We are staying at All Star Sports from November 25- December 1. Would we be able to use the Frig? I will make sure it gets back to Movies For the next person. Is there a cost involved in this swap? Tried to get into another swap but have gotten no response for several weeks now.

Yes, those dates are available. You would need to swap it on December 1 to the next DIS'er. You are responsible for transporting to and from the Sports resort.

There is no cost involved. Please note that our fridge has had a rough couple of weeks and has been lost/found several times and it is now naked as mousekeeping threw out the box while cleaning a swappers room!! With that being said, there are no promises that our fridge will still be swapping come November...we certainly hope so but it's getting tougher by the day!

Yes, I received your info and I have you down.

Regarding having Mousekeeping deliver to another resort, that really is not a good idea since our fridge is without a box and could easily be mistaken for one of WDW rentals and be put into their inventory. In addition, 90% of the time there is a significant laguage barrier between the mousekeepers and the guests and something is bound to get lost in translation. Lastly, it really is not mousekeepings responsibility to transport personal items between various resorts for guests.

If you are not able to pick-up the fridge in person from the Movies resort and transport it to your resort, you may want to check out one of the other many All Star swaps. Please let me know.

I was just wondering. The other swap I tried to get into does that. I'll get it from Movies and return it. (DH asks how far is the walk from one resort to the other?) Do I have to put anything on it to tell who gets it next?

Thanks for adding me to the swap. It's such a great idea. $12/day is way too much to pay for one. I'm a detail person so I tend to ask questions...

I was just checking in on the swap to see how you guys were doing and read the sad 'tail' of how you didn't even get to use the fridge on your turn!

I'm so sorry that things went awry. You were a real trooper to organize this and you deserved a better result. You're even more of a trooper to have maintained it even after your return. You've spread a bit of magic for others that were able to participate.

I'm hopeful that some future swapper will step up and take over.

I certainly had a sad heart for a few weeks after returning from WDW but I am finally over it now

I will keep plugging along as coordinator until someone else volunteers or the fridge dies or goes permanently missing. Poor little naked fridge.

i hope i am mistaken, and upon my arrival the fridge is there....

however, i called this morning to confirm our res & had them put me through to bell services to check on the 'package'....

they said there was a fridge there, but it didn't have my family's name on it. i asked if it had the name AFTER me, and she said no. she couldn't tell me the name that was on it either (i thought, maybe the person prior?)....

so, crap, crap, crap, crap!!!

regardless, i will give the next person a call either tomorrow evening or sometime thursday so they can make other arrangements if necessary.

i hope it was just a lazy bell person....


off to pack!!! we leave tomorrow!!!

Was the one that the bell desk had in a box? Our's is boxless...naked...white fridge with some stickers on front and name taped on top.

All I can say is BE PERSISTENT and DON'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER as the staff at the bell desk is beyond lazy and most speak very little english. Ask for a manager if you have to. Suggest they look at the Sports storage area because our fridge has ended up there even though there was only 12 hours between swappers!!

by the way, WHEN i find it, i will be putting neon orange duct tape on it. that's the only color i could find in my area. i have some disney stickers that will be on it as well. the colored index cards will be left in it also.
i will also try and scrounge up a box from local friends to put it in, so it's more of a pkg. for the future dis people.
