Did you not tell me that you were going to drive down at one time but yet you are worried about driving on property?

I drove through Atlanta a couple of times in mid-July and I don't remember having any construction issues. You should be fine.... just stay on the I-75/I-85 connector and go through downtown. Depending on the time of day, the traffic might be a little bit heavier but the roads are MUCH better.

It is only 8 days to go for me and I could use a few more. Please forgive me if I do not get everything done that I want to do for you all? If you do not know what I wanted to do you will not miss it, right?

Pooh, I think you are wise in forgoing a rental car. But I still think I remember you, very kindly, offering to drive down this way and pick me up at one time which I took to mean meant you were planning on driving to DW. I could not think why you would be worried about driving around property if you could drive all the way down. I am that way but then I am strange.

Mom2Evie, it is my understanding that the construction is new and several lanes of 75 are closed at given point usually from Friday evening until Monday morning. Naturally I am going through on Friday evening and coming back on Saturday. If I had known ahead of time I would have adjusted. Maybe the speeds will slow enough to compensate for any other problems. I do not mind if it takes me an extra 15-30 minutes to get through. Just have to get through it.

If this is the case, then use the perimeter to get around. Take I-285 around the western side of the city. Also, listen to 850 AM, they have traffic reports every 8 minutes. Man, I really miss living there!!

Pooh, anyone who truly cares for YOU would not want you to do such. I have a nice bil who does so much for everyone in the family but I am very careful in what I ask him to do for me. He drives me to my appointments when they are going to drug me and I am unable to drive but I ask him more so he can take care of dh than for my sake as he lives far from here. Otherwise I would just ask a local friend AND pay for gas etc. You are a special person.

M2E, I cannot even go around the block without getting lost so I am planning on sticking with good ole 75 where at least I know where I am. I was on the bypass once years ago and remember having to go on and off exits and it nearly took what sanity I had with it.

I did not learn how to drive until late in life as my dh did not approve of women knowing how to drive, or earn their own money. It gives them uppity ideas ya know. For me to be able to drive back and forth to DW is an accomplishment, for me.

I would be willing to pay a $50 toll if they had a real bypass to Atlanta. Should be worth more to the folks who live there to keep me away.

YAY I got a terrific rate for Lake Buena Vista Comfort Inn for our first nite. We like to get there ahead of time so we can check in early at Disney the next morning.

The lady was funny. We started talking about small towns and rednecks and she said she was a Puerto Rican redneck.

Well it is now.... Thanks for the tip, just saved 10$ WHOO HOO!
That is a super nice hotel. The only difference between the prices was that the 39$ had a buffet breakfast and the 29$ just had continental. Like I eat breakfast anyway. Hey, now I dont have to get up as early. thank you bonz.

I guess not enough of you all signed up to BE a GG. Last time I spoke to them, there were only two of us (Pooh & me, I think). Today when I called with a ME question, they told me it was no longer part of a GG.

Trust me, Nancy. I was very surprised too. When I called a week ago with questions about ME, I had to get passed through to GG. Today, even though I told him I was GG, he informed me that I wasn't. I got to deal with the CM that answered the phone instead of GG.
