Mom and Dad's Dream Trip-34 Yrs in Making-Jun08 SOUVIE PICS PG 51 NEXT TRIP!!???!!!!?

just got caught up again! :) score on the FP's from Matthew!!! so kind..

LOVE the BBB story and Pictures of the girls, so cute! You could tell how much she loved it!! I am sure all the pep talk about it , helped alot too!!
Glad it all worked out!

Jen I have just read your last two posts and I have sat here in the UK trying to hold back the tears, the girls looked lovely my dd who will be 8 when we go to Disney next may can't wait to have the BBB done and after seeing Megan I can't wait to see my own daughter having the make over, we were thinking of having the whole package with the outfit and the photo package as well, can't decide on whether to have it done in DTD or the castle but Rebecca has informed me after seeing other photos on here that she wants the Castle.

I share your pain with regard to SID because my oldest dd who is now 7 suffers from a mild form of it. We had to do occupational therapy 2 years ago because we literally couldn't get her dressed to get out of the house her clothes "hurt" her so much. I know what you mean about the hair being brushed, things in their face, etc. I had many of the same fears as you when we did BBB a year ago, and like you, our daughter just LOVED every minute of it. Hopefully your dd will outgrow or at least be able to cope with her SID, as our daughter has. Your daughter looked absolutely beautiful in her Tinkerbell dress.

Love Megan's BBB Makeover. She looks beautiful! My DD did the same look in October with the fairytale princess and the Tink costume. SO happy Megan had fun and there were no tears.

Wow, Jen, what an awesome trippie so far! I've been reading faithfully, but haven't had the time to post as much. With the boys home from school, we have been out by the pool every day, or at the beach. But, I've been checking for updates everyday.

I loved your BBB story! We are doing it for the first time in August with dd4, and I can't wait! You inspire me to enjoy every moment with each of my children and appreciate all our blessings. It might just seem like a disney trip report to others, but it is really a life lesson you are giving us all!

Can't wait to read more!

You won't regret doing the BBB--definitely money well spent! I know what you mean about being busy--we have had so much going on over here, that it has really kept me from DISING!!! Hopefully things will settle down soon! You made me cry with what you said about my TR--you are too sweet!!! Trust me, there have been many roadblocks and hard "lessons" that I have had to struggle through to gain this perspective--and there are still times I am sure that I am not as "perceptive!!!" ;) BUT Tom and I do both feel that what we have endured has given us a very unique perspective on what is truly important--and it is through this that we try to be ever grateful for all our many blessings--both big and small!

just got caught up again! :) score on the FP's from Matthew!!! so kind..

It was a great day!! I wish we could have seen you after the BBB so you could have seen the complete look!!

You are too sweet!! I am so sorry to bring you to tears, but I am glad you have enjoyed the updates! I know the BBB facility is bigger at DTD, but there is definitely something special about doing it at the castle!

It is so nice to find others who truly understand what it is like to have to deal with SID!! I can truly understand your pain as well--the clothing issue is all too familiar!!! Megan has been in therapy for the past 4 years almost--it is so trying to be constantly vigilant in trying to prevent issues, and ready to deal with everything when the issues come! Connie was so wonderful in dealing with her, and it was truly a wonderful experience. Thank you for the compliments--Megan was BEAUTIFUL!!! ;)

Love it! Great family you have!!

Thank you so much for your kind compliments!! The next update will be here by tomorrow morning! Stay tuned!!!

Good morning! Just checking in...:wave2:

Hey sweet pea!! Thanks for checking in--sorry there isn't more to see---the next update is in the works--getting all the video uploaded and will be posted by tomorrow morning! Stay tuned!

Love Megan's BBB Makeover. She looks beautiful! My DD did the same look in October with the fairytale princess and the Tink costume. SO happy Megan had fun and there were no tears.

Thanks so much for the kind compliments!! We had a great time--I thought she was too cute!

