MNSSHP: What's the best part?

The headless horseman rides before each parade, 15 minutes before I think??...BUT only on days with nice weather, if there is any rain even a sprinkle he will not go...Mr. Knickerbocker (sp?) reads the story of the HH at the Liberty Bell and when he finishes the Horseman rides...

I've heard a few people say he only rides before the 1st parade...however last year we saw him ride before the 2nd parade (10pm) one...

Can hardly wait...! pirate:

OH NO! that was going to be my question-- does the headless horseman come out for the 2nd parade!!?? :confused3

does anyone know for sure???

I wanted to know what kind of costumes the kids (and adults?) wear. We are from a very small community and you are shunned if you don't have a completely homemade and original costume? Thanks :teeth:

oops- wait another HH question.......

where is the best place to see him ride- the Liberty Bell or does he ride throughout the park??

I am a first-timer...dont wanna miss anything.....sorry.......

Yes he does. I've seen him the last 4 years in both parades.

He runs the entire parade route. My favorite view is by the Hall of Presidents.

My favorite part is being able to walk around MK in a Halloween costume! It's the only time of year a grown woman can wear one of those princess dresses like the little girls.

Oh, and don't blink or you'll miss him! because he is TRUCKIN' ! so pay attention or you will be so very

I want to go soo bad!!! :sad1: But my DBF said that we should not go this year and save money instead to buy a house (what does he know?!) I need everyone to describe how wonderful and exciting and cool it is so that I can print them all out and try to convince him to go in October! I'm already compiling all of the posts that are here!

are you still going to disney though...just not the MNSSHP?

if that IS the case-- just tell DBF that you wont get ANY souvenirs while you are there (oh- and make sure you add in...."i promise" )

i think it is funny when DH says something like that- i say, you are telling me that we wont be spending that 100+ $$ somewhere else in the park anyway??...of course i then get my way! princess:

GOOD LUCK!...and make sure you show him pics along WITH the posts! :rotfl:

No we won't be going at all if I can't convince him! He said that he thinks we should just save money for the next couple of years and move down there instead of going on vacation there....I want to do both! If anyone has any good pics please post them!!!

If I have to pick one specific thing, it's the parade. The headless horseman, the music, the characters/floats - IMHO it's the best parade at WDW.

However, what I really like about MNSSHP is the whole atmosphere of the park. I love the MK at night, anyway - the bright lights and dark shadows give it much more of a unearthly feel. Add in the spooky colored lights, rolling fog and creepy background music, and you really feel as if you're in a "magic" kingdom....

Be well!

Thank You all so much.........you have convinced me to go to MNSSHP!!! I have never been before and thought that we would be there too early to attend the party but we arrive just in time (Sept 14-18) Can't wait to recieve those tickets!

Wow! :cool1:

You are going to TWO Halloween parties! Oh my gosh! How exciting! (And, how lucky)!

I am loving every minute of this thread. I have never been to the party before, and I am just so excited! All these stories are getting me so psyched!

Have any of you ever hopped to the MK after doing another park earlier in the day? How do you keep the kiddos awake? My thinking is let them do the monorail (instead of the buses, which I'm afraid will lure them to sleep) from EPCOT (where we'll be) to the MK.

Any ideas or previous experience stories? Thanks! :moped:

thanks for the link with pics....I'm gonna talk to DBF tonight and we'll see how it goes!!!!

DW and I went to the party for the first time last year and we just loved it. We especailly loved getting our picture taken in front of the Coach they had on display just as you left Fantasyland going into Liberty Square, it was a real cool set up. Also we enjoyed watching all the little ones in their costumes going from candy station to candy station. We really enjoyed the party .

Hi guys. Jason (who made this video last year) was kind enough to post his video again for our family to watch. Thought some of you might like to see it too.

Keep your fingers crossed they will do it again this year! Has anyone heard if they released the details of the party yet? Last I checked, www.allearsnet.com still had 2005 details posted.

Here's the link to the Hallowishes video:
