This should be at the Boardwalk

Yes I know they already have pizza but I'm talking about the aesthetics. C'mon Disney don't let the BW slip into mediocrity. It's not too late to bring the theming back to life....you have the space! You have the money (sort of)! Do you have the will to rejuvenate the creativity and passion from the 80s and 90s and early 2000s? CBS is very pretty and is a fine anchor for the extreme east side of the resort now how about sprucing up the rest?

The well-themed restaurants that have opened in the last few years have mostly been 3rd party (ex. Cake Bake Shop & Space 220). It seems like Disney may be relying on other companies to pay for theming at least when it comes to dining. I feel like they are going to have to step things up in general though to compete. (No, I'm not one who thinks Universal is going to overtake Disney, but they are sure going to come close with Epic Universe.)

Cake Bake Shop
This was my point, Cake Bake Shop doe not belong on a boardwalk. When I see the op's example of Pizza Moon I 100% think of boardwalk, when I see cake bake shop I see Grand Floridan which couldn't be further away from the boardwalk concept...identity crisis. With that being said I would rather see Cake Bake Shop then an empty building.

IMO I don't think Disney knows what to do with the space.

I agree with CBS highly doubt it will last very long. The area is modeled after the early days of the Jersey Shore. While I am not sure the Pizza moon is a great fit... A good pizza place is however with SEATS, Sports bar - that serves bar food, bars that have bands or and seats Burgers fries and hotdogs and seats.... All things any boardwalk is known for but especially the one the resort is modeled after. There is just no viable CS in the area without potentially taking the food to your room or standing and eating. Please dont say BC... I would sooner eat a napkin gave that place a few chances and also no SEATS. Y/C no SEATS and very very limited. The 2 Disney remaining restaurants are good but not an Everday thing a nicely themed CS with SEATS would be great.

Having a casual venue with pizza and music (bands) that could be open late especially with the convention resorts around it and two parks that could have plenty of people stop by after the parks closes would be a no brainer. There is still a great opportunity to make the boardwalk a destination instead of an after thought.

I feel like I consistently hear the most nostalgia and therefore the most lamenting over the "fall" of the Boardwalk. At MK a similar nostalgic stronghold is the Poly but unlike Boardwalk they've both maintained AND added to the area. Even if you hate the idea of the Island Tower you can still stay at the highly themed longhouses. They've stayed basically the same save for some renos and theming changes. When it comes to Crescent Lake you always hear stories of older vacationers waxing poetic about their youth spent at the Boardwalk and how different the feel was. I personally didn't start staying at BW until more recently so I have no idea about how much better things used to be but being empathetic I can feel their dismay as if I too had vacationed my whole youth at this resort. Comcast is a giant soulless corporation yet they seem to have the right creative people in charge and the brass is giving them the money and the freedom to have fun...like WE used to do! Making a restaurant that looks like that is NOT that difficult for a company like Disney. So riddle me this...why aren't we trying anymore?