I just started reading your TR today. I just wanted to tell you that the picture of your DD princess: in front of the castle on page 2, post 24, has got to be one of the cutest, if not THE cutest, picture of a child at Disney that I have EVER seen! You should send that in to Disney to see if they want to use it for an ad!

Now, I'm going back to reading the rest of your TR. :goodvibes

BBB-what a victory for Megan! I bet you enjoyed the experience more than any other parents because of what you've been through. Congratuations! BTW-do you pronounce her name MEE-gan or MEG-an? I assume the second because you call her Megs, but my daughter's therapist is Megan, pronounced MEE-gan. Interesting.

video!.....:yay:

There is a really cute video from later that afternoon--sorry to say I still haven't figured out how to segment out our video from BBB to be able to upload. IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW, please fill me in!

Thanks so much for the compliment on the pic--that was our Christmas card last year!! WELCOME ABOARD AS WELL!!! I do so hope you enjoy your stay! ;) Enjoy the rest of the TR!

I assume the second because you call her Megs, but my daughter's therapist is Megan, pronounced MEE-gan. Interesting.

It was a great wonderful victory--I wish everyone could understand why it was such a great success for us! Thank you! Her name is pronounced MEG-an. Tom and I had a battle to beat all battles when we were picking out her name--we found out via ultrasound that she was a girl early on during her pregnancy---so glad we did too considering everything we went through. ANYWAY, I had come up with a list of names that I liked, and started going through them with him one night. He said "NO" to every name except Megan--to that he said Maybe. I wasn't about to consider any other name other than the ones on my list, so it quickly became Megan after quite a bit more negotiations. Megan wasn't my first choice, but it totally fits her now---she just looks and acts like a Megan! :goodvibes After battling out for a first name, I thought we might not ever find a middle name, but it just kind of came to Tom one day--Olivia. (One of the names I HAD on my list--he said it started growing on him.) And that is how it stuck---Megan Olivia! We almost spelled it Meghan, but Tom said that he didn't like the idea of putting in a letter that wasn't going to be heard?!!?! The name SO totally fits her! That is probably SO much more info than you ever were looking for, but OH WELL!!

Needless to say, after our filling lunch and wonderful time spent at the BBB, the girls and everyone else was ready to go for more, More, MORE!!! So we decided to head to Tomorrowland since we had Buzz FP from Tom and hadn't done that area yet. On the way there, my dad and nephews told us quite the amusing tale about their adventures while the girls were at the BBB. Apparently, they decided to do some "Guy Stuff," and headed towards the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Factory. They walked right in--no wait, and sat down and got comfy for the show! AND GUESS WHAT, you know how they have that running joke about "That Guy," well "That Guy" just happened to be my DAD for that show!!!!!! He said he had a blast with it, and the boys were laughing so hard they could hardly breathe! He said it was SO much fun!!! As he is telling us this story though, the only ones who could truly appreciate it were Tom and I because we were the only other ones to have seen it!!! We both started laughing so hard realizing the humor of the situation!! Oh, how I wish we could have been there! Anyway, good times and laughter all around! :lmao:

So onward to Buzz Lightyear with our FP--Tom beat all of us that time. I don't think my Mom and Dad got it down, their scores were barely over 4000, but oh how that would change!!! :goodvibes Needless to say, everyone LOVED that ride!!! Megan of course rode with Megs, so Tom and I took each other on in our vehicle! I wanted to beat him SO badly--no luck!

Then we headed over to another family favorite--Carousel of Progress. We walked on of course--which completely astounded my mom. She said she always remembered standing in line for this one--not today! No matter how many times we sit through this, Tom and I always love it each time. Always one of my personal favorites!! What was funny was that Mom kept saying, "What happened to 'Now Is the Time'?" I had to break the news that they had returned to the original song that Walt wrote for it! (Obviously, you can see she hasn't been there in a while!)

