Weird!!

I am already going to the bathroom more than I did with Lucas.
I never got up in the middle of the night/had to run to the bathroom/etc. with Lucas until the last few weeks.

Man! Lucas kicked my belly earlier and I thought I was going to pee myself.

Oh my gosh! If it's not one thing, it's another, right? :lmao:

Kat - I hate to break it to you but this LO has NEVER moved off my bladder. It has actually gotten worse as I have gone further along. I have learned to control it with my liquid intake towards the end of the day. He will just pounce on my bladder or kick on my bladder. It's the oddest feeling ... I suddenly just HAVE TO GO but never really do, you know?? On the flip side I have no rib pain or no problem breathing, so that's something.

I am with you on that one! This kid is constantly punching my bladder, and honestly I don't even think she's that low. My others did kick my ribs more so I guess she is overall lower, but they were able to see her head just fine in yesterday's ultrasound, whereas with my son he was so low and wedged into my pelvis that they couldn't see his head and had to flip me on this table so my head was lower than my feet to try to get gravity to move him up a bit.

And I am also miserable at night, with every movement just hurting me for some reason. Every time I wake up to pee I hope I'll start contracting or my water will break just so I can end this misery.

Tarzan - I know I mentioned before that my kids share a room, but also, many of our friends kids do and they are boy/girl combos as well. It's just part of living inside the city I guess, in that no one here really has enough bedrooms to house all their kids individually. When we move this summer (which is now set in stone as my husband mailed in his contract last night :thumbsup2:scared1:) my kids can each have their own bedroom as we'll be able to afford an actual house (as opposed to the townhouse we're in now or the rowhouses that line our street and most streets in the city) that will have 4 bedrooms, but my daughter has already stated she is NOT sleeping alone. So she obviously likes sharing a room with her brother (though she has said she'd rather share with the baby when we move, but I think that's cause of the novelty that she'll be new more than anything) and has definitely not been harmed by it at any rate. My son is too little to really bring it up on his own, but I'll ask him tonight and see what he says.

And regarding my friend's kids, 1 family's daughter asked to move into her own room when she was 10yo and another when the daughter turned 9yo. In both cases the girls were older which is why I only mention their ages, but both have little brothers. Another family's oldest (also a girl) started asking around 7yo. They added a room onto their rowhouse, put the youngest in there, moved the oldest to the baby's old room, and the son stayed where he was. She is now 8yo and starts off in her own room each night but ends up in the top bunk in her brother's room every night.

And one other family has 3 girls, all in 1 room. They do have another bedroom, but opted to keep that a playroom and have all the kids sleep in the same room. At a birthday party their youngest, who was 3.5yo at the time, was talking to another little kid who said she didn't have any siblings and the 3.5yo's response to that was "So you have to sleep all alone at night!?! No sisters to stay in your room with you!?" ;)

So my point is don't stress too much about it. Sure, ideally they'll both have their own spaces, but it doesn't always work out right away and sometimes it seems to work out better.

BabyTigger - Our baby doesn't have a room yet either and won't till she's a good 6 months old and we move. She'll be sleeping basically like you described, in the cosleeper bassinet next to our bed. We have a crib and part of it is here, part of it in NJ at my mom's, but I am not setting it up here only to take it down in a couple of months.

Locolala - I agree, that is probably the worst craving ever! I did have a think for the Starbucks sausage, egg, and cheese sandwiches in the beginning and now when I see that sausage patty I feel ill at the thought of the grease!

I need to send out a bunch of emails to parents from the school regarding various room parent issues so I should get cracking. Figure I should settle all the class stuff now, rather than have this kid and then totally forget everything I have to do.

Thank you so much for those reassuring words. I know where we live it's the societal "norm" that you when you have another baby, you buy a house, and everyone should have their own bedrooms, my goodness! ;)

But I really love where we live, and I love the freedom of renting. When things break, it's not my responsibility to fix them, and this complex has an excellent maintenance staff. Things are handled in a timely fashion and efficiently. It's a great town, great schools, great place to raise kids.

So thanks for letting me know that the kiddos like share a room, even if they are different genders. I guess I worry about the teen years, but I know those are pretty far off, so really I should cut myself some slack.

Well, it looks like my wait for this little one may be over. I had my weekly appointment this morning and I'm 3-4 cm with contractions. My doctor sent me home to finalize things here, and told me that she thinks I should be having this baby within 24 hours. She says all the signs point that way, and I can definately feel these contractions. I have been so miserable with this pregnancy, but knowing that this baby is coming, has scared me to death. Plus I am really not fond of all this pain. Well, just wanted to give a quick update.

Congrats, apress! I hope we hear some exciting news from you soon! Good luck with a smooth, easy delivery.

That is my hope every night....sigh.....

The not knowing scares me a lot!!!

