How early can we get in the park with our party ticket? We have reservations for the Liberty Tree at 3:15. Do you think we could get in with just our party ticket that early?

4pm, pretty much to the minute. I saw people being turned away at 3.55pm. They are linked to your magic band. There were complaints last year, that people attempted to get in prior to 4pm and the system automatically took a day from their multiday ticket since the part ticket doesnt become active until 4pm. You will need to use a day ticket if you wish to keep your reservation.

We got in around 3:50 but that's not something you could count on. 3:15 is definitely out.

I would move your Liberty Tree reservation. No way would I use both a standard park day ticket and a Halloween ticket on the same day.

IMO party days are some of the best days to go to MK. When you consider adding a 5th or 6th day to your trip costs something like $12 to $15 bucks I think it's worth it depending on how much time you want to stay in the park. My wife and I went from 9:00 to 1:00 or so and then came back for the party around 5 or 6. (Granted we were at BLT so we didn't have to do transportation). We got a lot done!

Can you go through security before 4 and wait at the [whatever they use instead of turnstiles]?

Yes, you can go through security any time. You just can't go thru the turnstiles until 4.

This is how it will work (based on past several years):
  • You can arrive, go through bag-check and get to the area before the tap points.
  • They will group MNSSHP attendees on the RIGHT side, with special signs over the entry points.
  • Lines will start forming a little after 3, though there will be plenty of people hanging out and waiting before that.
  • They will most likely start processing the now rather long lines at about 10 minutes before 4 PM.
  • The MNSSHP Tap Points are programmed to ONLY look for a party ticket; they will not use a regular entry unless you go to the regular entry points (i.e. not the ones on the right).
  • After you tap they will strap you with a wristband for the party and give you your trick-or-treat bag.
  • Then you are free to go.
To the OP, there is no way they will let you in by 3:15. 3:50 is about the earliest it can be. They let the party guests in at 4 because if they held everybody until 7 it would take until 8 just to get them all through (and where would they stand?). The process has become very streamlined and works well. If you have questions, ask a CM in the Halloween garb working the entry points on the right side.

We go to MK on party days, just not the day we actually go to the party. Feels like we're paying double for the day. And, since we can get in with our party ticket at 4 o'clock, you can still get in 8 hours of touring.

We do a water park before the party then we don't feel double charged.

I've had reservations at 4:20 and asked to go in 5 minutes early and been told no. I'd say you need to try to make a later reservation for the place.
