Had my weekly appointment today...dilated another centimeter. So that puts me at 3 currently. Doctor thinks he may come in the next week Did have a bit of a scary moment...when she listened to his heartbeat she said it was lower than usual and put me on the monitor for about 20 minutes. At first his heart rate was a little low but then they used this buzzer/vibrating thing and that woke him right up. He was probably just sleeping she said but wanted to make sure everything was okay. So he's fine but I was a little freaked for a minute there, thinking something might be wrong with my baby. Luckily, all is well. And when I was strapped to the monitor it showed that I was having some contractions too. I didn't even feel them though Shows how much I know

so I had my ultrasound this morning and got to see the baby and hear the heartbeat this time! It was wonderful and I got all teary eyed! they gave me a picture to take home with me too.

As for the spotting, the ultrasound tech said that she saw an area where she thought the bleeding might have been from. She said that I should limit my activity until I see the nurse next week (that's my first official appointment there. the ultrasounds were unexpected!) So I'm not allowed to vacuum. I let DH know right away that he's in charge of that now

I am so nauseous today. blah.... but for some reason after reading all the pineapple posts I want some.... hmmm...

I have an ultrasound tomorrow morning at 8 and am nervous about it. I was having some discharge/spotting last week so they had me come in just to check it out. I got to see the baby then and see the heartbeat (they couldn't get the sound at that time, too early) but they want me to come back to see if the pregnancy is viable. Just crossing my fingers because at times I still can't believe that I'm pregnant.

Plus I just found my perfect job online. My local library is hiring for a library clerk. I can't even explain how that is my dream job! I'm a reading fanatic. I'm going to apply tmw. Fingers crossed again!!!

You know I am a children's librarian right? Let me know if you need any advice or if I can help at all.

So Dh and the jury are diliberating right now...they are trying to finish mainly for me. if I happen to go into labor this weekend, they'll have to start the trial completely over!! WhyTH would they take the chance?! we told them the day he got the summons when i was due! Idiots.

Hopefully he'll be home sometime soon!

I was alone for office test but SIL went to hospital. She passed hospital test and woke up. Now I am holding my beautiful healthy baby.

Thanks! It was scary but luckily my mom had asked to come with me to my appointment today so I had her there to keep me calm. If I'd had to go to the hospital that probably would have freaked me out more though! Luckily the doctor said he's doing just fine.

And I'm trying to hang in there! I know the end is near...I just can't wait to have him here, safe in my arms


Sarah, I hope your DH gets home soon! That IS really dumb. If they knew your due date was so close and that they may have to start over completely, why not just wait? Seems pretty pointless to me. Hopefully they'll be done soon though!

Hulagirl, glad to hear that everything went well with your U/S! It's so comforting to see and hear the heartbeat and know that your little one is doing well isn't it?

ETA: Forgot to mention, today was my last day of work!! I was so excited to leave LOL. Three whole months away from that place! I was glad for the break. Course I'll still be working just in a different kind of way

HomeSweetDisney - I would have been freaked out to have that test done too. Pregnancy really never gets 'easy' to where you can just relax and enjoy it. How exciting, though, to know that you might be holding little Jacob next week! Is your daughter excited at this point? Mine is so excited right now (she's just about the same age as yours), but when it gets closer to delivery and she has that realization that she will permanently have another sibling I'm not so sure the excitment will stay!

Hulagirl - Glad to hear everything went well and that you got a photo of your little one already.

My 1st appt is next week too, and I have 2 ultrasounds before it as well. I think I'll cancel the 2nd one, as it's for dating purposes and it's the day after the 1st trimester screening and it seems kind of silly to go back for it. The only reason I have left it alone as of yet is that my husand is working overnight Monday, when the screening is, so he'll miss out on that, but since he'll get home by 8am Tuesday, he can come to that one. I'm not entirely sure how much he cares though, not that he doesn't care about the baby, but being the 3rd one I know the novelty of ultrasounds has worn off a bit. So we'll see what I end up doing.

My son is hard at work destroying the room so I should go. He literally can cause damage just by walking through a room, amazing. I am praying my husband is home by noon today (he was called into work at 7am) cause I am not up for single parenting all day.

Morning everyone!

I'm finally feeling pregnant...my belly is really getting in the way of things now. My left foot is swelling to the size of a football (ok I'm exagerating somewhat) but I can put my right foot up at work and my left foot is down all the time so I guess I need something to put my left foot up onto now. So my left foot suffers. I did find out at my last appointment that I get the Strep test at 36 weeks and I don't have any internals until 38 weeks. The baby is moving a lot more too!

Sarah- I have a question and I posted it on the CB but I know you can probably help. Do you know of a really good childrens book about death/coping with death? My niece and nephew are about to experience the death of their very young grandmother to melanoma cancer. They haven't any idea that she is about to die-- but that she is sick, and will continue to get sicker. They havent experienced death before (not even that of a pet)... so I thought that I could get them a few books for when the time comes (Ages 4 and 8)

For the 8 year old
Saying Goodbye to Grandma by Jane Resh Thomas

There are a bunch of GREAT books for adults to help them talk to children--I would definitely get a couple of those out of the library. For many children generalized books aren't good enough to help with their specific situation, so the adult books can be super helpful.

So DH managed to get the rest of the jury to agree with him and it's over! So DH will be able to come to my big appointment on Monday where we decide if I'm going to be induced on Wednesday or Thursday or not at all.

I cleaned the whole house yesterday...I guess I was nesting...lol I can think of a lot of things that still need to be done though. I'll be eating a LOT of pineapple this weekend. lol

I had an early miscarriage in March but didn't get a hint of a line until 11DPO then. My LP tends to be short so I think the baby didn't have enough time to snuggle in before my body prepared for AF. I had a beta on Thursday and again today, we'll get those results on Monday.

I had a beta on Thursday and again today, we'll get those results on Monday.
