Just back from a 7 night Caribbean cruise. My symptoms started Thursday night. Fever, sore throat for 2 days and I still feel crappy. I tested positive around 5:00 pm today. I do not have a count but informally from what I am seeing in our chat group there are dozens of cases. Please be careful and mindful.

It’s definitely annual Back to School COVID again this year where we are, so expected on the cruise ships and in the parks, too.

Just had it recently so I actually enjoy these next few months where I feel invincible with antibodies. 😂 Definitely got it at at work from the parents who all got sick one after another when school started up again.

r.e. bold -- Saddened to read about your misfortune/get well asap and wondering -- DCL or another line? :duck: DW and I are only doing a 4 night'r so maybe we have 3 nights less of a chance of getting it :confused3:scratchin:hyper:

I tested positive for it the day after the 10-nt on the Magic that ended in early August. Is what it is. Can't let it stop you from living.

We did a 4 night last month and got it. However, my husband got sick mid cruise, so he was likely exposed before we boarded since it takes a few days to kick in. I do recommend masking up for the indoor stuff, not only for covid, but for colds and flu. It was surprising how many people cough without covering their mouths.

A bunch of people caught Covid on my June sailing on the Treasure. I think what saved me was the fact that I had Covid in late May so still had antibodies.

Covid is endemic now, so expect it just like every other virus and flu out there.

It’s been running through my daughter’s college campus the last couple weeks. It happened last fall too. Welcome week = parties and germs!

We have a family cruise booked in December over break and I sort of feel like I’m playing with fire!

We head out for our Alaska cruise in a few days. Last week I got my flu and COVID vaccine for the year. I just thought between the airports, flights and ships best to be safe. Well, safe for at least those 2 things. :joker:

Cruise ships have always been petri dishes for all types of viruses. Doesn't matter if its the flu, or covid, or norovirus or whatever its just a risk you take by cruising. And really a part of life in general unless you want to go back to being on lock down in your house.
I always seem to get sick after a lot of traveling anyway.....I like to assume that I am generally "used to" the germs around me/my jobs/my city and then when I go around new people/places/germs, I'm not "used to" them and I succumb......

My first Alaskan cruise on RCL (the week before they dropped the covid test requirement to fly into the US), we ended up in Vancouver and my friend tested positive and had to do the "bus to Seattle workaround" (like EVERYONE on that bus was doing that haha) and I flew home fine, and got SO SICK afterwards (but not covid). Second, we were in and out of 30* weather to rain/snow/fog and crazy weather and I got sick halfway through the cruise (took antibiotics and was generally better) but still not covid and was out of work half of the next week, still not covid. Last summer I was at the Olympics, etc for 2 weeks and apparently I was "used to" French area germs, but a girl on the flight home 2 seats over from me was connecting from India and told her dad that she wasn't feeling well and coughed, and since I wasn't in India for 2 weeks, I wasn't used to those germs and was out of work for a week after.....

I'm a germ magnet! haha

My wife picked it up from who-knows-where recently and it knocked her out for a good 2 weeks; she still has issues with fatigue, and this is after the vaccine and boosters. It's no joke.

Oddly, nobody else un the family had anything more than sniffles.

Yea, this was a recent Treasure Cruise. I did not take as many precautions on the ship as I could have since I did not think much about it myself. Just thought I would remind those that care to take the precautions. Yea, I wont die from this but it still sucks. My respiratory symptoms are not good and not fun.
