ONLY 4 WEEKS TO GO!

You should be able to use your phone out there but the cost will be higher then in the UK. You will have to check with O2 to see what they charge as every provider is different. You will also pay to receive calls too.

Once yo are out there the service provider will change too but it will be your service provider that will set the charge rate. I went from Virgin over here to Orange in DLP.

Calling charges from DLP will be just the same as those from France - and the rest of Europe. Check the O2 website for the charges and you can also sign up free for My Europe, for reduced rates. :)

Hi, I am on Pay as you go O2 and found that the Euro bolt on which was free at the time (Nov) meant that the cost wasn't that much higher than at home.

I did a lot of MMS what with the pics of the characters etc. but accepting calls can be pricey. Check the website.
Have a great time.:cloud9:

Hi Cat!
I have an O2 pay and go phone and my friend has Orange pay ang go.
Both worked fine when we were at DLP in March although it was very expensive.
Neither of us had organised holiday calls etc we just used our normal call plans.

One thing I had to ring the UK during the journey home and got people to ring me back to save credit but it cost more to receive the calls than make them.
Definatly worth ringing O2 in advance to find the details.

Have an amazing trip, I'm sure the 4 weeks will fly by. :woohoo:

hOW ABOUT T-MOBILE ANYONE BEEN (oops sorry had CAPS) there and used t-mobile?
i guess i should just call them up but would be nice to know what the service is like if anyone knows?

My DH has a T-Mobile PAYG and he has taken it abroad several times, you have to call 150 BEFORE you leave the country and activate roaming I believe.

For those who bring a laptop, also consider Skype.

While I have to carry two cel phones for work in North America, during international travel I rarely use them. I am a huge fan of Skype - cost me about 10 euros for a year of calling based on a promotion from last year. The quality is excellent, far better than other VOIP services I tried in past.
