Mom & Son-One More Time w/Dad! 11 days of DxDDP-10/21, Grand Finale, FF Chef's Table!

For today ... 'Ohana's divine dessert!

I am soooo looking forward to this but it will be the last meal of our trip so I am already sad thinking about it!

This looks amazing! We're making our first visit to Ohana on our trip. Hoping we all like it!

What a burger!!! Those fries look perfect... hmmm I want a burger and fries RIGHT NOW! You are evil! :lmao:

That 'Ohana bread pudding is just not playing fair! I am proud to say that I will be visiting 'Ohana for dinner for the first time this trip! :cool1:

Horray for 16 days - actually 15 now!

15 more days! :cool1:

DS's favorite steak ever -- Porterhouse at the Yachtsman! The fries with the paprika butter were amazing!

Another late update, the appetizer sampler platter at R&C from last trip! Potato Leek soup, scotch eggs and pastys!

And another change - this one requested by DS. I read last night that Coronado has tubing and stand up paddle boarding. He asked to do that instead of the archery experience on our no Parks day. So no lunch at Trails End. We will eat CS at Coronado, maybe the Pepper Market, maybe something else.

Mmmm!! I might have to stop in to R&C for this platter! My DH & I have wanted to try that scotch egg for a while.

From one chronic ADR changer to another. I'm sorry but I'm so lost. May I request a list of what you guys picked. LOL!!!:lmao: Do you have the final changes made yet? And YES. I am a bad, b/c the choices are endless!!!

Post #8 on page 1 is all up to date! I think I am done now. I would like to get a bit earlier time for 'Ohana on our last night so I check multiple times a day but if I can't, so be it. And that isn't a change that effects you all!

Love those fries they have at Les Chefs!:lovestruc

Agreed, they were very hot, crispy and delicious!

Ok, so I cancelled the Wanyama Safari when I was laid off at work. Truth be told, I was second guessing the dining experience at Jiko. I am really not sure why but I was. And I have been going back & forth over Flying Fish. So today I booked (and prepaid for!) the Flying Fish Chef's Table for DS and I. :cool1:

Now I admit that we are not the most adventurous eaters out there but we have come a loooooonnnnngggg way over the past few years and are willing to take the risk. Yes, it will be an expensive one if we don't like all of the courses but hey, you only live once, right?

So even though we are staying at the AKL, no Jiko this trip. And I also cancelled our 'Ohana breakfast on Friday. Figured we will have a more laid back & relaxed morning after a later evening than we originally had planned. Plus we can now pick up some Boardwalk Bakery treats for breakfast! ;)

Wow! Very brave choice. I think the menu for Flying Fish's chef's tasting wine dinner looks great. However, since I'm not old enough to drink (and my mom doesn't like to drink), I think it would be a wasted experience on us right now.

Looking at the online sample menu makes my mouth water - the "salmon three ways" amuse bouche looks fantastic! I can't wait to see pictures of the food. :goodvibes

That is a bit of a problem for me as well since DS is only 16. When they first started the dinner there was a reduced price with no wine pairings but that isn't offered anymore. But I really want DS to have the experience so I booked it anyway. Hey, what's money in Disney, right?

Wow! That is a big change! But it sounds like an amazing opportunity for some very refined dining. [said with pinkie finger lifted.] :lmao:

I am definitely looking forward to reading this review!

Sweet! Now, I'm back on track. :thumbsup2
Have fun!! I'll be checking back & looking forward to the review. :)

I'm sure the food alone will be worth it. :goodvibes But since I'm now 9 months away from the milestone, I might as well wait.

I am really excited about it. I know there is a chance that one or both of us won't like at least one of the courses but we are both up for at least trying something new.

Two weeks from today! :cool1:

Yeah, I am looking forward to the wine pairings. We live near the Culinary Institute of America and had a wonderful anniversary lunch. The chefs prepared a surprise tasting menu for us with wine pairings. We had no idea what we would be eating and the surprise of each course was wonderful! And the wine pairings were just perfect. I want this to be a similar experience.

Your plans really do sound great.
Can't wait to hear all about it :)

Thank you! And please add my vote to read a Route 66 report from you! :duck:

Two weeks from today!!!  And that also means only two and a half weeks for me!!  I get so excited seeing your countdown in your title because I know I'm not far behind.

Your pictures are killing me, especially that bread pudding. I feel terrible because I'd been telling a friend of mine what a great dinner I had at 'Ohana so she made an ADR for her family and ended up hating it. I feel so guilty but I sure did like it!

Your dining plans look fantastic and I can't wait to read your reviews!!

Woah, that's so cool! I have a friend who just started her freshman year at the Culinary Institute of America. Since it's only a 1.5 hour drive away, it would be cool to visit her and try something like that. The chef's counter at Flying Fish sounds like a similarly neat experience. :thumbsup2

Yay for trips getting closer!

Ugh, that is why I hate recommending Disney restaurants to anyone! We, too, love 'Ohana but everyone is so different!

My DD just saw the pic of the dessert at LTT and said "Are we going there?" Yes, we are. "I am SO getting that when we go there!!!" :rotfl:
