Trying to decide when we should go this year. Last year we went to MNSSHP, we loved it. We want to go back this year, but I keep thinking lets try another time of year for something different. Is one more crowed than another? :confused3 Is it really cold in Dec.,can you wear shorts?? :confused3 Please help. We love going in the end of Sept-Oct. due to lack of crowds. Do you guys think we will enjoy early Dec.?? PLEASE HELP US DECIDE.

This past year when we went, both were about the same in terms of crowds.

Everyone is different, and it all depends on what you like, but I love the Christmas time. I love the festive atmosphere of Christmas and so, I love the MVMCP better.

Both are very good but, and I dont see one lacking anything, but I like the less dark feeling and more festive feeling of the MVMCP. It's more of a "happy" thing, even though the MNSSHP is still a happy thing.

I like the music through the park for MVMCP and I like the whole setting.

We've gone early December for years and the crowds are generally not bad. Christmas is beautiful and MVMCP is great as is the Candlelight Processional and the Osborne lights.

I've done both. I prefer MNSSHP because I felt like it was more worth the cost of the ticket. But I really enjoyed both very much. It wasn't really cold when I went in December but I wouldn't say you would be comfortable wearing shorts. I've been in October when I felt it was colder. Plus you get free hot cocoa at MVMCP. There are also many other holiday things going on in all of the parks which make December a fun & interesting time to go especially when you go early in the month when there really aren't crowds. AK's parade is Christmas themed. Many of the characters are wearing holiday outfits or at leasts holiday scarfs. Lilo wears a red & green mumu and a pointsettia in her hair. Chip & Dale have Scarves. All the parks have christmas decorations. If you want to try something different I would definitely say you should go in December. I'm stuck on October because of the F & W Festival but I'm trying to figure how to squeeze in a December fix becuase I want to do all the Christmasy stuff again.

December weather can go either way. I have been there with 90 degrees and also been when its been in the 30s at night. I now prefer Oct over Dec/Jan but I do love WDW in Dec. Epcot is just beautiful in Dec with the Candlelight processional and the world Santas. I've never been to Osborn lights so I hope to return some Dec.

Another thing that makes Oct win over Dec for me it the chance that I could get snow delayed on the flight down or home or come home to a driveway full of snow. I suppose there is the huricane risk in Oct.

I also don't feel like I can "afford" the time away from home during the holidays. Too much baking, shopping, preparing to do but a vacation may just be a welcome break. On my Dec trips I always took my Christmas cards to write at the airport.

Both are great times to go-good luck deciding.

I love them both so much that I alternate each year, but last year I got to do both thanks to the free dining package!!

I enjoy MNSSHP, the weather and low crowds of October, but I also LOVE the whole Christmas season at WDW at all the parks. I love the Candlelight Processional, seeing the Osborne Lights, the music and decorations, MVMCP, and the weather and the low crowds.

December can be cool sometimes. It's hit or miss but its still a great time to go to WDW.

Good luck deciding!

Last year I was very fortunate to attend both MNSSHP and MVMCP. My personal preference of the two parties is definitely MNSSHP. Loved the atmosphere, the parade - Hallo-wishes was the best!! It felt less crowded to me, but that could have more to do with the day of the week than the popularity of the party itself. I was there 22-29. My third October trip and the weather has always been the best toward the end of the month. Then there is the Food and Wine Festival to consider, too!

I was there the first week in December. Maybe could have worn shorts during the afternoons, but most of the time I was very comfortable in jeans and needed layers or something warm for the party. The parade and special Wishes were very nice, but I wasn't as wowed by them as at MNSSHP.

I'm from the north and like to have some real snow and cold with my Christmas. Even though everything is quite beautiful, I couldn't stop thinking the Christmas in July thing. When I don't like snow is when I need to worry about traveling in snow or on ice.

All that being said, I'm returning again in December to gather with friends. There are a couple of things already mentioned that I truly adore at WDW at Christmas - the Candlelight Processional with the dinner package and the Osborne Lights. And it is fun to see how the trees are decorated at each park - and the resort lobbies, too.

Whatever you decide will be the right decision!!!

Enjoy!