Good luck to you! Can't wait to hear about your little one :goodvibes

Good luck Apress!
I've been feeling really good the past week or so. Spike has been kicking a lot more in the past few days. I've been actively wogging and doing wii fit. I am asking the dr. on Friday for official approval do wogg the princess half in march (about 6 weeks before i'm due).
We aren't going to have a nursery until Spike is about 5 months old. Our house has chinese drywall and in June we are moving out for three months (going to my parents house for a bit and then an extended stay place) while they knock everything down and rebuild.

Jenn - I hate paps in general, but I got 2 while pregnant and that was even more annoying. This time I had one done in March so when this kid was conceived I was already set. Good luck!

It is done thank God! I actually told my OB that is was down right pleasant compared to all the IUI procedures. I always felt like the nurse was cracking open a turkey when she did them!

Glad that your U/S went well... sounds like you are almost there! :cool1:

Jenn,
My MW won't do paps for me when I am pregnant because if it causes any type of spotting she knows I will be sick with worry. My gyne was doing them every regularly so I am okay. I'll have my next by the MW 6 weeks after this baby is born.

My good news for today is my appt. at the diabetes clinic went well and they are not putting me on insulin yet. I have another appt. next Monday and they will monitor my weekly levels.
*whew* what a load off my mind. Hard work to eat "diabetic" but it has been worth it.
I lost 5 lbs which the doctor thinks is mostly water from less sodium from eating real food. My ankles are not swollen anymore either.

No bleeding KiKi, thank goodness. I too, would have been a wreck. I have already miscarried in the past so I am always on the hunt for blood.

:cool1:for no insulin yet... hopefully you can hold off and your body will "fix" itself after you deliver! Good luck! :goodvibes

I'm not really up on shower etiquette. My husband did come at the end because his family lives far away and for him not to see his mother / sisters / aunts would have been silly.

I think just about every shower I have been to the father showed up at the end to say thank you and to help bring the gifts home. I have never seen one bring flowers but that is an awfully sweet touch. Someone want to call my husband and tell him that idea? LOL!

Hey Ladies! I am not currently pregnant - nor plan to be - but I just found out I am going to be an aunt again! I am so excited!!!!!! i thought this would be a good place to share that excitement!!!!

Congratualtions! :goodvibes

Best wishes with everything apress! *raises glass of sparkling water* Here's to a speedy, pain free delivery!

So glad that you are getting rid of that crap! :thumbsup2

No, YOU need to be pregnant so we can be pregnant together and our kids can think the other is them!! :rotfl:

Congrats!

Good luck, apress!!

On another note, I have never heard of getting paps done during pregnancy. How odd! My doctor waited til I had delivered to give me one. Is this a common thing to have them or am I just out of the loop? :dance3:

I don't know if it's common or not, but in my case it was because the 1st 2 kids weren't really planned so I was due for the pap and had put off my regular exam so they did it then. I don't think it's any sort of standard though and I didn't have one this time.

My OB did my pap at my 10wk appointment with Lucas.

My appt. on the 26th was originally for my annual and I assume she'll do another pap.

I thought it was strange, too.

I had to have a pap. I think in NC it's one of the things legally required when you start at the OB, unless you're current. Since I've been with a specialist, I was 6mos or so overdue.

Catching up with everyone here...

Apress, good luck to you!

I'm officially not working now. Doctor told me to stop working for the rest of my pregnancy. My BP has squeaked up and so I get lots of bedtime now. Not officially on bedrest yet!

I have Gestational diabetes, and at the u/s on Monday, they measured my "little" guy at 6 lb 10 oz... holy cow!!! We still have 4 more weeks until the C section!!! Am I glad I am having that instead of natural birth... I'm afraid he's going to weigh 14 lbs by the time this is over! :rotfl:

I think I've got the nursery all together. My mom feels as though I am incapable of washing all the baby's clothes so she took them home with her to wash. :thumbsup2 I am not complaining though!!!

Can I ask you what activities you do on the Wii Fit? :goodvibes I was nervous about using it because I don't want to mistakenly do something that will hurt the baby. I know that may sound silly, but I know there are certain things that shouldn't be done, you know what I mean? I have prenatal yoga DVD and I can tell how the poses are modified compared to my regular yoga.

Get lots of rest, hon! And wow, the little guy is getting big. Congrats on mom taking all the clothes to wash. Less work in my book is always a big plus! :thumbsup2

Well, today I had my first trimester screening which involved an ultrasound and blood test. My parents and my son (four years old, five next month) came along, and it was so wonderful to share with them.

Everything looks really good so far, and I got to see my little bean moving around like crazy. I'm always amazed when I see the baby. I have been through this before, obviously, but it's still a miracle to me that there's a tiny little life growing inside me. We got to hear the heartbeat and that was awesome.

DH had to work, so he wasn't able to make it, so it was nice to have my folks there. We all went out to dinner afterwards, and it really was a great day.
