I'll try to work on another few ideas I have as I get time. This one's not particularly creative.
SlightlyGoofy, you only had one of those shirts made? Iol
Timmy! Nancy! Bonz!!! How dare you guys be in the world without us?!! We need pictures. I wish I was with you all!
Sadly, I will just miss a lot of people. I am just catching Nancy's party, thankfully.
I booked on the bounceback earlier than I was there last year because my son's school just started full force the week we left and I wanted to avoid that next year. Now he will be gone during their getting settled week with no homework going yet. I am going to cry if they do bounceback for next year since he will be a freshman and I can't see how we would be able to pull him out a week then.
Anyway, maybe we can meet another time. If you will be there on the 13th Timmy is planning another Tower or Terror meet and ride. That was a lot of fun last year.

Ha! That is cute Neinor

Good Morning Everyone!
I received a phone call from 2 crazy woman at POP last night!I think they were either REALLY tired, or been sitting at the Petals bar for too many hours! They were hysterical!!!

Yeehaw! I'm going to DisneyWorld!! I hadn't told DH that we'd book a trip to WDW in September. You all know that my husband has been balking about letting Evie miss anymore school. This year (first grade) started off really rough for her and missing 4 days for a trip to the World certainly didn't help. However, with her diagnosis of ADD, her meds & a year of maturity behind her, she's improved by leaps and bounds. Her report card came yesterday. They're graded from O for Outstanding, S for Satisfactory, N for Needs Improvement & finally U for Unsatisfactory. Evie has never, ever gotten an "O" for anything. And her first 9 weeks report card was mostly "N"s
All that has just changed.
Come on ladies, it's a chorus line!!!!

For this grading period she got 15 "O"s out of 40.Everything else was "S" with only three "N". The needs improvements came in reading, which was expected. She's in a remedial reading class and according to her report from that teacher, she's gotten an "S" for everything but short vowel sounds. Okay, that last one made me laugh. It just seems so funny that you can grade based on a vowel sound!!
Anyway, this report card was good enough that I told Kevin about the trip. I told him that we'd booked a trip with free dining, she'd miss only 2 days and flights were ultra-affordable right now. He tried arguing that he never goes off for a weekend with his friend & I'd likely never let him spend money to do it. I pointed out that we put $350 into racing account for him each month and asked was this REALLY the argument he wanted to go with. I then pointed out how I've offered to fly him down to Atlanta so he could visit his brother or go to a concert, but he didn't do it. He tried mentioning her grades, etc. & not wanting her to miss school but I just flat dismissed that. he finally just mumbled, "You're going to do whatever you want, so whatever." He's right, I'm doing what I want....

We're lucky that Evie has only ADD. She's a bit spastic, but not clinically hyper active. She didn't ge tthe oppositional defiance disorder that often accompanies ADD either. She simply has BIG trouble focusing long enough to finish a work sheet. She's living her life as if someone else has the remote control & they're constantly flipping channels. We're incredibly proud of her and how hard she's worked. If we hadn't pushed for assessment or had waited until later in the school year, I'm confident she would have failed the first grade and would never have been able to make up that ground. She's on Ritalin and it's helped just enough to make HER successful.Awsome news Rei.I am even more happy to hear your daughter is doing better in school that has to be a good boost to her confidence and sometimes that is all it takes to get them doing better. Now she knows she can get the good marks
My ds has ADHD too so I know what you are going through only we are now in middle school so BTDT.
Ang
for your daughter! I'm glad she did so well on her report card, you must be so proud!!!!

Girls typically don't get the Hyper part but that is also why they are often not diagnosed till they are older and failing. Glad to hear you were on top of it.
We had ricochet rabbit here. When he was little he would literally run (never walk) and bounce off walls, doors whatever because he could not stop fast enough. You could tell him a million times to slow down and he would for about a second. He spent lots of time in the time out corner to calm down and think. Now that he is in middle school the hyper has gone which is nice for him because people just don't get it but we still have the impulsive (forgets to stop to think before he acts or says things at times) and innattentive. I had it explained to me once that with ADHD they get the info and file it away in their head but when they try to retrieve it they forgot where they put it which explains his unorganization outside his head too. They are usually very intelligent as well, they just don't fit in the typical box some schools want to force them to fit into, they learn differently and that's ok. Meds help tremendously but he motabolizes it so fast we have to change meds about once a every year or two. The only comorbid problem he has is anxiety and a couple learning differences but thankfully nothing like the ODD and all the other things that sometimes go along with the ADHD. DS is happy as can be and almost always has a smile on his face and a great attitude to go with it. He is also painfully shy (anxiety). Thankfully he is doing well and other than his teachers and close family most people don't realize he has ADHD.
