Moms to Be Part 3

We're trying to buy a house but we've had two sellers back out on us. It's frustrating. We have fabulous credit, we have the loan lined up, we're ideal buyers - but we just can't find a break. The baby's due in three months so we're starting to get nervous.

Sleep? What's that? I feel like I toss & turn all night long. My hips just kill me, I stay on one side til I can't stand it anymore & then switch to the other side, til I can't stand that side anymore & repeat -- ALL NIGHT LONG. Grrrr. I get to pick which kid currently get squooshed, left side- boy, right side- girl.

So had my weekly OB appt. I'm almost 24 weeks, slowly creeping along. And my belly is measuring about 33 cm -- so about 33 weeks. Good news I guess is that I'm now bigger than I ever got with my son, he was about the size of a 28 weeker at 26 1/2 weeks. So I get to be large & uncomfortable a whole lot longer than most, great. I also got the nasty orange drink, to do the GTT next week. My appt is at 9:30 -- the kids will be jumpin' next week, I'm certain. I'll have to get up early so I can eat something protein heavy before I have to drink the orange stuff.

So my doc OK'd short jaunts out of the house, no hours spent on my feet, but quick runs to the store or drive thru, fine. Good thing too. DH pretty much has had me on house arrest the past 2 weeks. It was making me crazy. I wouldn't stand up well to strict bedrest, I can tell you that much. I would have to be hospitalized if that were the need. Hopefully we don't get there.

I'm glad you can leave the house! I had a few contractions after a particularly stressful day at work last week and I was sent to bed when I got home. I thought it would be a nice break. It was...for about 20 minutes. Everything has been OK since then and thank goodness because apparently I am not the strict bedrest type either. I'm glad everything is 'so far, so good' with your pregnancy and the babies. And I can't imagine how your hips must ache at night because mine are killing me and I just have one in there. Take care of yourself and those babies!

Well, the cankles showed up a few weeks late but they're here.

My first package of forumla checks (the Nestle stuff, Good Start, I think?) and a can of Similac Advance came, too.

... got the paper today where I work. They don't have a Sunday edition, so coupons are in Saturdays paper, and there are 2 Huggies Coupons
1- $1.50 off Huggies Diapers
1- $3.00 off Huggies Pure and Natural
There are also coupons for Pull Ups, Goodnites, Little Swimmers, etc. for those of you with older kids who use those things.

There were more coupons than there have been in weeks past so I went and got another paper, there were good coupons for other non-baby stuff.

Is anyone able to continue to semi-sleep on their bellies??

I am a stomach sleeper-- and me, at 23 weeks, can still sleep somewhat on my stomach. Not completely... but on my side I hug a big pillow with my arms and kind of turn my stomach over, I just keep my leg arched some (not sure if that makes sense). If it wasnt for that-- id be getting no sleep at all!

I still sleep like this, only with a microbead pillow thing tucked underneath my belly. I lay on my side, tuck it by my belly and roll on top of it. It works well. I've got one on each side so I can roll from side-to-side without any issues.
I've not really ever had issues sleeping, though. It's all issues getting out of our huge bed to pee. :rotfl:

Moving to the new house tonight... watch me wake up and forget where I am when I get up at 2am and fall down the stairs.

Hey ladies!!!

I've been MIA, just haven't been on the DIS that much, too much to get done before baby bean arrives!!!

I'm 36 weeks now, still don't have a crib, changing table, or anywhere to put all her clothes (which are washed finally!) I still need to install the carseat too LOL. I'm feeling overwhelmed to say the least AND we have no name picked out yet either LOL!!!

The good news is I'm not feeling like I'll have her anytime soon LOL.

And I totally hear ya on the sleep. :( Lie on one side, hips hurt, roll to other side which takes major effort in itself and try again. Then hips hurt again, repeat, throw in a few (like 4) bathroom breaks in the middle of the night, ugg!! AND getting out of bed at 2am to pee takes all my strength LOL!

We are home! Everything went well. I'll post more when Katie decides I'm allowed to put her down!princess:

You know.. even right up until I delivered I would wake up and find myself sleeping on my belly. and I was HUGE! I dont know how it happened, but I would be full on belly sleeping.

Katie Leigh was born on 5/14 at 1:23 pm. She weighed exactly 7 lbs, and was exactly 19 inches long! I'll tryto post some pics tomorrow, but here are the details!

I arrived at the hospital at 5:30 am on Thursday. It was almost 6 by the time we filled out the paperwork and got to the Labor/Delivery room. I fell in love with my nurse right away-her name was Tina, and you could tell she was a pro. The worst problems of the day came early. First, when they drew blood, my vein rolled, and the lady had to dig around. Then, when they tried to put the drip in, the 1st vein in my left hand blew. Then the lady stuck me in the vein right next to it, but the veins were too close, and blood started running out of my hand. Finally she stuck me in the right hand and it took!

They started the drip around 8, and before 9 my dr. came and broke my water. I immediately started to feel a dull cramping, and my nurse lined up my epidural. The dr. doing them was in another room, and I was supposed to be next. An hour later, the contractions were 2 min. apart and getting really strong, and my nurse was obviously pissed! She called several times, and finally went and found the dr to come and do my epi. It was wonderful! With dd9, my epi hurt, and I had seizures a few days later. But with this one, after the initial stick and pressure of the meds, I felt immediate relief. I continued to feel the tightening of the contractions, but felt no more pain!

I continued to progress pretty consistently for the next few hours. Around noon, I started to feel some pressure. At 1:10, my nurse looked at the monitor, and said I think you are ready. I don't know how she knew, but she checked me and I was at 10 cm and 100% effaced. She called my doctor, I pushed through 3 contractions, and at 1:23 (how easy to remember!) Katie was here!

I didn't get to hold her, but I saw her up close, then dh took her to the nursery while I was being prepped for my tubal. Unfortunately, every baby in the state decided to be born that day, and there were so many C/S that they couldn't get me to an operating room. Over 2 hours after delivery, they finally brought her to me to nurse, but just as they were walking into the room, a room came ready! So I held her for about a min, then they had to take her back to the nursery again! They added more meds to my epi, and I dozed in and out during the tubal. I could hear the dr talking when I was awake, but never felt anything. It took about half an hour, then I went to a recovery room.

They brought the baby to me in recovery, a full 3 hours after delivery, to nurse for the 1st time. She was throwing a fit! She latched on easily and nursed great, and has ever since. She has only lost 5 oz since delivery, and the pediatrician at the hospital said they don't have to see her next week. I just have to take her for her 2 wk check up with our pedatrician.

Because the hospital was so full of women having babies, housecleaning couldn't keep up with the rooms. I got put back in my L/D room until 11:30 that night. The rooms have changed alot since my other kids were born! Before, they were just regular hospital looking rooms. Now, the rooms are suites, with a sleeper sofa for dh and a huge whirlpool tub! That thing was heavenly! I could have stayed another day just to use that tub again.

We were released this morning, and we've been home for about 4 hours. Ds11 and dd9 are at my mil's, so we have another day of bonding before the excitement really starts! She doesn't like her bed very much, but is happy when she is skin to skin with me. We both just took a nap after nursing. She is napping in the bed right beside me now. She is beautiful! I'm so glad dh talked me into having one more! Now I can't imagine my family without her!

Congatulations! Its so weird.. its as though i know everyone will be having babies, but then again, when i hear about it im like "Wow... she had her baby already"... seems like we are planning for something a million lightyears away! Congrats again!
