We just got back from our trip using the DDP for 5 days. One thing we found particularly useful was mobile order.
1. Mid trip we had an error made when ordering in person in which the CM accidentally charged the meal to our room instead of using our meal credit. We did not realize until the end of our stay and it was a bit of a fight with customer service to get the charge reversed. Mobile ordering ensures you are using DDP.
2. I reviewed the breakfast menu at our resort on the app and it showed that we were able to pick 2 of the 3 sides in any combination (bacon, sausage, and tots) even though the meal stated it included bacon and sausage. I did not want to use mobile order because there was no option for an alcoholic beverage (we were trying to maximize that credit! lol) so I tried to order in person and the CM refused to let me sub tots for sausage. I told her it was listed on the app and was brushed off, so I declined the plate and ordered online. I in fact did receive tots and bacon.
3. At D Luxe Burger, on mobile order you are given the option to add fries. These are included even though it appears like it will use a snack credit on the initial screen. It also gives the option to add a chocolate shake with no option to change to a different flavor. If you add the shake separately however, it does include any flavor when you review your order. Also there was a salted caramel shake on the app which we ordered, however, it was not listed anywhere in the restaurant. There was a key lime pie listed in the restaurant but not on the app. So if you are not in a rush, you may want to look at the options in the restaurant as well as on the app since they may differ.
Overall we had a great time trying different foods that we would have never tried if we weren't on the plan. We hit slightly above break even, although we were mindful to order high dollar meals.
