Congrats! Like Sarah, I won't be around too much longer either but there's a great group of ladies here and it's awesome to be able to talk to all the other mommies to be.

P.S. March 8th is an awesome day...that's my birthday too :teeth:

Thank you!! I'm sure they are! I can't wait to get all the info and chat about it all. Aww thats great what a great day!! :flower3:

So I think I'm having some contractions, but they are across the belly--major tightening and some pain, but I don't feel much south of there...lol

Does that sound right? Some BH?

That is all mine ever were, until I got to about 5cm and then it was back labor so hard to differentiate.

The first few rounds I had (that got me to 3cm) I didn't even feel, so I don't have a lot to go off.. sorry!

Sounds like something might be happening though, yay! The further you get on your own the easier an induction will be (just saw your Facebook!) so thats awesome.

Keep us updated!!! :goodvibes

Now back to my lurking. :)

Thank you! Aww thats great a day be for mine, ya I have my first apt July 24 so I'll know actually when my due date is. But I looked online and it said March 8th. Ya its pretty much the same, aren't most first babies late? I'm feeling good I woke up this morning not feeling so great. And I've been tired wanting to go back to bed, but other then that I'm great! :flower3:

I'm not sure if most 1st babies are late or not. It's weird cause many people told me that with my first, but she was born 15 days early. But my 2nd was born at 36 weeks so that might just be me. We had a Disney cruise planned for mid June and needed my daughter to be 12 weeks by then so I was praying she wouldn't be more than a week late and was getting so freaked out when people would tell me she'd be late, but I was lucky!

Hi everyone!! I'm new to this board my name is Ashley I just recently found out that I'm pregnant with our first :cloud9: They say I'm due march 8 2010. I'm recently married June 6 2009 in Disney and me and my DH live in atlanta,ga. Can't wait to read more and find out all I can. :flower3:

I had BH contractions a lot toward the end--ugh. I sure don't miss that! Mine weren't painful, though. I'm sure they can be for many women. The big thing is if contractions keep coming regularly and/or if they don't go away when you change position (lie down, etc--I usually got them when I was walking around).

You might call your doc to make sure. :)

Sarah, how exciting to have a possible induction date set up! And it is coming so close too, that is great news.

I have a question about how big I should be looking at this point. With my 1st 2, I had no belly at 9 weeks, nothing at all. With my 1st I was about 16 weeks when I got a pouch that was sorta visible and my 2nd I was 17 weeks before I looked at all bigger. This time though, I already have a visible belly and have gained 3 lbs. The belly isn't from the weight gain, at least not for the moyt part, but that my uterus seems to be high already and pushing things up. I imagine that my body just remembers what to do, but I am not thrilled about it at all. Did anyone else start getting bigger by this point?

I remind myself that I weigh 10-20lbs less than I did with the 2nd and 1st, respectively, so that probably has something to do with it, but still. At this rate, I'll need my maternity stuff within the month and it's all at my mom's house in NJ and I can't go up there till August 1st. With a summer and winter baby already, I have more than enough stuff so I really don't want to have to buy anything new for this one, but I'm not gonna last much longer in my regular stuff.

I am almost 9 weeks and I am already showing. I haven't gained any weight yet, but my belly is visibly showing. I can also feel my uterus, which is getting quite large! However, I haven't had much time for my uterus to shrink back down, so I think that has a lot to do with it!

My BH contractions were tightening and pain in my belly, and only in the belly. My real contractions extended to my back with my daughter. With my son they were only the belly, but worse than the BH contractions and not much time between them. Did you try drinking a lot of water quickly and walking around? They suggested that when I was in labor with my daughter cause I guess if I wasn't then the water and walking would make them stop.

One thing though, I had BH contractions starting from 16 weeks. If this is the first time you're getting them, then I'd definitely try hydrating and walking to see if anything picks up or stops. In my case, since I had them for months, I knew the difference between them and real labor contractions.

Thanks everyone!! I should have been more specific. I only had a little bit of pain and it was more like intense pressure than pain. I moved around a bit and I was fine. She was VERY active last night, so I had her moving plus the tightening and pressure. When she gets like that, I have DH come over to the belly and he "plays" with her and she usually settles down. They were playing tag. He would poke a toe and she'd kick at him and then he would tickle her butt, and she'd wiggle it. She loves his voice, it settles her right down. I think I need to talk to her more though! :thumbsup2

They are definitely BH and it is the first time I've had anything like them during my pregnancy, so I just wanted to confirm my thoughts with all of you.:grouphug:

Glad to know I'm not alone! I had nearly 3 years between my son and this one so I am sure my uterus started out fairly normally, but wow has it grown quickly!

