Okay, so I am 6 weeks pregnant today. Can I say that I really wish I would started FEELING pregnant?? Maybe it has been so long since I was pregnant (my DS will be 10 in September) that I forgot what I felt like, but I feel fine, like nothing is different!

Please, please enjoy it while you can!! Maybe you'll be super lucky and get to feel that way through most of it. I would have loved to felt good in the beginning--especially during my WDW trip at 8 weeks.

Baby Shower stuff:
I'll post pics later...

Where to start...we got so much stuff that we filled up our Saturn Vue AND our friend's Nissan Pathfinder...and the biggest thing was the pack N Play!! So you can imagine a LOT of stuff. MY SIL did a special raffle for those who brought books or diapers and we got a ton of both...and no duplicate books! Yay!

My Bff (the one who miscarried) got me a Vera Bradley diaper bag that I LOVE...I'm not a huge VB fan, but I really like one particular pattern that my friend actually remembered after I told her once!

I have to run up to kohl's to get a new water bottle (mine isn't BPA free!), but when i come back I'll post pics of some of the super cool stuff.
Oh and FIL painted a beautiful toy chest with the disney fairies, so I'll post some pics of that! More soon!

Hon, I'm 26 weeks and I still don't feel pregnant! :rotfl:

I'm in the same boat, 22 weeks and I just feel fat. If the baby wasn't kicking I'd think that I just gained a bunch of weight, which is also wierd because I haven't actually gained much, I guess it has just all repositioned itself.

Harleyquinn, can't wait to see the pics from your shower!!!

Well, I'm off to try to find something to wear to a baseball game tonight that looks like it fits. Wish me luck. Ugh.

Okay- I just ordered our birth announcements off of VistaPrint so I'll report back when I get them.

They've got a pretty awesome sale going on right now (90% off) and I found a link for free shipping if I spent $50. Well, the announcements and shipping would have been $47 so I spent the last hour digging through trying to get $50 worth of stuff!

I ended up with...
10 2010 Calendar Magents
420 Address Labels
70 Two-Sided (with color and photo) baby announcements w/ envelopes
4 Two-Sided (with color and photo) keychains

..for $53 shipped. I'll let you guys know!! :)

I agree with everyone!! I'm 21 weeks and barely feel pregnant. I have actually lost 10 lbs but I feel fatter. . . guess it is just baby pushing out my fluffiness. I feel the baby SOME - but it is some light kicks/vibrations in my lower abdomen - I feel her most when she is on my bladder. I spent all day yesterday worried because I didn't feel her - then I heard her heartbeat and was relieved and then started to feel her, lol.

Anyhow, don't stress it. . . I'm sure you'll "feel" pregnant in no time.

I was having all-day sickness at 6 weeks though. . . from 6 weeks to about 12/13 weeks. I still get nauseous sometimes, but not as bad as feeling sick all day for weeks on end. Be thankful you aren't feeling that, enjoy it :)

I really doubt that you can do any amount of actual cleaning to a mattress. Anything really nasty spilled on it isn't going to be able to 'clean' out. Assuming that it has no stains or smells, I would just put on a mattress protector and keep on stepping. If it had stains or any smellage, it would end up at the dump.
Baby Mattresses (or atleast this one) are different from mattresses like you and I have on our bed. They don't have fabric on the outside (whereas if you were to pee on your mattress.. it would go through and be really hard to get out). If I were to pee on this mattress... it would just sit on the top. It has a plastic top that seems to help waterproof it. It doesnt have any stains and doesn't smell at all! Im definitely going to disinfect with lots of clorox wipies! I typically wouldn't take this from just anyone... but the plastic on the outside along with price kind of sold me on it!
It took me three reads of your post to realize that you were agreeing with me, just in a strange way. :thumbsup2

I am 6 weeks and 1 day. We are leaving for Disney in 6 days!! A little earlier than we expected for a baby, but it is a blessing. :rotfl:

I lost 20 pounds in my first trimester with my first one and I'm hoping not to do the same with this one. Good luck to the each of you and can't wait to share magic moments with you all! :goodvibes

Hi everyone!

Piecey, it seems you went through quite an ordeal! I'm so thankful that everything worked out alright!

Harleyquin, have fun at your shower!

Thanks to whoever posted the Babies R Us link, I forgot who it was!

Question: DH and I are thinking about taking a trip to Disney pretty last minute, basically the first week of July as an official "babymoon" At that time I will be right about 6 months along. Are we completely insane? Any thoughts?

I went in March at 6 months... it was great. I had a ton of energy and I wasn't huge yet. Yes, there are rides that you can't go on, but there are plenty that you can do. If you feel good and are not at high risk, go for it:thumbsup2

Welcome and congratulations!!!!