Then we decided to head up the ramp to the TTA and take a leisurely ride around Tomorrowland!! Always a good time there too!! Now, who do you think was the fourth person in our car kiddos??????? Did you guess Kristi?????? YOU'RE RIGHT!!! GREAT GUESS!!!!!:lmao:

After the TTA, we noticed the line for Astro Orbiter was quite long so the kids decided to skip it for now. None of them wanted to do Stitch, so we decided to head over to Adventureland---and yes, we did have to wiggle our way around the crowds for the afternoon parade--but we did eventually make it!!! Of course due to the parade beginning soon, Adventureland was empty!!! We walked right on to the Carpets--the kids enjoying this ride as well. While we headed for the carpets, Tom headed for the FP machines at the Jungle Cruise and got us all FP for that ride. Luckily, they were usable within minutes of getting off of the carpets!!! SCORE!!! As we were getting off the carpets, we noticed the sky was beginning to cloud up a little bit----but somehow, as menacing as they looked, they never opened up to pour down on us!! DOUBLE SCORE!!! So as we were waiting for our FP time, we checked out the boats by the JC.

261.jpg

Here's our little Tinkerbell sailing on the "ocean blue!" Hated to tell her as much as she thought she was driving those boats, we never put money in the machine to turn it on!! She is so EASILY entertained!!! :goodvibes

It was then time to hop aboard our Jungle Cruise through the "rain forest!!" We unforunately had a very sweet young man who was originally from somewhere south of the border--don't remember where exactly--so he still had a very strong, thick accent. So not only did we have to listen through the accent to the very familiar script, he also flew through it so fast (like I think most of them do for some reason) that we had to REALLY concentrate to hear. It didn't bother me too much since I think I could deliver the script myself, but I think most of the jokes and humor were lost on Mike's kids--I just don't think they heard most of them! TOO BAD!!! When we got off our cruise, we stopped to collect our thoughts about what we wanted to do next. We could have gone into the Tiki Room, but since they have massacred that lovely show, I didn't think ANYONE would like what they have done to it--Mom, Dad, Kristi, and Mike would be so sad to see the old show go, and the kids would probably be a little overwhelmed by the loud noises. Since POTC was closed for rehab----BOOOOOOOOOOOOO---we decided to save Frontierland for after dinner, and head on out of the park. Mom really wanted to ride the monorail around all the hotels before we went to dinner, so we decided to go hop aboard and ride the monorail for a little bit. We road all the way around the loop one whole time, and then decided to get off at Poly the next time it came around. We had dinner reservations at 5pm at Kona Cafe, but were still a little eary when we got there---the restaurant wasn't even open yet. So, some checked out the lobby, some got "freshened up" in the restroom, and some visited the gift shop. Here are some pics and videos from our time in the lobby!!!

264-1.jpg

Okay, this was before we freshened up, so we look a little "melty" and worn down! But, I love this pic of us--Mom and her girls!!!

Here's a video clip of the kids "entertaining" themselves while we waited!! I need to clarify a little of what is going on in the video though. As the video begins, the dancing girls and the running around boys had just collided sending Tinkerbell to the floor. Of course, both parties were at fault, but they wanted to blame the other party naturally! Then, you will hear me talking to Mike about how my "broken" camera suddenly started to work while indoors--sorry to have had a conversation while taping!!! Then in the middle, Josh starts crawling across the floor and my feet to avoid being in the video--of course I handled that situation too!! Towards the end, you will see Megan in the background not dancing, but leaning over and talking to some "invisible" person. She apparently was pretending to be the real Tinkerbell giving out autographs. It was too cute, because then all the kids started to pretend that they were characters giving out autographs to each other--I tried to video that, but they would stop everytime I turned the camera on---I guess they didn't want me to catch that for all eternity! Again, just click on the box to get the video to play!

It was soon time to sit down to eat!!! YEAH!!! We were all getting VERY hungry!!!

310.jpg

Kristi and I decided to get some special drinks--I opted for alcohol-free though because I just wasn't feeling 100% after being out in the hot sun all day.

Here's my virgin "Sand in your Pants"

314.jpg

Here's her with her regular "Sand in your Pants!"

313.jpg

And she hadn't even had any yet!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

Here is what Tom and I had for dinner--except he had broccoli--doesn't eat asparagus! This is the filet mignon dinner at Kona----MMMMMMMM too good!!!

