grabbed his phone and said "In case you get a craving" and I was like "DAIRY QUEEN! GO TO DAIRY QUEEN!!" :rotfl: I think I scared him. I was already sending him out that way to pick up that George Clooney movie.. "Up In the Air" at a Redbox. Excited to watch it tonight!!!

Anyone ever do this thing??
http://pregnancyandbaby.sheknows.co...Zaritska-predicts-your-birth-experience-1.php

It predicted for me... The day you deliver, outside will be sunny. Your baby will arrive in the middle of the afternoon. After a labor lasting approximately 5 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 4 pounds, 13 ounces, and will be 22-1/2 inches long. This child will have light violet eyes and curly black hair.

I hope it's a girl, but can you imagine a 4lb 22" long baby? Oh my goodness. Lucas was 22" but 9lb5oz. :rotfl: That'd be a skinny baby! Too funny..

And I'm now looking at those skip hop bags. It's an addiction!!!!

I immediately started getting a belly but people could officially tell I was pregnant when we announced at 9w. Now I am 18w and I look like how I did with DD at 25w. Huge! I have had to unbutton my pants since about 6w. Anyway, I'm using both regular clothes (with a Belly Band - love it!) and maternity. Maternity pants are not becoming of me. Even the smallest sizes are too big. I guess people my size don't usually have babies? So I'm ready for shorts and dress weather!

Last week was the first week I could push on my belly and really feel kicks. And now as I type this, I can feel baby kick. It's so sweet!

Congrats, Kiki!!

The day you deliver, outside will be shiny. Your baby will arrive in the mid morning. After a labor lasting approximately 35 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 6 pounds, 12 ounces, and will be 18 inches long. This child will have light hazel eyes and barely there red hair.

Haha that's really cool. "The day you deliver, outside will be cloudy. Your baby will arrive in the mid morning. After a labor lasting approximately 11 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 2 ounces, and will be 17 inches long. This child will have dark green eyes and a lot of blonde hair."

... I have a lot of catching up to do!

Here's that really cool link I was talking about that shows fetal development. If anyone lives near Chicago, the exhibit is really cool too! :thumbsup2

http://www.msichicago.org/whats-here/exhibits/you/the-exhibit/your-beginning/make-room-for-baby/interactive/

I saw that display in person in Chicago. :goodvibes

OK, here is my prediction:

The day you deliver, outside will be hazy. Your baby will arrive in the late evening. After a labor lasting approximately 9 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 4 pounds, 13 ounces, and will be 21 inches long. This child will have medium hazel eyes and a lot of auburn hair.

I love it! :rotfl: DS weighed 9lbs 13 ounces so the idea of me having a 4 pounder is totally hilarious! :goodvibes

Have a fun Saturday everyone. DH is upstairs taking a shower and then I am going to convince him to go get us breakfast. :cutie:

Ditto on the 4lb baby thing being hilarious. Lucas was 9lb5oz @ 39 weeks so I really don't see me having a 4lb baby, especially if my OB really makes me go to 40 weeks! :rotfl:

It cracks me up that we were all talking about undies on here and then my DH wakes up this morning and says "Let's go out. I want t-shirts and you should get new underwear."
Okay! :rotfl: So we're headed to Victoria's Secret. Woohoo!

So I *think* I am starting to get that PUPPS rash on my stomach. It's been lingering, starting to itch for a few days and just exploded last night. OMG ... the itching is insane. It's sooo hard not to scratch. I keep wiping it with a cool face cloth and lathering Hydrocortisone on it but it's not really doing much. THANK GOODNESS I am having him on Monday.

I had a rash on my thighs and legs the weeks after Alex was born and that was horrible ... praying this doesn't get worse before it gets better.

I am absolutely crushed right now. I just ran out of Tide Simple Pleasures Vanilla and Lavender. I went to CVS, Target and Walmart today looking for it. Apparently they discountined it. I am CRUSHED. I LOVED that stuff ... I used it primarily for our sheets and blankets. If ANYONE finds any ... let me know, seriously. I'll pay for shipping and time to get it!!

Oh no! I am going grocery shopping today - I'll check at Publix for you. :goodvibes

We just got home from running errands. We are looking for a new mattress and then we went to lunch - it was a nice day with my boys - DH and DS. :lovestruc

I am actually starting to really want another boy. DS fell in love with bunk beds at the furniture store today and it would be great if the 2 kids could share a room. I'll guess we'll see at my U/S in 3 weeks.

Joy - When is Gabe going to be 3? I am hoping the boys will want to share a room eventually, especially if we want to have a 3rd! We have three bedrooms right now with one full bath upstairs. Eventually we want to re-model and build over our family room to add a Master Suite upstairs but that won't be for another 5-7 years probably. If we do have a 3rd, we will aim for the same age difference ... 3 years. (And TRY for a girl!)

Alex has been wearing big boy underwear this afternoon!! We spent the afternoon cleaning upstairs and he was "Swimming" in the tub with his colors (those drop-ins that change the water color). He got out and came running to his room to pull out his big boy undies I bought him for Christmas. One accident so far but at least he is showing interest, right???