How have you been feeling lately?

It's so cute that your DH is already playing with her. :rotfl: My DH would put a hand on my belly and DD would stop moving, almost every time. He rarely got to feel her moving.

Those BH contractions were so annoying for me. I had them from December through DD's birth in February. So count yourself lucky you've just started!

That's how it was for him in the beginning...she stopped moving as soon as anyone except me put pressure on the belly...now she doesn't care. :thumbsup2

I just hope that they actually are doing something! It stands to reason that since they are just starting for me that maybe they are helping me progress. And I really want to progress a lot before I get induced.

I don't really want to be induced, but I want her here so DH can be with us as long as possible before school starts.

I have been sooooo sick. How about you? It lasted forever with my son, and I hope that doesn't happen again! We are flying out to NY this Saturday for 9 days. With a 7 month old and a very sick pregnant me! :scared1: I hope I start to feel better soon! We will be traveling all day long!

No showing yet for me, just my normal fat!! I will be 11 weeks on Saturday. I am hoping to stay in my "normal" clothes as long as possible! With my first, I didn't start showing until almost 6 months, but I was sooo sick the entire pregnancy, so I am sure that is why!!

Add me to the incredibly sick club as well. With my first 2 the sickness lasted till about 18 weeks, so I know I still have awhile to go this time. Of course, it started sooner with this one though, 3 weeks as opposed to 5.5 with the other 2, so I'm a little concerned that it might last even longer or something. Enjoy your trip, I hope it goes well. I flew last month and it was not enjoyable, but at least I didn't vomit on the plane like I did with #2.

With my 2nd I didn't show at all till 17 weeks, and even then it was a slight bump. I was sickest with him, but a very close 2nd this time but I already have a nice pouch going on.

Tomorrow I have to go into for the Rhogam shot, so I hear it burns... :(

I am such a baby!

It didn't hurt at all! (Honestly it was more painful when they took three vials of blood for the GD test two weeks prior...) She was putting a bandaid on the needle spot and I was still going on and on about how everyone tells me it hurts really bad and she's like "honey, your done already". :rotfl:

Don't stress over it!

Hi! :goodvibes Hope no one minds, but I'm joining this thread and very excited about it! a little about me... My name is Amy and DH and I were married at the Yacht Club 2 years ago. This is our first baby and we still can't believe it.

I'm not feeling sick yet (knock on wood) but I'm really tired. I feel like I have a million questions and concerns so I hope no one minds if I ask!

Congratulations! Good to see another Rochesterian here :)

Hi All,

Caramia Jo arrived last Wednesday, July 1st. She was 7 lbs, 13 oz and 20 in long.

My scheduled c-section went as planned, but nothing after that did. I got to hold her briefly after birth while they were sewing me up. Then my husband took her to the nursery and the issues started. She had a very high respiratory rate, so she was taken to the special care nursery (NICU) and placed under an oxygen hood that went over her entire head. She was x-rayed and fluid was found throughout her lungs and there was one spot in particular that looked like it could be pnuemonia. So she was placed on antibiotics as well. I didn't see her again until later that evening (she was born at 8:40 am). The oxygen dome produces so much condensation though that you couldn't even see her face. You could see her chest though and she had very labored breathing. The second day under the dome I could not stimulate her at all - I could place my hand on her arm or leg but no stroking her at all or talking to her. That was so hard! Finally the 3rd day, July 4th, I was able to hold her for the first time since her birth because she was taken off the dome and a nasal cannula (oxygen tube in the nose) was placed on her. I was also able to breastfeed at that point and she latched on great. Up until then she was fed my pumped breast milk through a feeding tube.

Anyway, she was weaned off the oxygen a couple days later and then we only had to get through the 7 day antibiotic treatment. She was finally discharged yesterday and we are home now. It has been a long week, but she is healthy and happy and we are so relieved.

I will try to post some pictures later, once I figure out how to do it.

Hope all is well with all of you. I have a lot of catching up to do.