316-1.jpg

Mike had the Tuna Oscar---looked so good, and he said it was delicious!!!

315.jpg

Everyone's food looked and tasted good--didn't get pics of it all! But NO ONE was complaining!! The food at this restaurant was WONDERFUL!! The bread was to die for! I can't tell you how much of that we ate!!! Then it was on to dessert!!!

Here was Conner's White Chocolate Cheesecake!! Yummy!

317.jpg

Tinkerbell making her own sundae!!!

318.jpg

Mom enjoying her chocolate fondue!

320.jpg

The smell of the freshly baked waffle cones lured me to pick the Kona Cone!!!

321-1.jpg

Tom enjoying his Kona Cone too!!

322.jpg

Needless to say, we all had happy bellies after that meal!! NEVER will we come to WDW without eating at Kona!! TOO GOOD!!!

Then we decided to head back to MK and take in Frontierland!!! We headed directly over to BTMRR to use our FP, but Mike had to sit out with Conner who's stomach was hurting---hmmmm? Could it be all the steak and cheesecake he had for dinner, or just a little nervous belly about riding the rollercoaster??? I wanted to sit out with Conner so Mike could ride, but he wouldn't let me, so on the ride the 8 of us went---Mom with Josh, Dad with Maddie, Kristi with Megan, and Tom with Me. This is Megan's ABSOLUTE FAVORITE RIDE!!! Here she is waiting to board---

266-1.jpg

Can you tell it is her favorite??????

267-2.jpg

Needless to say, Megan, Kristi, Me, Tom, Josh, and my Dad all LOVED THE RIDE!!! WOO HOO!!! Mom and Maddie---not so much, but hey, at least they got to try it! When we went to ride Splash or get FP for it, we found out that there were problems with the ride, and so no one could get FP for it or get in line-----BUMMER!!!!! At that point, Mike thought it would be best if took Conner back to the room--still complaining of a sore stomach. Maddie decided she wanted to go back too, but Josh stayed with us to ride some more!!! YEAH JOSH!!! So we headed out of FL, and on to Haunted Mansion. There was only a 10 minute wait, but we had to do the Parent Swap because Megs said she DID NOT want to ride. So Kristi hung back with me and Megs, and the rest rode together. When they were done, it was now time for me and Kris!! YES!! She obviously had not seen it since the revamp, so I was so excited to take her on it!! We had a blast--I love this ride and LOVE the additions!!! The neatest thing was that they had to temporarily stop the ride at one point--we were in the room with all the eyes on the wall right after the new neverending stairway room---and it was so cool!!! What I have never noticed is the whispered voices that they pump into that room!! VERY SPOOKY and CREEPY when you are stuck in there!! We had a great time and SO loved the ride! Then we all headed to another family favorite---the Hall of Presidents! We walked right in and grabbed great seats in the middle!! I know some people think this is a snoozefest, but we love it! We all love history in our family--Dad should have been a history teacher, but chose to be an architect instead. AND we all love watching the intricate movements of all the Presidents--especially when they are NOT talking. So much to enjoy! Josh and Megan even liked it! As we were leaving the Presidents, Spectromagic was just starting to go past Liberty Square, so we watched for a little bit

268-1.jpg

until I got this face from Megan:

324.jpg

Since we had seen most of the show pass, we all decided it was time to head for the exits----everyone was getting too pooped to party! We had to walk all the way around Fantasyland and out through Tomorrowland though to get around the parade though!! OH WELL, we enjoyed the walk out together--reminiscing about the great day we had!!! We even got to enjoy the fireworks a little while waiting for our bus back to OKW!! When we all got "home," it was not long before everyone was fast asleep---dreaming wonderful dreams about our day!! AND wondering what tomorrow's adventures in Epcot will bring!!!

