Moms to Be Part 3

Ohh, okay. I've got Desitin, so phew. I'm covered. lol.
Never thought to put it in the diaper bags. I'm such a newbie. It's in the changing table drawer, though! :) I'll make sure I get some in the bags.

Wow, that'll be a super exciting week for your family!
Kids here don't get out til June 10th or so... so I was curious. :)

Before anyone gets jealous-I started in July last year! This year at least I don't have to start until Aug. 4.

CUTE KIDDISM

My DH asked my 5 year old "Do you know what Daddy does at work?" & got The Answer.... "make money to go to DisneyWorld!" :rotfl::rotfl: That's my boy!

That is PRICELESS! We're hoping to buy into DVC eventually too, but with 5 kids and me wanting to quit my job for at least the first year with the new baby, it's WAY back there on the back burner now. (But dreams are good to have anyway.)

Since all of my pregnancies have been routine and all my babies have had to be induced, I've devoted most of my breath-holding and finger-crossing to you and your little ones that they might stay put until they're fully ready to be born.

My fingers are crossed on my other hand that baby Caleb will be back at the hospital with his mom soon!

I'm so glad he is making progress-I can't even imagine what this is like for you!

I'm going to share a tip from the May ivillage board, that our father on here may not want to hear about!

Take some large feminine pads and saturate with witch hazel, then freeze in ziploc bags. Some of the mothers swore by this, and since it is so cheap I thought why not! I just did 12 pads, and put the ziplocs inside a grocery bag so no one will open my freezer and see a bunch of pads!!!:scared1: I'd hate to think about some of dh's coaching buddies coming by to help with the kids and finding that little surprise!:rotfl:

Ooh! I wish I had known about these after DD#1 (she got stuck during delivery and was pulled out with forcepts. OW!) Those would have helped. I think I'll try it this time even though I'm thinking baby #5 should come pretty quickly and easily. (Of course, saying that out loud is just asking for trouble. ;))

I started spotting last night and have been cramping and bleeding off and on all day. I'm only 6 weeks, 7 weeks Tuesday, if I make it til then. :sad2:I'll call my doctor's in the morning. The only thing I can do now is go to the ER and they can't do anything but tell me if I'm miscarrying or not.

I'll be thinking of you!

I was able to go to the hospital and see him for about 1.5 hours last night. I got a 4 hour pass and I was feeling up to going to see him. The day before there was no way> I didn't want to interfere w/my healing and not be able to take care of him when he needed me.

So, I got a 4 hour pass and it's about 45 minutes each way door to door form here, thanks to Boston traffic.

I got to hold him, cuddle with him, feed him a little bit. It was wonderful!!!

I got to meet both nurses who have been caring for him, the do 12 hour shifts 3 days on 4 days off than 4 days on 3 days off. so there will be new nurses starting at 7am today (monday).

But...he'll be coming over to me today. There were twins born at 35 weeks so they are on a mandatory 48 hour special care observation. They will be off first thin in the am and CJ can come here!!

He is back on nasal cannula, but when I spoke to nurse at 11pm, she had weaned it way down to next to nothing and he was fine. He needs to learn to eat now, but it is hard w/him still having feeding tube in. It makes him gag when he has to burp (it's kinda scary).

So morale of the story....I know we are all miserable and wish we could be done w/pregnancy early, but you just never know. He was so close to being full term and a big baby....but he's now spent 72+ hours in NICU and will be in special care nursery when he gets back here.l..he was already in there for 12 hours while they were getting ready to transfer him.

Babies...just need to cook. I had no choice as I became at risk and had to deliver him, but I don't want anyone to have to deal with this. Mommies go thru enough (and daddy's too)

OK..public service announcement done :)

Shouldn't have checked in this morning-smearing my makeup now. I'm so glad you got to hold him. You are right-you never know. I was born at 35 wks, and had no problems at all (weighed 5lbs 10oz). My 1st two came right on schedule, and this one probably will, too. As miserable as I am, I don't want her here until she is ready. You are in my thoughts today.

Stacy, I am so glad you got to hold him. What a special moment. Thats great that the hospital let you leave to go see him. I hope that marathon traffic isnt too horendous. Thoughts still headed your way! Please keep us posted-- you have a lot of girls thinking about you right now!

About the diaper rash cream-- even with the best of my coupons I still find that EVERYTHING is cheaper than Desitin. So im going to register for it and then probably do Target brand after.:thumbsup2

Okay here is my first baby bump photo

-- if you even want to call it that. The girls on my pregnancy board (twoweekwait.com) look HUGE... I look... bloated and not pregnant at all. LOL

Asside from that, this weekend DH and I were very productive. We got the nursery cleaned out and im ready to vaccum in there really well, clean the baseboards and wipe down the walls. Tomorrow we are probably going to pick up our furniture. We have had the hardest time finding anything.

