Appointment update:

Looks like I'm going to be induced between the 22-24. My Dr is on vacation or something my 40th week, so she said we can either induce one of those days or I can try to wait and go natural and have the chance she won't be there...and if I don't go before she gets back, she'll want to induce me as soon as she comes back. So I have an appointment Monday of that week to make sure I've progressed and conditions are favorable--if not she won't induce me. I haven't really had any progression so far, but I have had a little BH this week, which she said is a good sign.

I've been with this Dr for 16 years and she's going to deliver my baby-dang it!

(And I'm still under 200 pounds! Though, I'm really close...lol)

Wow, how exciting! Lily will be here before you know it!

And Jacob too! Isn't it insane!? :scared:

How are you feeling?

We have our hospital tour tomorrow night. :thumbsup2

I know, it is insane! I keep thinking "wow it's really only a few weeks away" :scared1:

I am feeling...eh. Just tired all the time. And I've been getting a lot of braxton-hicks and soreness down below. Hopefully I won't have any issues getting labor going since I've been pretty active throughout my pregnancy.

How about you? How have you been feeling lately?

Pretty much exactly what you described! All the sudden I'm a LOT more tired than I was...

Sarah, how exciting to have a possible induction date set up! And it is coming so close too, that is great news.

I have a question about how big I should be looking at this point. With my 1st 2, I had no belly at 9 weeks, nothing at all. With my 1st I was about 16 weeks when I got a pouch that was sorta visible and my 2nd I was 17 weeks before I looked at all bigger. This time though, I already have a visible belly and have gained 3 lbs. The belly isn't from the weight gain, at least not for the most part, but that my uterus seems to be high already and pushing things up. I imagine that my body just remembers what to do, but I am not thrilled about it at all. Did anyone else start getting bigger by this point?

I remind myself that I weigh 10-20lbs less than I did with the 2nd and 1st, respectively, so that probably has something to do with it, but still. At this rate, I'll need my maternity stuff within the month and it's all at my mom's house in NJ and I can't go up there till August 1st. With a summer and winter baby already, I have more than enough stuff so I really don't want to have to buy anything new for this one, but I'm not gonna last much longer in my regular stuff.

How's the recovery from the tubal going? Do you think it's easiest to have it done when you give birth? My friend is getting one done next month and looking for reports from others.

Having the tubal done while I was in the hospital was great. I am told the tubes are easier to access right after having a baby. My incision is only about an inch long right along the bottom of my belly-button. The worst part for me was waiting for an available O/R to become open. I could not eat or drink from midnight the previous night till 5:10pm the following day, the only other annoying thing was dragging around an IV pole till I got the surgery. It seems some DRs are diff and will do the procedure during deliver. Mine would only do it the next day unless I delivered by C-section.

Tell your friend to do it, if they are done having kids. I could not imagine going back in 6 weeks for another procedure with worrying about two little ones. It has been a week and I feel great and had no trouble taking care of a 2.5 year old and an infant.

I had a tubal a couple of hours after delivery. It was supposed to be immediately after, but I had to wait on an OR. They kept the epidural in, and just upped the meds. I didn't get to see Katie until afterward (they thought I would be in and out in 30 min when they took her to the nursery), but I was able to nurse her in recovery when she was 3 hrs old. I had to fast from midnight on for the delivery, so I would have hated to have to fast the next day too! I was starving by the time I got to eat-around 7pm that night. I also have about an inch scar under my belly button.

One of my cousin's had her's done the next day after delivery and her incision was inside her belly button, so no visible scars,

I think everyone and every pregnancy is different. I know that the women I see all the time who are on their second and especially their third child started showing a lot earlier than first timers...

We are too quiet today!

We had a big program at the library this afternoon with about a 100 people...I was on my feet for almost 2 hours and I started getting cramps...fun times! Luckily it's my last program! Yay!

Anyone know anything about the 1st 4 ladies on the list? I'm guessing at least some of them have delivered by now, right?

We're heading to Philly and Sesame Place this weekend and I can't say I'm looking forward to it. I dont think I can ride water slides and that's most of the park, and walking around in the heat in a sketchy amusement park holds little appeal. We have tickets from last summer though so we might as well go and this is the only weekend my husband has off. Hopefully it won't be as bad as I'm expecting. Of course, if I could get through a day without vomiting, dry heaving, starving, feeling sick and exhausted, then I'm sure the trip would go well. :lmao: Odds are that won't happen though.

I know that Gator Mickey and Ride Junkie used to post, but I haven't seen either for a while...

So I think I'm having some contractions, but they are across the belly--major tightening and some pain, but I don't feel much south of there...lol

Does that sound right? Some BH?

Congrats! Like Sarah, I won't be around too much longer either but there's a great group of ladies here and it's awesome to be able to talk to all the other mommies to be.

P.S. March 8th is an awesome day...that's my birthday too :teeth:

I thought I read somewhere that BH aren't supposed to be painful. Just the tightening and that's it. The ones I have had haven't been painful. Maybe you should call your doc or the on call nurse just to be on the safe side?

My BH contractions were tightening and pain in my belly, and only in the belly. My real contractions extended to my back with my daughter. With my son they were only the belly, but worse than the BH contractions and not much time between them. Did you try drinking a lot of water quickly and walking around? They suggested that when I was in labor with my daughter cause I guess if I wasn't then the water and walking would make them stop.

One thing though, I had BH contractions starting from 16 weeks. If this is the first time you're getting them, then I'd definitely try hydrating and walking to see if anything picks up or stops. In my case, since I had them for months, I knew the difference between them and real labor contractions.
