I have been so busy with work and family stuff. I really need this vacation to DL in May I am so excited. I got airfare for Ohare to LAX for 215pp and now I was looking for September to DW and its just as much as I paid to go to LAX. I dont think it will go any cheaper than 215pp. Southwest is out of there mind to think I would pay almost 570 for 2 people. I know gas is going up but......

Crzykid....Good gosh I know what you mean about the airfares. I was looking at September too and for me, the brat, and the SO it would cost $600 just for the flight, that doesnt include the gas for the drive to and from the airport (2 hours--we live in the boonies), the parking fees, car rental (I hate Disney buses-too slow and I drag too much stuff with me). I estimated it would run us close to $1000 to fly with all that. MIght as save ourselves over $500. It was about $350 in gas. Not counting the 100 we had to shell out for a broken wheel cylinder. LOL, at least that happened when we got there instead of some isolated back road.

At least I dont have to worry about what I take with me when we drive, plus it is cool to see who can spot the first palm tree of the trip. LOL

I booked two plane tickets yesterday morning on Southwest. I only booked our flight down and it cosst a paltry $164 for both of us. The Southwest return flights come in too late on Sunday. I'll want to arrive earlier in the day so that Evie can get to bed on time & return to school fresh and ready to behave.


I'll book our return trip on Airtran once the prices drop a bit. They have several return flights that work for us. Of course, we still have a week in Florida at the beach house in July to pay for as well. I might just wait and buy the return ticket in late July or August. I'd hate to feel strapped for cash during the family vacation week because I insisted on paying for my weekend so early. Especially since I won't get paid for that week in July because I'll have no vacation time yet. The trip to WDW is almost completely paid for. I owe another $180 by the end of July but that's no sweat.

Nienor,, I like your shirt ideas as well. I enjoy seeing folks all decked out in similar wear and often take pictures of them to add to my collection.

crzykid, I am figuring that it will be about $300 for gas for out trip plus a motel room down and back and meals. That is almost double the gas costs but still worth it for me to have my own car with me.

angwill, do you think medication would make it possible for me to get it through my husband's head that you put soup in a bowl and not a plate and that you do NOT put the food that you took off the buffet but decided you did not want back onto the serving table or should I just go back to fixing his plate for him? I love your account of your boy. Sounded to me like he just needed to be 'defragged". Success breeds success and it is often just a matter of finding something that a child can succeed at to make the difference. He is one lucky child to have a mom who understands.

Mom2Evie , hooray!! I am betting that your daughter is so proud of herself that she is near to bursting. She has earned a great reward, not only for herself but for her dear mommy as well. Your argument would not work for me as, according to my dh, I have not worked and thus have no money of my own. I am spending some of the little bit that I put away when I ran my 'from home' business. I had been saving it for a dream trip to England one day but have given up all hope.

wic0721, want me to keep your husband and Evie's husband seperated if they should both be at DW at the same time?

Pooh, how is it working with a bride that is not giving you any trouble? Are you going to bring pictures of the details in September?

I am off to take Tom up for his pre op appointment. If it were not for the CT scan for the aneurysm this would not have been caught and that could have been a very, very bad thing. Surgery is next Thursday and will only take 1.5 hours and he will be back at home soon after. I have been told to keep him from working.

Check out http://www.kayak.com it's a great search engine for finding cheap airfare. The best part is that you don't purchase the ticket from them. They provide you a link to the airline website & that fare. If you purchase from expedia or travelocity, your contract is with them, not the airline. You aren't given any protections if you miss your flight. The airline could have you pay walk up prices for a ticket if you missed your flight and I don't know anyone that can afford that!!
Check it out when you get a chance. I use Kayak all the time.

Wouldn't life be so much easier if we all had a defrag program built into our brain I love your take on things. It's like you take things and put them into funny stories that I can actually picture.

My son even with the challenges is the joy of my life and I just figure he keeps my life interesting. I also know that I can be a challenge at times as well. I just wish I could have figured out the challenge of how to bottle the energy he had when he was little and I would be rich now too.

As for your DH sadly the only suggestion I have is a hammer. It could be used to help in many different situations. You could break all the plates so there are only bowls left for his soup. You could use it to break his hands so he couldn't put stuff back on the buffet. Then again you would be back to serving him like you suggested. If all else fails as a last resort maybe a little blow to the head could also knock some sense into him as well.
He should know how lucky he is to have you.

I fly out of Chicago too. I only fly direct and I seem to find the best prices through American Airlines if that helps you any. I just keep an eye on prices and have always run into a sale although this year what was a sale was still about $10 more than their average prices last year.

We went to 50's Prime Time last September. Our server was polite & proficient, but didn't do any of the stuff I 've heard about. I took one bite of my meatloaf and it was awful. He didn't even ask me about it!! However, it looks like naughty Ms Timmy had a great time. Welcome back!

Okay the baby eagle has landed now we got stranded in Chicago for about 2 hours or so last night so I didn't get in to Cleveland until 2 am. YEAH home but sad that Timmy and I's trip is over. We had so much fun.

For everyone on our thread please ignore others who are rude and obnoxious(SP) to OUR FRIENDS and can't respect their decision as to whom they want to hang with and be friends with. I just can't believe people on these boards are so petty!!!!!!!!!! Everyone knows that I get along with everyone. I got a real eye opening this week after talking with a one of my best friends and am so upset at what i was told that I feel the need to make this statement now and I know making it this way I won't get in trouble.
