Chapter 4 – Off to DHS we go??

So are some relaxation time we decide we should get going as it looked like we were in for some rain. Declan had downloaded the Wait Times App on his IPod so he was checking out the times at DHS. Since it was going to be an evening visit we knew most shows would be done for the day so it would be the big rides only. The App told us that wait times were way to long.....what would be do? Well let’s go where there are lots of things to do.......off to MK we go!

According to this picture, we arrived about 5:25 pm.

We were at our first stop at 5:40

The wait time was posted at 25 minutes and it probably took about that. They had everyone moving to the left and the line split closer to the loading area instead of at the beginning. It was changed to get ready for the new FP system I’m guessing.

We then grabbed some FPs for BTMRR and headed towards Tomorrowland with a stop at....

Checked out Buzz next but the wait time was too long and the rain was starting. Didn’t really want to stand out in the rain waiting so we decided to eat. We had never been to Cosmic Ray’s so we went there. I think each of us went to a different station but I have no idea what we got. It was pretty packed in there, most likely because it started to pour and I mean pour but we did find a table down near....

I have to say that the number of pigs that were eating there was incredible. People would leave tables covered in garbage, dump stuff on the floor and then just walk away. It was incredible!

We took our time eating waiting for the rain to stop but it wasn’t stopping so we puton our trusty Dollar Store ponchos and made our way to Buzz Lightyear. The line had pretty much disappeared and we only had to wait about 20 minutes. The rain let up while in line so that was a good sign.

You’ll notice in this picture, Declan didn’t score that well.

According to pooksma, he decided he would rather shoot the people in the car in front of them rather than the targets. He’s such a goof!

It was FP time so we made our way back to BTMRR only to find out it was down so Declan I headed for Splash while pooksma waited. No pictures on this trip as we left everything with her for safekeeping.

BTMRR was working when we got off of Splash so we headed for the wildest ride in the wilderness. After that it was one more time in Tortuga and back to the resort y 10:30.

Other than getting a little wet it was a nice night in a park that wasn’t too crowded. We didn’t stay to see Wishes and I’m not sure if the parade happened or not.

The next chapter will bring us a Dads meet.

I really worked with that Zebra to get that shot. He had such a primadona attitude I almost fired him.

The fact that zebras have attitudes is what got them thrown off the safari. They really need to get their 'tudes in check!

I kidded him about the girls checking him out but he didn't seem to in to it. I guess he prefers quiet girls.

I hope he does.

Great pictures! I have to confess...I'm in the minority that doesn't "get" Devine.

I 'get' her, but she creeps me out a bit. I usually take a picture or two when I run into her and then move on. I'm not one to stand and stare for any length of time.

Have you seen Bamboo, or has that started yet? I have just heard about it, but don't know the start date.

While on the ride I tried to get a few more, flashless of course.

I kind of like it when we get stopped along the journey and I can try to get a decent shot. I still don't get good ones, but they are at least better than they might have been,

How did you like it? I think the BBQ sandwiches are pretty good. They have quite a bit of sloppy sauce, and I like them that way.

I was thinking the people reading along were all true Disney aficionados and would get it no problem, maybe I was wrong. You are in the right track though, keep thinking.

I thought it was a good place for counter service. There was some variety so we all could find something we liked. Still like Pecos Bills as the best counter service at MK.

I don't get the cleaning up thing either. How hard is it to use the garbage can!

Yes. I can't wait. DH and DS puts it in high spin cycle. The last time I went on it with them, I was so dizzy I had to sit still for 2 minutes. I think I might go in a separate machine to them this trip.

Chapter 5 – A morning at MK and my first at the World DisDad meet.


Today was the day I knew that at least one other DisDad was going to be at MK so it was my choice to head back to MK. I mean you can never get enough of MK, right? Adam Dale (AKA Southern Taz) was with his DD celebrating her birthday and we had tried to find a time to meet up and today seemed to be the easiest day. So we headed to MK and arrived around 9 am.

When we got there I texted Adam to let him know that we were there and he said they were trying to do the Mountains and would get in touch shortly. We sent DS on his first ever FP run – Space Mountain. We told him we would meet him at the Hub. Pooksma had her own idea as to what came first, something new to MK.....

We visited the renovated Main Street Bakery for some Starbucks coffee. Not my favourite coffee but it is better than what was served before. Pooksma likes it and that was all that mattered. The place looked good and the Starbucks part was pretty unobtrusive. I think the Bakery looked good.

We found Declan at the Hub and made our way to Tomorrowland. We still had our coffees so there were no rides to get on. DS wasn’t too happy about that so he and Pooksma decided to ride Astro Orbitor while I kept an eye on the coffee.

It is always a nice relaxing ride and you can get some great pictures from up there.

After our relaxing tour, we jumped on Buzz (scored just under 600,000 not sure what Declan did this time) and then rode Space Mountain. The posted wait time was 60 minutes but our FPs got us on in 5. WOOHOO!!

After the ride we started to walk towards Frontierland and as we were passing through Fantasyland I received a text from Adam that they were at Gaston’s Tavern so we headed back there. We chatted for a few minutes, took the obligatory DisDad meet picture and then we continued our journeys through the Park. As to that picture, Declan had my camera as he was taking pictures inside Gaston’s Tavern. Unfortunately he seemed to have a problem with the lens. For some reason he keeps hitting the button to switch from auto-focus to manual and the pictures he took didn’t turn out so well. That means that I don’t have the picture. I know Adam has one so that will have to be the proof for the DisDads. It was great meeting you and your DD Adam, hopefully we can do it again sometime. Maybe we’ll both make it to a future DDC.

The rest of the morning/early afternoon went pretty well. We grabbed FPs for Splash and then had a 5 minute wait for Haunted Mansion. Had Declan’s favourite treat, churros and then rode POTC. Back to ride Splash and then it was time for Declan to try a LeFou’s Brew. Brew in hand we made our way back to the bus stop and jumped on the AoA bus as we decided to have lunch there.

We didn't spend much time there. We had a look through Storybook Circus in March and the meet with Adam was really the only time we went to that part of the park in this trip. I guess the construction kept us away.