Today I went to the dr for my gallbladder issues. She said if im not in pain then thats not considered an emergency- therefore they wont take it out-- but if pain persists or comes at all again, then to just come on in and we will look at it. I did do a urine and clean catch to check on my kidneys. That is what she is mainly worried about.

On a HAPPY NOTE:oD- DH felt our baby boy kick last night for the first time. He's a real mover and last night we were in bed watching Apprentice and I said "do you want to feel him kick"... and he put his hand there. I said "Tell me when he kicks" and he did-- and everytime i could feel him kick when DH said that (insuring that was what he felt and not his own pulse through his fingertips- lol). I looked over and DH was wiping a tear, nonchalantly, from his eye. It was sweet-- again, i pretended not to notice. Dh is such a non-cryer-- ive never seen him cry with much-- mainly his dad (family whoas), and the baby. It was so sweet!:flower3:

Maggie, you do look great. I have lurked on twoweekwait.com board since you mentioned it...you are right. I keep looking at most of the pictures and saying how big most look to how I feel.

Nice story about your DH. Having a child turns men to mush balls.:goodvibes and I love it.

I just printed my Clorox coupons and am hoping to get there today. Thank you for the tip.

As far as diaper oinment, I love A&D oinment for DS.

ZachnElli- you are in my thoughts!

Tiggerstac- you and your little one are in my prayers.

Talk to everyone tonight, I am going out shopping with my DM.

Maggie, you look adorable! And, so precious about your hubby. My DBF was terrified to feel my stomach, saying it freaked him out...lol. He did better with baby 2... but I have to admit it's so awesome to see them get teary about their kids :cloud9:

I like A&D best too....

And...Tiggerstac, I'm soo happy you got to hold him...got me all teary too, but happy tears

Thanks girls. I feel so self concious about my body. Im sure thats common of all pregnant women. Last night DH and I were watching The Mrs USA pagent and ofcourse thats a real "pick me up" thing to watch:rolleyes:

The Drs office just called and is calling me in an antibiotic-- apparently i have something in my urine (im having the nurse call me back- the phone nurse called- she doesnt know anything except shes calling me in something per my drs nurse-lol)-- so im glad to know that all my pain and thoughts werent crazy- and that i dont appear like a loony one for nothing- lol.

Well, that is some good news. I hope it gives you the needed relief. Good to know that it wasn't it your head (like we all worry about). I feel much better that you got yourself to the Doctor.

TY! GL at Target!:thumbsup2 I have to keep myself out of that place or ill be there everyday-haha!

On Saturday, Cathy and I went around and hit some garage sales. She found and bought a really nice Peg Perego infant car seat for $25. It's a couple years old, but in very good condition.

We had our big U/S today, babies are measuring perfectly....... AND it looks like I got my wish, one of each!!! Estimated weights of 12 & 13 oz. Baby A is/was blatantly a boy, is slightly larger at 13 oz. Baby B, both tech & doc were about 99% sure it was a girl, they gave me a pic where they say they see 3 lines, but it's all inkblots to me. :) I'll just take the professionals' word for it.

Alrighty, I gotta go get ready for my son's IEP meeting. Back later.

Sarah! You're in double digits!:banana:

OMG!!!!!!!!! Thanks for pointing that out, I totally didn't notice!

I'm excited you got me into it. I found a CVS store coupon (on their webpage) for $1.50/Huggies diapers. So that would be $3 off. But Rite Aid and KMart are still better, if those deals are as simple as they seem. Will report back what I find out at Rite Aid tomorrow (unless other moms would prefer us to talk couponing/budget/deals on another thread? We can make a "Moms To Be Budget" Thread as I hate to litter all over this one for those that don't wanna see it... :confused3)

I think it's fine to do this here...I'm an on again/off again couponer and you inspire me!

You're in my thoughts! :grouphug: All my books said this can be normal, so I hope that is the case for you!!

And I'm really debating on an Ergo carrier. I don't know anyone who has used a carrier-just not common around here I guess. But they look so convenient, especially for WDW next year! They just cost so much that I hate to buy one and not use it! Anyone have recommendations?

Go to www.thebabywearer.com I read about it on a "taking a baby to WDW" thread. Its a bit overwhelming and the women there seem to be a bit over the top, but after doing lots of research, I would buy an Ergo if I were going to WDW...

Thanks for the update and for reminding us that we normally go around 40 weeks for a reason!!

DH is home sick from school today so we watched the first part of the birthing class DVD I got. Now I have to say that I'm really glad I got these and didn't skip the classes all together. I thought after reading so many books that I would know everything, but I actually learned a bunch in the hour and a half we watched and DH definitely did. The Dvds are an awesome alternative to spending $$ on a class...
