MNSSHP...twice???

I am planning our very first October trip so that we can experience MNSSHP! We will be there October 11_15 (actually leaving on 15th) We visit The World yearly in summer but have never been for Halloween festivities! Given that this is our one and only likely visit in October I am only interested in things at the party which can't be done during the regular park day. My kids are huge Character hunters so we will want to see all the unusual characters. As I try to look at plans, I see that it will be very difficult to see everything we want to see in one night! I am now considering doing 2 parties but I'm wondering if that will even be offered during our time there. I had thought that parties were typically on thurs, fri, sun and tues which would be perfect because we could go to both sun and tues night parties. I saw something, however that made me suspect that the schedule is different around Columbus Day weekend.

1: am I crazy to consider 2 nights at this special event?

2: has there been any consistency to scheduling the nights of the parties in the past and has Columbus Day been different?

3: when will they release Oct park hours so I can see the likely party dates?

My family usually goes to two parties when we go to WDW in October. We love the parties and there is so much to see and do!

My guess is that the October travel agent calendar will be releases in mid-March.

I can't speak to the hours or schedule of the party, but we did 2 last year and were glad we did! However, we were there for 2 weeks so they were a little more spread out! We did almost the same schedule at both parties, DS wanted to see the fireworks and parade both nights, if we had skipped them one night we would have had more character time. The one potential downside for you is how exhausting it is, we didn't do a park the day of the party, and didn't get much done the day after. If you have a limited amount of time and a lot to accomplish at the parks during the day, two parties might be too much. I don't believe that the parties in that time frame sell out, so maybe you could buy tickets to the first and see how much you get done and then decide about the second night?

We always do 2 in one week with 2 different costumes!

We did 2 parties on our last trip and it was totally worth it! There is no way you can do it all in one night especially if you are looking for characters. It took both parties for us to see most of the characters we wanted to meet and there were still quite a few we didn't get to see. There is so much other stuff to see and do that going to 2 parties helps you relax a bit more compared to running around like a maniac trying to do it all in one night. Make sure you dress up too!

Yay! Now I know I'm not crazy so I will just hope they offer the party twice while I am there!

And, yes, I am planning to check out food and wine on Monday if they party schedule stays the same!

If it is like last year the schedule is different during Columbus Day weekend! The MNSSHP is on Monday night that week, there isn't one on Friday or Tuesday! So, if it's like last year you'd only be there for the one on Monday!
Keep in mind however, that the dates and times have not officially been released, they are only estimates! So... If you are there for two party nights... Go for it!!!!

I'm not exactly sure what the dates/party schedules look like around that time. We went Sunday to Wed the last week of Oct last year and hit a Sun & Tues party.

It's definitely worth it to do 2 parties, I find that you can easily do things more than once, and if you want to hit all the characters, you might need more than one party's worth of time to get it done!

We did MNSSHP three times in a week last year. Our main thing was meeting every single character and we were to three sold out parties. It was great because we didn't have to run around and try and get everything done. It was absolutely worth it
