Two weeks ago the Principal received a "call" ( usually considered being from the Lord) to go to another school. FYI, this was a private Lutheran school. She has declined.

Little info for some of you. Our Pastor announced yesterday, the Principal DID NOT take the "call". She is staying

Funny, I didn't realize you could "decline" a true calling from God. It isn't as if it's a collect phone call & you've made prearrangemnets to call right back. Don't you think that might piss him off a bit? I have to say, after having watched all those Charlton Heston style Bible movies or having read about Sodom & Gamorrah, the Ark, etc, I wouldn't want to make God angry. His wrath seems to be quite a site to behond.

Hi sweetie DS#2 & I spent Fri night in the ER. He fell & had to get stiches(only 3) in his forehead. Well, Sat was a waste for me after that. Yesterday was pretty much the same, after the news at church. We did manage to move a load of dirt though . I just can't get the concept of having to buy dirt I am sore today.

Sorry he had to go to the ER, but I'm glad it wasn't worse. I thought Evie broke her arm on Saturday. She was walking the edge of the curb & I'd already told her to get down. She didn't and finally fell, scraping both knees and instantly raising a big bruise on her forearm. She favored it for a bit but by the time we got to the playground it seemed fine.

OH Bonzi glad to hear that ds is doing better and that it was only 3 sticthes not anymore than that.

if you need help I will always be there to move that dirt with you then you can come over and help mulch and pull weeds and stuff

Yep, we're still on for dinner with you at Teppan Edo on Thursday night. I'm so excited! I even finally cancelled my reservations for that evening at Coral Reef over the weekend.

Is anyone interested in doing a breakfast together on Sept. 14th? I know many of us go home that day, do we might all be trying to pack in last minute park stuff. However, I'm up for it if you think we can get a ressie somewhere.

We can't do CM as that is our Narcooses night and I've been promising DS#2 blackened grouper for a year. If we are still welcome, may we join up with you at MK?It is an EMH isn't it? I must not be holy enough. I've never felt a "call" from God.

Sorry to hear about this. I've been through a few issues with Pastors and so called religious people. I swear sometimes they're worse people who have no faith. Especially since you expect better.

Sorry to hear about this. I've been through a few issues with Pastors and so called religious people. I swear sometimes they're worse people who have no faith. Especially since you expect better.

I recently heard someone say, "Don't judge Christ by Christians." I thought it was a humorous way to acknowledge how sometimes people practice one way and judge another. Of course, all too often in my experience, the "religious right" are neither religious nor right.

Bonz, immediately start planning a party for ALL the children in that school. Make sure that ALL the food is heavily sugared and then send the little darlings down the principals office and see if her hearing does not improve enough to hear that 'call'. Ever notice how folks are called toward more money rather than less? Just thinking aloud here. Ouch, I am sorry. The ER is an evil place. You go when you have to and then they make you wait and wait and wait. It drives you mad and then you get the bill for the 'service'. I am surely glad it was not worse though. Been there a time or three myself.

Mom2Evie, I have never heard a 'call' either. Since I am pretty deaf I do occasionally feel a boot in the butt. He puts situations in my path and I feel led to do whatever I can. There ARE angels and they are WE! There are many who have been so to me on this thread too!

Linda, love the sugar party idea We were sent to "fast track" from the ER. This is the emergency room for not such emergencies . the kid had a head wound, they don't bleed much, right? He is 7 and made the comment "they should call this slow track not fast track". The nurses didn't find any humor in this, I thought he was right on target.

Bonz, your boys would be no problem to me. I can talk trucks with the best of them and can listen to most anything and pretend to be interested. My oldest grandson used to call me, when he was small, to listen to TV with him over the phone. Now he calls me while he is 'texting'.

FF, with the huge increases in milk and bread the schools may HAVE to serve sugar. I have heard that if you give them enough sugar the students will be able to RUN to school and save on all those big yellow buses. BTW, my sil drives one.

It drives me mad that the school/food pantry's will not accept home grown produce around here. Such a waste and all on the OFF chance that some nutcase MIGHT do something!!! The world has gone mad!

Now this is one of the better weeks I can guarantee you the cereal is Wheaties/Raisin Bran/Cheerios. Sad thing is, if the school didn't provide it a large % of the students would go without. We have the highest free/reduced lunch ratio for the state. I just keeping, and you need a license to fish but not to have chidren

That is sad. Ours is cereal everyday with either a donut, yogurt, or graham crackers. Whats with the pop tarts, power bar, and only donuts. Now that's brain food to get the kids ready for school. NOT!!!

We have a high hispanic population because of the farms they come up from Mexico to work the fields. We had one kid who brought pop tarts and marshmallows for luch everyday. I asked the school why they didn't just give him a free lunch like a lot of kids get and they said he parents wouldn't fill out the financial forms. A lot are afraid of getting deported. I then mentioned the fact that there is always something left over to feed the poor kid but hey said they wouldn't give it to him without the forms. I finally started packing an extra sandwich and fruit with DS for the kid.

My dog got hit by a truck on Sunday morning, and I saw it happen!

Peanut came home yesterday from the Animal Hospital, she's pretty banged up...but luckily no broken bones or internal injuries! Guess someone was looking over her Sunday morning!
