Mobile Phone help required please

Good morning all, hope someone can offer me some help.

Someone has sent a very personal and upsetting text to my mobile, l don't have the number listed on my phone but l know the text was meant for me as it included my name. Is there anyway l can track the number? l've tried ringing it but they just don't answer, cowards!!!! Its really playing on my mind

If you have the number try ringing it from some one elses phone so they won't know its you. Can your service provider help to see if they are listed or look it up on the internet. I am like you i would want to find out who it was and give them a piece of my mind good luck

Put 141 infront of the number when you call then they won't see it. Other than that no, there is no way you can find out if they are not listed with the service provider and these days with numbers being portable that makes it even more difficult. If they start texting too often with nasty stuff you need to report it to the Police as malicious communications or harassment, so don't delete the texts.

Does the fact it is personal give any idication as to who it may be?

Would it be worth taking the matter further and reporting it to the police? I hope you find out who it is so you can put your mind at ease.

If it does become a neuisance calls/ text thing then you can contact your service provider and they will change your number for you free of chage - I had trouble with a guy phoning me over and ober years ago and Orange were very good about it, they were able to see the calls logging on my history and changed the number for me no problem.

Thanks all for the advice. I've found out who the person was thankfully! I text them and informed them that l'd passed their details to the police who took sexual harrassement very seriously. They replied this time and apologized giving being very drunk as their excuse. I told them how upset the text had made me and requested they delete my mob number. Hopefully they will act on my wishes.
