Mobile Food Ordering timing

After watching a couple of videos and reading a couple of reviews, one thing I haven’t found out is how to time the ordering of quick service food via the app. Is it something you’d do when you’re just 5 minutes away? Or do you need to place your order significantly before the time you expect to be there?

As soon as you place a mobile order, the restaurant receives it and begins to perpare it. Therefore, you should place your order no sooner than the time you think it'll take them to prepare it...unless you like cold food. We place our mobile orders when no more than 5 minutes away.

I agree with not doing it too far ahead. (The first couple of times I tried it, I was actually right by the stand/restaurant. I just wanted to see how it worked with no pressure.)

I'd say my Dole Whip was ready within 5 minutes, and Backlot Express was 10-15, because they were really busy that day.
