Moms to be Part 4

Well, a week past due and nothing so far. This kid doesn't seem to want to come out. :rolleyes1 Yes, I've tried all the supposed tricks to bring on labor with no luck. It has to be sometime this week, one way or another. :cheer2:
I'm hoping baby has come out by now!

Hello Ladies!

I went for my 28 week appointment last week, and everything looked good. According to my fundal height, I measured right at 28 weeks. :)

Today (I'm 29 weeks 3 days) I had an ultrasound just to try one last time to get the 2 measurements they haven't been able to get in the last bajillion ultrasounds LOL. Fortunately, we got those last 2 measurements, and everything looks good!

Now here's the part that has me a bit concerned. According to the ultrasound tech's measurements, my baby weighs 3 pounds 11 ounces, which is big for her age. She said that's 75th percentile, which isn't alarming or anything. Now I'm worried that I'll have a giant baby! I mean, I do have to get her out after all LOL! Believe me, I'm going to ask about it at my next midwife appointment, but that's not for another 3 weeks.

The weird part of it is that my fundal height measured 28 weeks just last week, and now the ultrasound shows a big baby. Plus, I've only gained 6 pounds total in this pregnancy (they want me to gain 15 pounds instead of 30 since I'm chunky myself) and I tested negative both times for gestational diabetes.
I'm sure you won't have a giant baby! Everything will be just fine. :thumbsup2

Add me to the list! I am currently 7w6d pregnant with my first child! DH and I are absolutely thrilled. We tried for about 5 months before getting a BFP.

I had an ultrasound last week to date the pregnancy since my cycles are long. My last period was almost 10 weeks ago but am measuring almost 8. I am due June 21 - I'm a school teacher so this works out great for me. I will likely still start a maternity leave around Memorial Day that way I won't have to worry/stress about my students being in good hands and their final exams. My maternity leave comes out of my banked sick days so this means I'll use fewer of them - which I'm more than okay with.

I can't wait to see my students reaction when I tell them. I often give them random bonus questions and will do so to announce the pregnancy. It will go something along the lines of "Mrs. S is due with her first child sometime during the 2011-2012 school year. What month is she due?"
Congratulations! :wizard: It's crazy to me that your due date is June 21st, I had my last period June 20! Crazy Crazy. Time flies by when you are pregnant!

Hey ladies! So sorry I haven't posted in awhile! I've been reading over the past few pages & it seems a lot of you have given birth while I was absent from the DIS!

CONGRATS!!!!!! To all of you new mommies!!! :thumbsup2

I am 28 weeks now & have just entered my third trimester! I can't believe how quickly time has flown -- yet at the same time it seems like the next 12 weeks will go on fooooorever! LOL!

We went to Disney September 14-23rd and I found out 2 days before we left that we're having another little boy!!! :lovestruc

I have to go to the hospital one day next week for my gestational diabetes blood test and to my regular obgyn appointment. I seem to go every 3 weeks even though my ob assures me that I'm only supposed to go in every 4 weeks. Personally I think it has to do with insurance but we won't even get into that discussion!!! I am not looking forward to the weekly appointments as those will start right in the middle of winter. I am not a fan at all of snow/winter! My poor little guy will be born smack in the middle of winter too (I'm due January 30th).

Have any of you had issues due to the Noreaster Storms about a month back???

I wouldn't worry about having a giant baby! She could have just hit a growth spurt. If she is in the 75th percentile that is perfectly fine! My cousin, who is diabetic, is due December 7th and her baby is already measuring 7 lbs! :scared1:

:rotfl: I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone say that! Be thankful for that, for sure! :)

The last few months for me have FLOWN by, I'm sure once I get into my third trimester time will sloooow down but right now I'm enjoying time whizzing by. :lmao:

Can't believe how quickly time is flying! Is it really Thanksgiving this week!?
I've been doing well. We had our shower last week and had our childbirth class/hospital tour this weekend. The nursery is done except for cleaning out some misc stuff that's still in the closet and putting up the closet shelves. The rest of our house is in complete disarray, however. We're planning on moving everything that was in our office (now nursery) into the basement but we're getting the basement painted/carpeted, so we can't move it just yet. So we have file cabinets, desk & computer components, plus baby stuff (car seat box, pack & play box, etc) everywhere! Not to mention that I'm still determined to put up our Christmas tree and all my Christmas decorations... our house is going to look like that show Hoarders! :lmao: The goal is to have everything moved into the basement by December 1 so hopefully we can stick to that!
Baby is doing well. He's moving, squirming, and jabbing much more. We had our 3D ultrasound which was really cool. I also have started having Braxton Hicks contractions, I had been having them for a few weeks and didn't know it until my 28 week appt when my OB explained to me what they felt like. It's getting more difficult to move around- like turn in bed or get up from the couch, but still not too bad. I am starting to go to the OB every 2 weeks now, so I'll be back again on Tues.
How is everyone???

