MNSSHP-Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know (from the 2009 party!)

so i have a curious question to anyone who has gone already, and went at about 4. were there other families that were deffinitley mnsshp attendees there at about that time? just curious if we'll stick out like a sore thumb or not.

I have so been wondering about that. Right now it looks like we will go on the 27th and have dinner at CP at 4:30. We will be riding disney transport and be in costume: DH and DS - vampires and I will be a witch. So how funny are we going to be in CP eating ... already decided no make-up or fake blood and leave capes and witches hat in back pack but still should be interesting...

I went to the second party and arrived just a few minutes after 4. Some people in costume were starting to arrive. The curious thing about the bus was that most people on it didn't even now about the party and were not happy that they were only going to be able to stay at MK for a short time. Some got off at MK and got on buses for other parks. It was obvious when I arrived that the park was in party mode. They kept making an announcement and they had cm's all over in Halloween themed uniforms. You all will be fine. I would think this close to Halloween there will be more people going to dinner in costume. Also you have to remember my crowd was very light. Have fun.

My DH and I had been at the MK and left around 4 to go back and change for the party and as we were leaving almost everyone arriving was in costume. When we arrived back at Pop the entire line for the bus to MK was in costume! So no you will not stick out at all. Have fun!

Can someone recommend the best time to get in line for Cinderellas coach (near Small World and Peter Pan's Flight)? I don't want to miss either parade or fireworks, but also want to ensure a photo so something might have to give! 4 more days til MNSSHP!!!

coach comes out and starts to get set up before 7. I suggest being there early as the line can get long and we like are photos in more light then at night

haha thats great! thanks for the advice!

We went to 2 parties last week on Tuesday and Friday and Tuesday we got to the park at 3:45 p.m. they already were directing people with tickets to go towards the gates on the right and CMs were in their Halloween outfits. They let us in before 4 with only our Halloween tickets:goodvibes We also had an ADR at Crystal Palace for 5:30 and there were lots of people in there in Halloween costumes so you will not look silly. We checked in at 5:10 and weren't seated until 5:50 though. Lots of people waiting to eat!

Naw, you'll be fine!

The 8 of us arrived early on the 29th and we were dressed as the cast from Hercules. We got some great comments and had a blast! :)

Still wondering if anyone has seen Goliath the Gargoyle out and about in the park during the parties?

And is anyone going on the 15th? Not sure what me and DH will be wearing but when we narrow it down I'll post it!

We are! I will be dressed as Minnie, in a red and white top and a red tutu, DH will be Mickey with Groom Mickey ears, DS will be a policeman, and right now DD says she will also be Minnie, but that could change. We are also taking her Ariel & Cinderella costumes just in case she changes her mind.

We figured out our costumes yesterday. My DD and I will be dressed as Thing 1 and Thing 2 and Hunter (grandson) will be dressed as The Cat in the Hat. Be sure to say "hi" if you see us. We can hardly wait!

We went to the party Tuesday and Thursday last week. We got in line early for Snow White Tuesday and the carriage Thursday. We got in the carriage line around 6:15 and were pleasantly surprised to find them let everyone start aroudn 6:30. We were done by 6:45 and able to go start our evening elsewhere. Here's an example of the daytime photo. I wanted to go back later for a night photo, but never made it.

love the carriage photo...we were there at midnight and there was still a pretty long line and the photographer was still asking people to DO poses...multiple poses...it kinda' offended me! they were older teens and it was really madening watching him take 8+ photos of each girl b/c my 5 year old really wanted to do it!

when we went in at 4pm there were lots of MNSSHP people getting bands and going in!

We were at MNSSHP Sept 29th. The line for Snow White was long- we went to the area at 6:45- line was already long. CM said they would be out at 7:30 and stay for 30 minutes. They would be out at 8:30 and stay for 30 minutes etc. We did not want to spend that much time in line. So we went in search of candy. If you want chocolate just tell the CM at the trick-or-treat station- they will give it to you. Do not miss Tarzan near the Aloha Isle Dole Whip stand. He has some other friends with him. The parade is great- as are the fireworks. Have fun!:yay:

We're going to the party on the 18th. Does anybody know if we will still be able to buy party specific merchandise or is alot of it already sold out?

We're looking to buy a couple party specific pins and the party specific shirt for the kids...

Which shop would be the best to look at first?

Thanks!

We were 4th in line for Snow White that night. It was LONG and started early (partly my fault probably....) But if you get in line early, you can minimize how much actual party time you take up to see them. Here's our photo:

Thursday night (10/1) we got done early at the carriage photo op. We were headed over to get in line for Mickey and Minnie, and noticed at 6:45 that there were only 3 or 4 people in line for Snow and the dwarfs. Since my daughter was wearing her Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs skirt set, she wanted to get in line again. I was hesitant, but glad we did. They got a big kick out of being featured on the skirt!
