Ok I have picked out the dates. But I have a few more questions. I have a 33 ft class A. Would like full hookup. There is also another family going in a TT. Can we possibly get sites beside each other? We both have children. Suggetions on Loops? Should I become a AAA member before making reservations or doesn't it matter?
Once we are there since I have a class A can I get transportation to other Parks like Sea World?
Love this fourm :thumbsup2

Me and the Dw take our 5er and my parents take there TT. We request to be beside one another when we make the reservation. We have been side by side, across from one another and a few sites apart. You need to request that you want to be next to one another. Along with telling them the size of your rigs, it should not matter that you have a class A and they have a TT. It would be better if you where already a member of triple A. Not sure what loop because we always stay in a prefered site.

If you want the AAA discount, you must be a member before you make your reservation. There are limited sites at the AAA rate and any and all discounts must be arranged before arrival. There is no "applying the discount" once you get there like some other campgrounds.

With a TT or motorhome, you will have to get a full hook-up. In Disney terms that means three point: electric, water, and sewer. If you want cable you have to request a preferred. Only tents and pop-ups are allowed non-sewer sites since there is no dump station at Ft. Wilderness.

I you want to take a pet (even one that will remain in the RV at all times such as a cat or parrot) you have to request either a full hook-up pet loop or a preferred pet loop. Pet loop adds $5 per night and will only apply to the camp site with a pet. I one of you has a pet and the other does not, then only one camp site pays the pet fee even though you will be in the same loop. If both have a pet, then both will have to request a pet loop and pay the pet fee. Disney applies the pet fee at the time of check-in because some guest plan to bring a pet and then decide to board them at the last minute and it is easier for them to add the pet at check-in than to take them off at check-in.

Transportation to other places around Orlando can be arranged on your own.

There is Mears Transportation that will provide pickup from the front parking lot of the Fort to various places such as Sea World, Universal, etc. for about $16 per person RT. You call them the night before and tell them where you are going and how many in your party and they will give you a pickup time. It is a shared service, so you will probably stop at other places on the way there and back.

To Sea World specifically, you can get over to the Transportation and Ticket Center and there is the public Lynx bus #50 that happens to go to Sea World without any transfers and is only $1.50 per person each way

FYI...I just booked reservations for this April through AAA and got no discount. I asked twice and they said, "There aren't any available for the campsites." Don't know if this is because there is only a limited number at a discount or if AAA discounts are only available during certain seasons. I just know that we didn't get a discount. :confused3

There were probably no AAA discounts left. They are usually released late in the year for the following year. For example, I booked last November for my December 2008 reservation and finally got a AAA discount mid-December 07 for December 08.

Using the AAA discount how much are you paying?????

Call back every couple of days and check to see if there is a AAA discount available that can be applied to your reservation. Disney will credit the difference. Folks cancel reservations every day so one of the discounts may free up. For my reservations last year it took me calling back for about 4 weeks before I finally got the discount.

It states 10% to 15% off depending on the "season". For this years trip, in August (value season), I think I calculated it at 20%. From $264.50 to $211.50. That's 5 nights, full hook-ups, $42.30 per night including tax. I'm not complaining.