I know from experience having a 2 year old DS and being pregnant is not easy. I am surviving with 2 weeks left, rest an dtake it easy when you can.

I was just lurking on the New Mom's thread and saw that Rparm had her baby last Monday...so that moves me to number two position on the list!!
I know it seems like three weeks ago I joined this thread!!!:rotfl:

Hope everyone is feeling well....I am so tired and have not been up to much DISing. Keep you all posted on my status.

Valerie, thinking of you and those precious little ones.

Ann

Ann- If you are 2 on the list, that makes me 3:yay::scared1::woohoo: I don't know if I should laugh or cry. I feel like I have soooo much to get done before she gets here. I just wish I could get a good nights sleep. I'm pooped! We had a lot of running around to do on Saturday and it really kicked my butt. I told my husband I felt "Disney" tired.

I also went to my birthing class on Saturday morning. First half was great, very interesting. The last half, not so much. Kinda a waste of time but oh well.

I have my next doctors app't on Tuesday:thumbsup2

Oh- I almost forgot. I had my first contraction last night. It was very mild. Something tells me, they won't stay that way.

I have given up on alot of things I wanted to get done before hand. DH has been to busy to paint and for me to move DS out of the nursery into his big boy room. At least I have a play pen ready to go for the baby in my bedroom. I feel so behind it is not funny. I have the basics ready and know I will get by when she is here. That is the beauty of having a two year old, I did not need much. I did put a beach towel down on my mattress, to prepare in case my water brakes like last time.

My goal for today is packing bags for DS and myself. See if that happens.

I have not had any contractions yet, and don't think I have dropped at all.
I am just exhausted, my next appointment is Thursday. I can't wait to see if the internal shows if I am doing anything.

Good luck at the Dr, fill us in when you can.

Ann

Welcome!
What's your due date.

Sorry about not posting pics yet...yesterday just got away from me.

Summer reading started today at the library and we are crazy busy, so I might not be able to check in as much this week.

My co-worker sent this to me:
1st baby: You begin wearing maternity clothes as soon as your OB/GYN confirms your pregnancy.
2nd baby: You wear your regular clothes for as long as possible.
3rd baby: Your maternity clothes ARE your regular clothes.
____________________________________________________

Preparing for the Birth:

1st baby: You practice your breathing religiously.
2nd baby: You don't bother because you remember that last time, breathing didn't do a thing.
3rd baby: You ask for an epidural in your eighth month.
__________________________________________ ____________

The Layette:

1st baby: You pre-wash newborn's clothes, color-coordinate them, and fold them neatly in the baby's little bureau.
2nd baby: You check to make sure that the clothes are clean and discard only the ones with the darkest stains.
3rd baby: Boys can wear pink, can't they?
______________________________________________________

Worries:

1st baby: At the first sign of distress--a whimper, a frown--you pick up the baby
2nd baby: You pick the baby up when her wails threaten to wake your firstborn.
3rd baby: You teach your three-year-old how to rewind the mechanical swing.
______________________________________________________

Pacifier:

1st baby: If the pacifier falls on the floor, you put it away until you can go home and wash and boil it.
2nd baby: When the pacifier falls on the floor, you squirt it off with some juice from the baby's bottle.
3rd baby: You wipe it off on your shirt and pop it back in.
______________ ________________________________________

Diapering:

1st baby: You change your baby's diapers every hour, whether they need it or not.
2nd baby: You change their diaper every two to three hours, if needed.
3rd baby: You try to change their diaper before others start to complain about the smell or you see it sagging to their knees.
_______________________________________________________

Activities

1st baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics, Baby Swing, Baby Zoo, Baby Movies and Baby Story Hour.
2nd baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics.
3rd baby: You take your infant to the supermarket and the dry cleaners.
_____________________________ _________________________

Going Out:

1st baby: The first time you leave your baby with a sitter, you call home five times.
2nd baby: Just before you walk out the door, you remember to leave a number where you can be reached.
3rd baby: You leave instructions for the sitter to call only if she sees blood.
______________________________________________________

At Home:
1st baby: You spend a good bit of every day just gazing at the baby.
2nd baby: You spend a bit of everyday watching to be sure your older child isn't squeezing, poking, or hitting the baby.
3rd baby: You spend a little bit of every day hiding from the children
______________________________________________________

Swallowing Coins (a favorite):

1st child: When first child swallows a coin, you rush the child to the hospital and demand x-rays
2nd child: When second child swallows a coin, you carefully watch for the coin to pass.
3rd child: When third child swallows a coin you deduct it from his allowance!