So stay tuned for next update----EPCOT Day!!! Will we make it to our 7:10am ressie at Chef Mickey's? Will we ALL make it to rope drop??? Will we be able to SOAR??? Will Megan make it through the day??? What does the forecast have in store for us??? What is wrong with that cloud???? Will we ever find Mom and Dad??? Will Mom ever find Dad??? Will Snow White be in Norway???? OOOOHHHHHH!!!! So much good stuff coming up!!! I know I'm leaving you on the edge of your seats----stay tuned for more coming soon!!

Have a great weekend!!!!!!

Holy carp, 7:10 ressies at Chef Mickey's??? Now you really are my hero!!!:worship: :worship:

Honestly I don't know if I've seen a child with better facial expressions than Megan. Too cute!

I thought of you today as my DD was basically screaming about every piece of clothing she tried on this morning, and as she was adjusting her skort/sandals/glasses/underwear through every parking lot we were in today. We hadn't been through that for a while, and I'd forgotten how frustrating it can be. I think she's just over-tired and therefore more sensitive about it, but wow! It pretty much came out of nowhere.

Loved this installment (obviously the pics are my favorite part), but now I'm really torn about Kona. I had talked myself out of it, but now, I just don't know what to do. I only have 7 TS meals and there are just too many places I want to go!

Do you, your mom and your sister have the same "color" of VB stuff? Is it capri melon or raspberry fizz or something different?

Can't wait for more, more, more!

great update! I need to remind myself to come back to watch that video when I'm home! :cool1:

Hero--is a bit much---wait until you see what happens!!! ;) :scared: :rolleyes1

Honestly I don't know if I've seen a child with better facial expressions than Megan. Too cute!

Thank you so much for you sweet compliments!! If you can imagine it possible, as animated as her facial expressions are now, they were 100x more so as a baby--PRICELESS!!!! We were often told, that she should have been the new Gerber baby or that we should have put her into modeling, but we never did that. She is a true character--when she is happy!! :goodvibes

Oh God Bless you!!! It is a difficult situation--one that never seems to get easier no matter how long you have been dealing with them! Summer is our worst season because so much skin is exposed--she is constantly trying to pull down her short-sleeved shirts or her shorts--wants it to cover everything!! Needless to say, we all welcome fall's pants and long-sleeves!! One less headache!!!

Loved this installment (obviously the pics are my favorite part), but now I'm really torn about Kona. I had talked myself out of it, but now, I just don't know what to do. I only have 7 TS meals and there are just too many places I want to go!

I'm glad you enjoyed the update--hope the video worked for you too! I know what you mean about the restaurant dilemma--I now have too many favorites--it is so hard to fit them all in!!! Kona is worth the trip though if you can squeeze it in!

Do you, your mom and your sister have the same "color" of VB stuff? Is it capri melon or raspberry fizz or something different?

Mom has Capri Melon--Kristi and I both had Petal Pink stuff this trip. We all hit the VB outlet sale together in April, and got stocked up for what we needed for the trip!!! I would have loved to pick up something in raspberry fizz--that is a cute pattern!! I just got the fall catalog the other day--Puccini is BEAUTIFUL!!! What a wicked addiction!

Can't wait for more, more, more!

It will be soon, soon, soon!

great update! I need to remind myself to come back to watch that video when I'm home! :cool1:

Okay--don't forget to watch it--too funny and cute!! I will remind you at some point later!! ;) :goodvibes

GReat update Jen! Megan is just too cute for words I swear! My kids LOVED carousal of Progress too.. Kona was one of our favorite meals also! It looks kindof dumpy, nothing special but the food is soo yummy!!

Sounds like a magical day all around! Ohh can't wait to hear how THAT TUESDAY effected you all!! hahah...:)

Fabulous update. I have never been on the Carousel of Progress, so that is a must do on our next trip. I'm in the planning stage of our next trip in June 2009. I still need to decide where to stay. So, I enjoy reading your TR so I can make a list of must do's. Keep up the good work!

Love the update! I love your family's touring style. So go with the flow. That's the best way to tour, because you're just happy to BE THERE! :thumbsup2

Brave you for the 7:10 AM ressies!
