Mods Please Close due to disrespectful comments/flaming

I'm sick of this! I've seen people put hard work and effort into making images, avatars, and signatures, only to be stolen by someone else. If you see someone using an image you like, at least ask for their permission if you can use it. This is getting ridiculous! I know a friend who made a little heart graphic for her other friends birthday, she put it in her singature, and now someone is using it as their avatar. If it wasn't created by you, don't use it without anyone's permission. The end.

I'm getting the mods to close the thread because sadly, people aren't mature enough to get the point.

But, if you put an image in your signature, other people are GOING to use it. You can't stop them..

Maybe to prevent that a little bit, write your name or put a certain symbol in the bottom of a picture you made. Then you'll know if somebody stole it and you can confront them. That's the only thing I can tell you. Good luck with it!

I agree with the last two. Also could you be more specific? Also as long as the person doesn't say they made it and really didn't there really isn't anything wrong. Plus you can't stop people from going on photobucket and using it. Also if you and your friend have an issue with it than PM the DISer and tell them. There really isn't a reason to make a thread about it.

i dunno...it's hard for people to claim graphics that they haven't put their name or any sort of identificaion on.

like obviously people aren' going to steal the graphics that people post on the arts boards and stuff....but when it's just an avvie or something in your sig, alot of people don't know if the person who has it MADE it themselves, or just found it on some random website.

Last year, someone stole a banner I made and posted it on another forum telling people she'd make them their own banners (she just changed the name on the graphic). How about those hearts? One person has it, everyone uses it. I'm not going to use names just to keep you entertained.

When you put something on the internet, you're pretty much accepting the fact that people might take it and use it for themselves.

Want my opinion? Probably not, but here it is anyway! Stop complaining!! If you don't want your picture used, don't display it for the world to see! And obviously, the people who "steal" things from you just aren't creativ enough to come up with their own! So get over yourself!! If you really want to keep something your own, keep it to yourself.

But anyways I'd be taking it as a compliment.
If they steal your things then you knew you did a good enough job they wanted it for themselves.

If you're going to complain about it so much, then why did you put up your art in the first place? Especially when you know that the pictures you display are perfectly accessible to everyone else.