I agree the year has FLOWN by! Congratulations on being mostly ready!

We find out on Wednesday if we're having a boy or another girl! I am about ready to burst from anticipation! Two o'clock on Wednesday can't get here fast enough for me!!

Well ladies... we found out on Saturday that we are having a girl! princess: So excited!

Hi! Elizabeth, I envy your big healthy baby girl. I have two tiny bunnies here - they are both 20th percentile. I am eating and eating but haven't gained that much, 25 lbs. total at about 31 weeks. I hope this means they are eating up :)

Congrats to all the new mamas! It's cool, I think that 3 of us on this thread share the same due date (Jan 30). They won't let me go past Jan 16 though ...

Neverenoughwdw - thinking about you and the health of your baby! I am sure the twin is watching from above and caring for the two of you!

January 30! What a great due date! ;)

I was freaking out at work today. My co-worker was due on Dec. 25 and delivered her baby yesterday! I saw her on Wednesday and we were sharing pregnancy stories- she was feeling great, everything was normal, was counting down the last 4.5 weeks- and now she has a baby! To think I just saw her the other day and things were fine, and now she has a baby, is crazy to me. Made me a little scared that I will go a month early  I just kept thinking- how did she know she was in labor? Even if I thought I was in labor, if it was a month early I don't know if I'd let myself believe it's real! I guess you just know!
My hope is that I will deliver sometime after Christmas but before Superbowl Sunday (Feb. 5). I do not want to be 41 weeks pregnant!

Hello ladies!

I just thought I'd pop in and update everyone and hopefully hear some updates from y'all too.

I'm in my 8th month now, and it's getting pretty uncomfortable with all the round ligament pain. But I can still sleep well, so that makes me super happy LOL.

Next week I have my 35 week appointment, and they said they may do the Group B Strep test that week since I'll be almost 36 weeks. Is it painful/bad? After that I'll go to weekly appointments, so I'll be doing the living at the OB-GYN office routine. ;)

I asked about the chances of having a giant baby, and the doctor said I'm not on track to have one LOL. I measured normal this past time, so hopefully the 75th percentile thing was just a growth spurt. ;)

We've still got quite a bit left to do before Sweet Pea arrives, but with Christmas coming up it's getting hectic trying to finish it all. Oh well, it's fun too, even if it is stressful. :)

Glad to hear that you are doing well Elisabeth! Can you believe how far along we are already? :)

Things here are going well. This week I had an unexpected trip to the Dr's office. I had some bleeding after "relations" ;) with DH. Turns out my cervix was just very irritated which the Dr said is very normal in pregnancy due to increase blood flow to the area, but I had to go in for fetal monitoring and an ultrasound just to be on the safe side. All is well with our little guy, but we are not allowed to have any "relations" for the rest of the pregnancy.
I'm starting to get more uncomfortable but nothing too bad. I'm still having Braxton Hicks and can definitely tell that they are getting increasingly stronger as time goes by. I'm trying to stay as hydrated as possible and rest as much as I can.
Hope everyone is doing well and ready for the holidays!

Ahhhhhhhh! My daughter (18 months) has hand, foot and mouth disease! This is no big deal, but I should be avoiding contact with her since I'm pregnant.... Like that's humanly possible! Thanks for letting me vent!

Welcome! I'm sorry to hear you're on bedrest, but I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly!

No, I totally can't believe it! It seems like the first part of the pregnancy crawled by so slowly, but now it seems like it's flying by! I'm glad to hear that all looks well after your scare. I haven't had any Braxton Hicks that I know of, but my round ligament pain has become something fierce. Sometimes it will literally knock the breath out of me. But such is the third trimester LOL.

Baby girl is still nicely settled into the same position she's enjoyed since my 20th week. I know they say she can still move, but I'm thinking my stubborn gal may just stay this way permanently.

Ahhhhhhhh! My daughter (18 months) has hand, foot and mouth disease! This is no big deal, but I should be avoiding contact with her since I'm pregnant.... Like that's humanly possible! Thanks for letting me vent!

Yikes! I hope she feels better and you avoided it!

I didn't even know I was having Braxton Hicks. If I hadn't asked my Dr to explain to me what it felt like, I probably still wouldn't know that that is what is happening. I guess I thought it was the baby moving/pushing on me or round ligament pain. If you feel tightness/hardness in your belly, that is a contraction. You'll be able to physically feel your belly is very hard and tight. DH can even feel them if he puts his hand on my belly when I'm having one. Mine aren't lasting very long right now. You're also more likely to get them if you're dehydrated so you must be drinking lots of water! :thumbsup2

My belly doesn't usually feel super hard except for right in the middle where baby girl's spine is (you know, in her super favorite position LOL). Sometimes you can feel the actual vertebrae from the outside which I must admit it slightly creepy. ;)
