Modifying reservation through MDE.

I have a code (25%) discount reservation at POR/Standard Room I want to add a day onto. When I check through the Disney reservation site, there is no availability for my dates (extra day added on), but if I make the reservation for just the extra day alone, there is a Garden View available (Spring Discount Offer 20%).

Now, if I try and modify through MDE, I change the dates adding the extra day and it gives me the option of selecting a Standard Room under the Spring Discount offer, but says "We are unable to show rates at this time, please try again or check back later". Tried back several times, same thing.

Anybody know why? I understand the new policy for changing reservations and I already tried calling, the CM was useless and I was the one that had to explain to him to try booking under another offer or separate reservation if there was no more availability under my code... :sad2:

You can't modify your reservation online if you are changing the dates or the people. You have to call to change dates. The modify online option only works if you are changing resorts or categories. At least when I hit the modify reservation those are the messages I get.

My sister tried to add a day to her discounted POR reservation, but they wouldn't let her do it because there wasn't availability for the new trip dates. So she ended up booking a one night stay as a separate reservation. She is hoping they will let her stay in the same room instead of switch rooms.

I had a similar situation when I wanted to add a day to our reservation last November. I called, but the CM kept saying the hotel was fully booked for that night, however a room was showing as available online. I booked the room online. It was for the same category. I did call Disney later and asked them to note that we had a "continuing reservation". We were able to stay in the same room for the entire stay.

I've made date adjustments before, but I wasn't concerned about a discount code. I knew I was going from a discounted week to a yet-to-be-discounted week and didn't have a problem doing it in MDE. They didn't charge my Disney Visa another $200 or anything--it was all a wash. However, I'd be hesitant to try and do something online if I had a specific discount code that I wanted to maintain. As the previous posters have indicated, best to call to make sure it's done correctly. You NEVER want to pay more than you have to with Disney:tongue:! Good luck!

I am allowed to modify my dates, it offers Vacation Offer, Travel Dates, and Travel Party as my change options. When I change the dates it offers me a Standard Offer and a Spring Vacation Offer. The Standard offer shows the rates, the Spring Vacation Offer offers all the room categories but says We are unable to show rates at this time etc.

That would be a great scenario! But since we're booked for Standard and the only opening is Garden View, I'm pretty sure they'll be moving us. :sad1:

Yes, therein lies the problem, I'm dealing with a code and an unavailable room category, although I'd be happy to pay the Garden View rate for one night, just don't want to have to move.
