Mom's At It Again! ***Updated 4/30/2009~Trip Report Link**

Just a note about Steve's site and entertainment listing...

I checked it on Thursday (we left the next day), but it only went until Friday or Saturday I believe. I printed out the times anyway because he said it didn't really change much. Unfortunately, the times were quite different and we ended up not being able to work in Off Kilter (we just didn't have the energy to walk back around in the humidity). :sad1:

Thanks for posting that picture! It gave me warm fuzzies. :goodvibes I really loved those postcards! I should have bought one for myself. :rotfl:

Good to know. We didn't use his list on our last trip and we were fine...plus they have an entertainment schedule at the parks, right? I guess I'll do what you did...I'll print it out and use it for what it's worth!

Have you done online check in before?? I should have that part of my TR up in a few days.

Nope...gonna try though. Can you get that part up before Thursday?? :rotfl:

I keep re-reading your list and noticing more things. :rolleyes1

We bought THREE cases of water and took them with us (I guess they were cases - how many in a case??) and went through all of it! AND we usually got a couple of water bottles with meals throughout the day too. It was quite humid a few of the days we were there and with five of us - we really went through a lot of water. Just to let you know. :thumbsup2

I think a case is 24. We will only ship one and take a bottle with us each AM. Then we will use the free ice water and our refillable mugs (at the resort). I keep trying to see the weather for our week, but I know you can't really trust it this far out. I hope it's not TOO humid...heat is ok, humidity is the killer!

Wait a minute!! You aren't packed yet???????????? :confused3

:rotfl:

STOP!!! :lmao: I'm freaking out enough already! :scared1: I am planning on doing some tonight just so I feel better about the whole thing!

Yes - the times will be listed when you get there. I just wanted to warn you so you didn't do what I do (but I'm sure you're much smarter than me!). I forgot to double check and we had planned to see Off Kilter after our lunch at Le Cellier. But, when we went over to see them, we saw the time listed was much later than Steve's site had said.

The checking in online is easy. It's more about what to do when you get to the resort. :thumbsup2

Our weather was ALL over the place. Most of the evenings were just beautiful! But, a few of the days were very humid. We also had some rain and mainly overcast days.

STOP!!! :lmao: I'm freaking out enough already! :scared1: I am planning on doing some tonight just so I feel better about the whole thing!

I'm just teasing you because you wanted to pack for me! I figured you'd already be done by now! :rotfl:

You're making progress! Doesn't it feel good to check things off your list?

I'll be anxious to hear about Carissa's online check-in experience... I'm questioning whether to do it or not... obviously it's better to wait in a shorter line, but I read somewhere that your room will already be assigned and if it isn't what you requested they can't change it at that point??? Since we are traveling with DBIL we really want to be in Martinique... we paid for preferred and they didn't and that's the only "island" that has both types of rooms. Our ressies are liked as a Grand Gathering so I don't expect a problem but you never know... :confused3

I love your check list! Ooh, I wanted to tell you that I saw the exact mister fan that you posted a picture of a few pages back at Walmart today! I think they were around $3.00? When I saw them I really wanted to buy them in honor of you.:rotfl:Hopefully you can find them now and check them off that list!:thumbsup2

It feels so good to check things off my list! It's real now with only 11 days to go....I need to get moving!!

I am really anxious to hear about Carissa's experience too. I've heard the same thing so it will be interesting to get her take on the whole process. We aren't overly particular about which building we are in, but we did make 2 requests and it would be nice to get one of them!

You saw one!!??? I asked at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago and they told me they would come in a "couple of weeks after Easter." NO GOOD!! I look every time I'm there with no luck! Where exactly did you see them? I may try to call and see if my Wal-Mart has them in before I head over there to search. I told my DH last night that those fans were going to be the death of me because I haven't been able to find them! I'm encouraged by your sighting!! :thumbsup2

Keep checking things off that list, with only 12 days to go, you must be so excited. How about the boys, they must be thrilled!!!

So tomorrow is our official "10 Days to Go" mark! :cool1: I took some inspiration from my DISfriend Julie, aka mousescrapper, and decided to do a "10 Days to Go Celebration" to count down our final 10 days. Each day we will do something Disney related to celebrate our soon-arriving vacation. Here are the 10 things we will be doing....

::MickeyMo DAY 10-- Thursday 4/9: Mickey Head Ice Cream Sundaes (thanks for this one Carissa!:goodvibes )

::MickeyMo Day 9--Friday 4/10: Play Pirates of the Caribbean Scene-It

::MickeyMo Day 8--Saturday 4/11: Mickey Head Pancakes (thanks Amy! :goodvibes)

::MickeyMo Day 7--Sunday 4/12: Easter! There will be lots of Disney goodies in the Easter Baskets!

::MickeyMo Day 6--Monday 4/13: Morocco Day--A tribute to our favorite WS country. We will have Moroccan chicken and baklava for dinner and then read a Moroccan folk tale. We may also try to make a mosaic project like the tile mosaics in the Morocco pavilion.

::MickeyMo Day 5--Tuesday 4/14: Play Disney Scene It or Disney Sorry

::MickeyMo Day 4--Wednesday 4/15: Mickey Mouse pasta with meatballs

::MickeyMo Day 3--Thursday 4/16: Look at scrapbook from 2007 trip and reminisce!

::MickeyMo Day 2--Friday 4/17: Watch Bolt and have popcorn (we haven't seen this one yet!)

::MickeyMo Day 1--Saturday 4/18: Play Disney Scene It and order Pizza for dinner (this is what we did on Disney-eve in 2007 and my kids are big into tradition!)

::MickeyMo Sunday 4/19: Leave @ 4 am for airport!!!! :cool1:

I plan to put a white board up on the refrigerator to "announce" the activity for each day so the boys will be surprised each morning.

I am SO EXCITED about this, I can't even tell you! :woohoo:

so I had a bit to catch up on.....

haircut: LOVE the hair! My hair is about that short, and looks almost the same when I blow-dry it straight. Good for you :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

unruly FL hair: try some anti Humidity spray, I've used Aussie 12 hr

it says right on the bottle "even in Florida"

Epcot touring plan: I make my own plans too using UG or TGM as guides. I find it works better to fit your personal needs. I like doing 1-day East side FW & WS and then another day West side FW & WS not to give to much away for my TR but it worked nice that way this trip.

Japan miss?: have you seen the tin toy/robot museum there? cool I'm sure your boys would dig it

April Fool's fun: very clever...what a great MOM

ChefMickey123 's story/dream: had to just say I love that:goodvibes

Lost tooth: I have story to share soon...

pre-check in: I'll share my non-pre-check in story very soon I promise

Disney pre-days: they are so great and clever, I like the Moroccan Day the best!

Can't wait for more pre-fun Missy

I am totally going to steal your 10 days til Disney celebration! Very cute. I like the Moroccan day especially, also.

Re: Mister fans--they were in the hardware section. They were displayed along with a small selection of others. They had small keychain fans, two types of large mister fans and the small mister fans which were attached to carabiners, which I thought was way cool. It looked like they had all been newly displayed. If you can't find them your direction, PM me your info and I'll gladly ship them to you ASAP.:thumbsup2

That sounds like so much fun Missy! :goodvibes I can't wait to see all of the pictures. Where did you get Mickey pasta??

Your 10 days look like so much fun! I'm not even going to attempt to go there. I might make up another batch of pancakes and I might try the sundaes but I can't commit to a full 10 days of activities right before we go. But I can't wait to hear all about yours! :thumbsup2

HI Julie! Welcome back! It's nice to hear from you!

Thanks for the hair product suggestion...I'm going to put that on my last minute list of things to buy!

We did go into the robot museum on our last trip. That's where the CM was stamping passports. She drew a cool cartoon in each one so it took forever...we got to browse the museum while we waited. Definitely cool!

Can't wait to hear all your TR stories! I'm on the edge of my seat!

The 10 day countdown is going to be so fun...thanks for the idea! :goodvibes

Thanks...I will call and see if they have them in yet. I'm sure I'll be at Wal-Mart this weekend at some point! Thanks so much for the tip!! :thumbsup2

That sounds like so much fun Missy! :goodvibes I can't wait to see all of the pictures. Where did you get Mickey pasta??

Do you have Aldi grocery stores in Maryland? That's where I got the pasta..it's really cute. It's not just Mickey but several other characters.

10 days till disney sounds amazing!! Enjoy!

Can't wait till tomorrow to start!!

Believe it or not, I think the celebration activities will keep me focused on getting stuff done. Not sure how that works, but in my crazy head it totally makes sense!

What are these Sundaes? they sound great!!

Easy...a scoop of ice cream, 2 round chocolate cookies (oreo type) stuck on top like ears. Add a cherry nose and chocolate chip eyes and you have a Mickey sundae! Maybe Carissa will post the pics of the ones she did for her boys if she sees this. ;)

I've already stolen your countdown chain with Disney trivia. I hope it is OK to steal your 10 day ideas. I won't do all the same activities, but you have given me some great ideas.

Thank you so much!!:hippie:
